I am also from Wuhan, and the Hanyang District she mentioned is indeed quite remote. Wuhan is divided into Wuchang(武昌), Hankou(汉口) and Hanyang(汉阳). Wuchang is a university city with the largest number of universities in China.,it is also the most densely populated area in Wuhan. Hankou District is the center of the city and the most prosperous district. Hanyang is indeed a suburb by comparison. It belongs to the development zone.
This is why the outbreak of Wuhan will affect the whole of China and even neighboring countries. With a resident population of 10 million and the largest number of universities in the country, they all have to return to their hometown from Wuhan to celebrate the Lunar New year. Wuhan is also the transportation hub of central China. It can even be said that it is the geographical center of China. It only through two provinces to go from Wuhan to any province. So, as a joke, for example, the Plague Company game, if I want to poison, I will not choose Beijing, not Shanghai, not Guangzhou, must be Wuhan.
Compared with her and many people in Wuhan, I am miserable. My family is not in Wuhan. I am at home alone. I can't cook. I can only order takeout every day. I would like to thank some restaurants and takeout staff who are still open here. The community still does not let the takeout staff in. I have to go down and get it every time. I can hardly see anyone every time I go out. I think I may be the person who goes out most frequently among the ordinary citizens of Wuhan. T.T T.T T.T
I thought that according to the perennial attitude of the external network towards China, I thought many people would discriminate against China, Wuhan and even hate us, but I was really moved to see that you were still encouraging us. Thank you very much! Thank you so much!
(my English level is limited. I don't know why only thank you can be translated.)

This video encapsulates very well what 'affordability' or 'comfort' can mean to different people. The financial advisor bro was definitely very privileged- 10k a month allows one to live in a large home/condo in a good location, dine out often, and probably travel twice a year, and with extra savings too. Nothing wrong with that, it's just what 'a comfortable life' means to him- which are 'luxuries' to many others.
It was also heartwarming to see the old lady with such a positive attitude. For one to believe that $300 is enough to lead a comfortable life in Singapore, it reflects how much is being done to take care of those in need. From my understanding, for the poor, basic necessities like housing and healthcare are heavily subsidized, and there are various support networks for these households to receive donations in the form of clothing, food and daily necessities.
Many Singaporeans don't even see this side of Singapore, much less foreigners, so kudos to the Asian Boss team for this video. It helped me to appreciate what I have and not take things for granted.

Loved this interview and typed up some notes for those interested:
Who is most at risk?
- Highest death rate is in the elderly.
- 0.1% for 30 and 40 year olds
Can you get the flu again?
- Usually people who get the flu, the bodies develop antibodies and they recover in 2 weeks and don't get sick again.
- For Covid, people who have been discharged are getting the virus again .
How do you get infected?
- 3 ways to get infected:
1. Droplet Transfer: Directly being coughed or sneezed on by someone and being with their droplets.
2. Indirect Transfer: When patient coughs or sneezes and the droplets land on keyboards/tables/doorknobs. Virus can survive up to 3-4 days on surfaces like tables/door knobs, and 1 day for fabric/clothes.
3. Direct Transfer: When someone coughs/sneezes on hands and you shake their hands and subsequently touch your face/mouth/eyes etc...
Can you get it just by breathing?
- Yes, Aerosol Transmission possible in certain cases (i.e. Airborne transmissions)
- Airborne transmission likely in densely packed areas. But, in outdoor environments and not in closed spaces, not as likely through airborne transmission.
What are the symptoms of the virus?
- Loss in appetite, mild aches, fevers, sore throat, difficulty breathing.
- 30% of those who get the virus can't smell or taste anything
- Lose your sense of smell or taste
Can you get infected if it's on skin?
- You get infected by virus going through eyes/mouth/nose because there are mucous membranes in those areas.
- However, you can't get the virus from it just being on your skin. That's why it's important to wash your hands.
How effective is wearing mask?
- Very effective.
- In the west, not many people wear masks which is odd. The US Surgeon General and WHO recommend people not to wear masks, but he disagrees. Wearing mask is extremely effective.
- They probably said that so medical ppl can have more masks and normal people stop hoarding.
- If everyone wears masks, there will be less infections in general. WHO encourages normal people not to wear masks. But in Asia, because of cultural differences, they encourage ppl to wear masks.
- As a result, US/Europe spreading much faster than Asia did.
If it gets warmer, will the virus go away?
- Hard to predict, but won't go away quickly.
- Several scenarios:
- 1st Scenario: Covid ends like SARS did when it got warmer. SARS started in Nov 2002 and ended July 2003. But, back then people travelled less and infection was much smaller (mostly Asia + Canada only).
- For Covid, IF the whole world cooperates, it can end by July/August 2020 and it won't infect people again. However, only 10% probability this may come true.
- 2nd scenario: Covid stays in the summer and it'll spread to southern hemisphere when it's their winter and it'll come back again in our winter. Just like regular flu cycle.
- 3rd scenario: we develop a vaccine and put a end to it once and for all. But this scenario is difficult to achieve.
- Inventing a new vaccine usually takes 10-15 years and costs US$800M. Covid is not even 100 days old. Doctors have only had 2 months to understand their DNA structure so far.
- At fastest, IF everything goes smoothly (big if), and it'll take 18 months if all goes well to develop vaccine.
- However, even if US / China develops a vaccine, would they share the vaccine? Also, it'll be impossible for US with 320million population to vaccinate everyone. It becomes a choice of priority. Who gets the cure first?
What cures are being used now?
- Best thing we can do is "drug repurposing":
- Try to find a drug that's being used to treat another disease that can also be effective for Covid.
- Ex. A drug that is used for Malaria was found to be somewhat effective in treating Covid and used for critical patients right now.
- Another way:
- Take the blood of patients who recovered and use the antibodies in the blood to give to critical patients. So recovered people should donate their bloods if they can.
Any last comments?
- Currently, doctors working 2 months nonstop and very worn out. Their bodies are tired as a result so they can catch the virus from patients more easily. They are more vulnerable than normal people.
Last advice to people in teens, 20s, 30s?
- You may be fine, but if you spread to an elderly family member, it could be fatal.
- Wear mask. Socially distance. You need to protect yourself so you can protect your family.

People in China are acting a lot calmer than the rest of the world about what's happening. People tend to stay home most of the time, but their normal life quality can be guaranteed to the most extent under this kind of situation. There's no energy or food shortage, no mass panic, no significant rise of price on groceries.
Every single Chinese national is facing this virus, this situation all together.
All I see on internet is nothing but mistrust to our government and all kinds of conspiracy theories, or so-called "real truth". I don't understand why nowadays politics always has to come first. it's just very sad to see. I'm just a normal Chinese citizen myself. I'm not 100% for our government, but I have to say what has been done this time is absolutely prompt and effective. We are handling it the best we can, with everyone coming together. Many American friends of mine told me if a lockdown happens in the US, people will definitely riot. But you don't see any of that in China this time. It's NOT because the government is suppressing us, it's because we are standing together with each other and we have faith in getting through this, together!
We do expect the number to go up more, don't know how much more. But that's not because people keep getting infected, but people infected have not been diagnosed yet.
Feel free to believe those rumors or fake news which probably fit in better with your shallow stereotype to China. We are presenting you the fact and you choose to turn away, what else can I say?
I have absolute faith in our people. It may take some time, but we will get through this.

THIS! What Asian Boss is doing is exemplary! This is the kind of journalism and media information that I yearn for. Its VERY educative, informative, professional, clean, and to-the-point about the topic being discussed. The best part of it all is that it strives to be objective and tries its best to not be too biased in a certain direction. THIS HERE is what the US media corps should aspire to be. As it stands, the US mainstream media is a bunch of hogwash, story-spinning, and partisan mudflinging. What you guys are doing here is (IMO) a closer form of "true journalism" and something that generations of people should tune into to find out more about certain aspects of Asia. I hope everyone in Asian Boss continues to see big success and I hope to see you one day reach into more mediums of media - magazines, prints, a little segment on tv, etc.

This is such an important topic that I'm glad Asian Boss covered. As someone who lived in Japan, Thailand, and currently Korea, the obsession of white skin is very normal and usual.
That's amazing that Miss Gray won but I do think it's important to tackle on the systematic idea of "did she win simply because she isn't full Filipina?"
When I lived in Thailand, skin bleaching is advertised everywhere and mixing with white or East-Asian folks was ideal as it considered to be closer to the beauty standard. I can't' fully blame them since advertisements and the media consistently push out whiter looking models, actors, and actresses while denying folks of darker-skinned tone AKA what the majority looks like. This causes for a lot of women (and men too), to feel pressure to achieve this "ideal" look and therefore they bleach their skin or go to some extremes to do so. This is really normal in Asia. As an English teacher in Korea, I try to tell my Korean students that they are all beautiful. A lot of them have darker tanned skin and I tell them they look amazing simply because I know the outside world tells them otherwise.
We need to have this discussion and tackle these problems in order to promote beauty in everyone - but especially darker-skinned folks since they are consistently being ignored and muted.
Miss Gray is beautiful, but not because she is whiter. Also, there are so many tanned and darker Filipinas that are very beautiful too! All colors are gorgeous, and I can't wait for the day where those with dark skin can be seen worldwide as beautiful too - because they are.

I enjoy the video and this is a very fair interview. I am in lockdown in Shanghai right now so I have a very accurate read of the situation here. I would like to add a few comments disagreeing on a few point and adding a few important point missed by the video:
1) The point I don't agree with is the shouting from apartment block phenomenon. The video literally shows the residential community where I lived in. Yes the video of our residential community in-house concert went viral and was used by a lot of local and foreign media. Yesterday I went for a walk at my residential compound and there are still people screaming loudly across to other residential compound to get them to sing. I am not discounting the fact that some residential compound was using this method to protest, but I have not seen any. But I am quite perplexed when they use the video of my residential compound and says that its a protest. They are literally just having a mini concert to relieve stress of being in lockdown. My wife does it too but not for a concert, she shout in the open from our balcony because it is so quiet outside and our voice can be heard echoing. This would be impossible during normal times when there are so many background noise from traffic. Everybody shout for a very different reason, please don't put a blanket statement covering all the people that shout from their balcony.
2) Regarding the food distribution, I need to add a few comment: There is no one that I know starved to death in Shanghai, even amongst the least prepared people. Why? Because there will be neighbors helping you out. Food bartering and gifting is one of the most popular activity in residential compound at the moment. Most residential compound has their own wechat group and any request for certain food items is always answered. The elder people that don't use them have their neighbor or the residential community group helping them get their food. I have already have a group of six elders in my chatgroup that I helped in regular basis to order their groceries. I am surprised food bartering and community approach to distribute food was not covered well in this interview. Not all is well however, some residential communities are victims of price gauging by the group buy leader of their community. Prices of some basic products was sold at exorbitant prices that lead to residents revolting against the group buy people. In many cases the community organizer takes over the food distribution and restore the price to a more reasonable level.
3) Gov assistance: Every sub district gets a very different gov food assistance. This literally depends on the ability of the sub district gov officials to source their groceries. Some have it quite good, I know a friend that barely need to do group buy and survive almost entirely out of gov assistance, but I also know some people that barely get any. I got a few of these packages from the gov, about once a week on average, not enough to survive but again we don't need it since we have a very strong group buy at reasonable prices. Some of the free food has quality problems as well and recently cause a few people to get sick after eating a free chicken.
4) About the quarantine hospital: very accurate description except for how the interviewee describe the people's attitude towards it. From what i know from people around me and myself, we are more afraid of the quarantine hospital than the disease itself. We make sure to isolate ourselves as much as possible at home so that we don't go through the process of quarantine. Some facilities are good and the majority are acceptable as emergency shelter but some are just pure horror story level. We pray that we don't get pulled into those abandoned warehouse for quarantine even though they are clearly not the majority of quarantine hospitals.
5) Regarding gov response: The main consensus nationwide and especially in Shanghai is that the current Shanghai lockdown is extremely disappointing. It is damaging Shanghai's reputation nationwide and hurting the reputation of the nation worldwide. Shanghai resident are angry at their government and tens of gov officials has been fired, resigned and demoted. I know they are holding back more gov official firing until the lockdown is over. After dust settles down, more high ranking officials will be fired and demoted. For those people that don't know China, first tear cities like Beijing and Shanghai is a testing and training ground for the next gen leader of China. They are suppose to be the best of the best in the meritocratic order. Xi Jinping himself was once the party secretary of Shanghai before he was promoted to vice president and eventually the president of PRC. The debacle in Shanghai shook the trust of the leadership to the core for many people. How is it that a small, obscure city or another first tier city like shenzhen does much better job that the "all star" Shanghai that carries the weight of the countries economy and a posterchild of Chinese modernization? Are the next gen leader this incompetent? There will be a major restructuring after the lockdown, the gov owes it to the people. This is accountability in China.

Seems like there is huge misconception about dual citizenship in Japan. I hope I will get some votes up, so more people will know about how to keep dual citizenship even after coming of age.
On surface Japanese Nationality Law is made to encourage people to keep single nationality, but in fact it has a HUUUGE loophole for people, who wants keep dual citizenship "somehow" legally. According to Article 14 you may actually give up one of your citizenship OR declare a single citizenship by "declaration of choice". Just write "Nationality selection notification"(国籍選択届), where you swear that you prefer Japanese citizenship and "will endeavour to deprive yourself of the foreign nationality". But after this procedure there is no deadlines, no requirements to provide any proof. The law requires that one 'endeavor' to renounce. If the law wanted proof of renunciation (or the impossibility of such), then it would ask for that. So you are good as long as you do not exercise your foreign citizenship within Japan or voluntarily taken public office in the foreign country (in this case you will lose Japanese citizenship based on Article 16).
In fact, since 1985, when the Nationality Law was reenacted, there was ZERO cases of citizenship loss forced by the Ministry of Justice. Some people actually gave up another or Japanese citizenship, because they did not know about loophole(that is why law made in such way). But people who knew about loophole just applied "Nationality selection notification" and continued to live with both citizenship.
P.S. There is another category of dual citizens - people who hided their another nationality from Japanese government from the start. When you, for example, apply for Japanese passport, there is a question in form about possessing other citizenship. People hiding dual citizenship from start have to lie to this question. And lying in official form is actual crime. While people who made "declaration of choice" can honestly answer. Since it is form of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - they have no jurisdiction over individual cases of nationality: that is reserved to the Minister of Justice.
P.P.S. So Canadian-Japanese girl actually were able to keep dual citizenship. Dunno about Naomi Osaka, since she is public person.

Here is the underestimated thing. You see a lot of Chinese comments supporting Russia, don't take it serious, cause we got fking 1.4 billion ppl. And you see a ton of Chinese comments supporting Ukraine, don't take it serious either, cause we got fking 1.4 billion ppl LOL. The similarities are in every field, like food, politicians, cars, nations whatever u name it. It's just so hard to describe China, so freaking big, and complex.

Thanks for making this video. These stories aren't shared enough, and people tend not to understand the hardships that adoptees go through, even while growing up in loving families. My home country, Denmark, is per capita the country in the world with the most Korean adoptees, and I'm happy to say that I've met and have close relationships with many people with such a background. It's clear to me that more needs to be done to give them a voice, because they are often marginalized and put in a situation, where they don't feel like they 100% belong in either country. Thanks again for another great video, I hope that Danielle, her biological family, and her adopted family all grow and gain and continue to grow and gain a lot from this experience.

I love the effort you guys make, I really do, I'm even one of the people who donated when Steve made that tough video, but I'm really hesitant on giving you guys a like on this video.
First, to get the most silly thing out of the way, you guys literally used exact same answer clips from 2 people in this video on different questions. 3:37 vs 9:47, and 11:19 vs 15:09, I mean really guys? Did these people really just gave the exact same answer to 2 of your different questions? Or was your editing just simply sloppy?
Now, onto the subtitles... Oh boy, just when I thought you guys are picking up the slack on this matter, you slap me with this video. I can understand some of it because whoever did the translation might not have a perfectly comprehensive understanding of local Chinese people. But you guys are putting words in people's mouth, and changing their words... 13:20 said China has over 1 billion people, each individual's honestly is important to the nation and to the relationships among/between people, he mentioned nothing about "having the credit system is important". He might very much agree with it, but it is not your job to infer what he meant beyond what he actually said, just leave that to the audience. 14:05 she said if they wanna transmit user data abroad, they must abide by national laws and regulations, she did not say "go through the government", these 2 expressions might be similar in the mind of whoever did this subtitle, but to general viewers they may very much be different. Why can't you guys just translate what they said as is?
With all these harsh things being said, I do appreciate that you guys tried to convey what ordinary people on the street think, and for the most part stayed out of biases with an open mind, I applaud you for that.

I want to say that it's really awesome for Asian Boss to open up the discussion about eating disorders and the topic of unhealthy beauty standards portrayed in the media. Really, it is so needed, so thank you!
Though I have to say that the discussion (about eating disorders and the pressure to adhere to these beauty standards/look a certain way) being directly followed by showing ways to control and manipulate the shape of your body is actually perpetuating the problem, not helping it. The focus on body shape and numbers, the feelings that are derived from controlling your body, your weight, your eating, using exercise not to feel good but to control your body - this is what the eating disorder IS.
By encouraging people with eating disorders to still lose weight, only in a "more healthy" manner, you are only playing into the mental illness, perpetuating the cycle and the preoccupation with controlling your body.
I can understand that if you don't have a personal experience of an eating disorder, or if you don't have an education involving the mental illnesses that eating disorders are, that it can be difficult to understand the connections between controlling your body in one way (that is societally deemed as something "good") versus another that is deemed destructive.
Eating disorders are so much more than just not eating enough.
As a person who has suffered from anorexia, and is in recovery from it, this was just so visible and painful as the discussion and message of the experience of the sufferers was so good and important, but that it was completely counteracted and misunderstood in the end.
It is a very important topic, but so many people are reluctant or afraid to open it up, so I want to thank you again for doing so!

4 brilliant strategies that Korean Gov did. 한국 정부가 한 4가지 정책
1. Drive Through Test
Protectong doctors by blocking the contacting and transmission of confirmed cases and keeps the hospital running.
2. Five day Mask split distribution
Designating a day of the week for individuals to purchase masks at pharmacies, increasing the rate of Internet purchases among young people to secure inventory for the elderly and minimize contact among buyers.
3. Patient level designation
Divide minor, serious, and high-risk patients into living-ward, general hospital, emergency room. So that isolate them and secure hospital rooms.
4. Confirmed cases wire notification
Numbering confirmed cases and announcing movement by securing credit card usage details and CCTVs under agreement.

I'm truly speechless in front of your heartfelt speech. Your words resonated with me deeply, and I appreciate your candidness about the challenges you've faced, most people may assume that because you've reached a million subscribers, you're doing ok, which is quite sad. Your dedication to bridging cultural gaps and providing authentic insights is truly inspiring. Despite the obstacles, you've remained committed to your mission, and that's something I greatly admire.
Massive thanks for reminding us of the importance of curiosity, respectful conversations, and broadening our perspectives. Your work is making a difference, and I wanted you to know that it's appreciated.
Thank you Stephen and Kei, the true Asian bosses.

This interview basically helps me to understand and getting a fuller picture, filling in the gaps why some asian countries without lockdown (Singapore, S Korea, Taiwan, Hk) are doing much better at flattening the curve vs those European & USA cities/countries that have selective or partial lockdown are still doing it badly. One of the main things pointed out is also "east asian culture" that allows invasion of privacy if the intention is for a common good vs the West individualism which would not allow app tracking done in the aforementioned asian countries. Also masks are more commonly used in East Asia but viewed with suspicions in the West. Mask helps esp for thsi virus because anyone is a possible asymptomatic carrier of the virus. I feel this video should be shown to all the european countries and USA there to give them a sense of what they can still do that's within their limits of comfort or what they are still lacking despite a lockdown. Eg. I see a lot people in USA/Europe should not wearing mask when they are with people in close proximity. This interview still has applicable use to Taiwan, HK, Singapore etc but most of what is said has already been done to different extent. Coincidentally, facing these east asian countries now all at the same time is a 2nd wave - imported cases from returnees. Good gracious...just when you thought u can heave sigh of relief, come a 2nd wave.....and it's difficult to say to keep them out, because they are the local residents or citizens, not short term tourists.

As a South Korean who now lives in overseas, I could say that I totally agree with those Koreans view. When I lived in South Korea, I was never afraid of war or North Korea doing anything really serious. They are not really that stupid, it's just a show to scare North Korean people so Kin jongun can secure his position. It's like a thug at school tries to scare all the students at school but he can't really do anything to serious. If North Korea does anything too far, it will be the world war 3. And I'm sure that won't happen. In that case, the fat Kim knows that he is not gonna win.
Most of the part is how media is making this tension, so they can get more attention for their media. I remember whenever I lived overseas, I was more worried about Korea and possibility of war, but when I was living in Korea. It was just too often that they always threaten but not really doing anything for over 60 years, so we all the Koreans know that nothing will happen.
And IF something happens, it's not about only Korea thing anymore. It will be the world war 3 coz there are too many foreigner living in South Korea. So don't worry, there is almost no possibility that they do anything stupid.

I’ve been registered as a bone marrow donor since my eighteenth birthday, which makes it 22 years now. I wish so badly I was contacted, as I would have gone anywhere to help.
Since I didn’t get the notification of being a match, I decided to donate for Sadie instead. I’m sending all my well wishes, and I hope with all of my heart a match is found soon.
Also, for anyone who is scared to do it, I promise you it isn’t painful. You are put under anesthesia, given pain medication whilst under, and just wake up a bit sore. If you keep up on Tylenol, stay hydrated, and rest, it’s just a bruise, and not as really painful. Honestly, if it allays any fears of people considering getting tested to donate, it’s more painful to have an ingrown toenail dealt with.

Go ahead and manage logistics, budgets, hiring/volunteering, content credibility evaluation, production quality, time zones, translation, etc If you're so good you should open your own channel. They are trying their best, and obviously bigger countries get the most exposure. When you get some correspondents from Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Yemen, Brunei and make a channel come talk again. People like you that don't know what it takes to produce a 10 minute video shouldn't really be criticizing. Is there any channel on YouTube doing a better job than them on spreading unbiased Asian awareness? Please list them down because I'd be glad to check them out. I suspect the next countries do be featured would be Thailand and Malaysia, maybe Indonesia, since they're one of the powerhouses in SEA. Maybe followed by Pakistan, Mongolia and Kazakhstan.

Been a business with purpose is harder. Deep respect. Know that you have fans who know you’re doing meaningful work😎~
Especially, the hard to monetize controversial issues, and important topics you guys cover.
Sadly, I have noticed, sometimes the best bosses, don’t make the best money.
The not great ones, suck the joy out of the joy of their employees. Wasting their resources on materialistic hoarding.
Don’t forget, not all think like that. The hate commenters. Ignorant on how life really works and how you are not making money like the Logan brothers who I do not respect at all. Who also lie to their own audience. Rip them off, too. But sadly, they’re "popular entertainment" to many who are undiscerning.
I know you’re real good guys trying to bring good into the world. It’s not easy. But you guys persevering is encouraging to see. You can do it, fighting!
Sadly, I cannot afford to support because of my financial situation. Looking for a part time job, while trying to grow my client list as a cat sitter, my passion as a Cat Lady for life❣️
But share your videos. Sadly, most people are not into serious topics. Even my posts about important topics, I notice low engagement. But it’s not bad to stay hungry and keep surviving.
Been too comfortable doesn’t mean true purpose.

It was really sooo interesting ! Thank you ~
Honestly it’s almost the same in Africa . I’m mixed , I’m half Caucasian and half African and since my childhood (till now , I’m a teenager) I was treated differently . Even in the street , like when I go out with my family or my friends people will look at me/ us in the street or call me and my sisters « whities » . And I’m serious , here in Africa it’s different than in America , in Africa when your skin is lighter people will treat you more like a « white person » than a black one even if we are (for sure) not white lmao but it’s how it is . And just like in Asia , having a light skin is a beauty criteria, so sometimes when people tell me that I’m beautiful I feel really embarrassed because I don’t know if they say it because I’m biracial and my skin is lighter or just because I’m beautiful ><
And just like the girl said , here too when you are half white ,people assume that you are rich lmao when it’s obviously not always the case ! It always happens to me when I go to the market with my mommy , they probably think « oh this black woman has a « Metisse »(a term used for biracial/multicultural people in French but used most of the time for half white/black) daughter so she probably has a rich white husband » and stuffs like that and they make us pay more
And idk if people will read this comment till here haha but here the half black half Filipino girl would be treated just like a half white half Filipino in the Philippine because here her skin is light

East Asian, preferably Japanese or a genetically close populations (Korean, Northern Chinese) and Northern European. That's the mix they're looking for, although in a few occasions, a match can be found in an individual with totally unrelated ancestry. The parents can also decide to have other children and see if one of Sophia's sibling can be a 100% match.
More generally, to help the tens of thousands of patients in need worlwide, any healthy person, preferably male (or female before any pregnancy), should consider being a bone marrow donor. It doesn't take much time to be registered and get tested and in any case it's unlikely you'll be contacted within a decade if ever. The donation consists in taking pills for weeks before a blood donation in most cases. In a minority of cases, a surgery is required to retrieve the bone marrow from the hip bone, with no risks besides the typical anesthesia-related one.

Donated a tiny tiny sum to yuri (I’m so far from being rich), despite the fact that I feel she’s not doing 100% of what she can to support herself financially.
I have friends who studied in Korea and they work part time in minimum wage jobs like becoming waitresses/sales assistants/other odd jobs....
However, Yuri here says that she can’t really do too much part time jobs becoz school work No being offensive, but, she’s studying in a language school, my friends was studying for their bachelors degree, and based on general knowledge the workload for a bachelors degree is higher than a language proficiency certificate/diploma.
Yuri says she’s earning USD 100 a day/per hour as a make up artist, but I’m guessing she probably does that on weekends only, and even that I am not sure if she’s working on every weekends.
Back in my university days in Australia (a long time back), I had a friend (not an Australian citizen/PR), who supported herself (living expenses+tuition fees) entirely with zero help from her parents while she was studying for a hair dressing course (a 2 years course if I am not mistaken). Needless to say, she worked like crazy doing jobs like storekeeping (she worked in a bakery)/cleaner/working in farms during long holidays..etc...., and, tuition fees for international students in Australia is definitely not cheap, and, living expense in Australia is very expensive.
Also, she knew for a fact that she can’t work full time legally in Korea under her current student visa status, if that’s the case, to be able to support herself financially in Korea by working full time, she should have applied for a refugee status months earlier just so she can work without any limitation on working hours.
If she’s on refugee status, she’s still allowed to study like a normal student in a college/university, and after classes end she could then proceed to work at least a few days each week in a store/restaurants/cafe for at least a few hours a day, then work full time on weekends since there is no limitation on working hours.
Also, I don’t get her mentality of not wanting refugee status becoz she feels that it’s gonna have a negative effect on her becoming an actress/model.
The only logic I could come up with, is that she probably feels having a refugee status is not-so-glamorous for an aspiring actress/model, and if that’s the case, I would say she really needs to put down her pride.
I am not a lawyer by any chances, but, I have lived long enough to know that Yuri’s statement of saying “she’s hoping not to get a refugee status becoz she doesn’t want to lose her Myanmar passport” is totally absurd.
There are quite a of Syrian refugees went back to Syria (why do they choose to go back to Syria despite being allowed to live in Europe is beside the point, but, to be honest, I don’t know the reasons myself as well) after getting refugee status in European countries. If Syrian refugees can go back to Syria, I don’t see why a Myanmar refugee is not allowed to go back to Myanmar, that is, if they choose to go back for whatever reasons.
For her own safety, It’s obvious Yuri cannot go back to Myanmar for at least the next few years. Up till today (almost 10 years after Syrian war started) Syria is a still a mess, most likely Myanmar is gonna be a mess for the next 5 years.
This means, Yuri needs to keep herself afloat in Korea financially for a minimal of 5 years.
As an Asian country, Korea is not like countries in Europe, whereby they give fairly generous monthly allowances/assistances to Syrian refugees, this even emphasizes the fact that Yuri needs to try even harder to keep herself financially afloat in places like Korea.
And, I am just gonna be very very honest with Yuri (she’s very pretty), that korea has a lot a lot of girls who are very pretty, which also means, if she is putting all her hopes of finding modeling work/acting jobs in a place like Korea, she’s gonna face very tight competition, thus she cannot be putting all her hopes in finding jobs in modeling/film industry in places like Korea, she might need to resort to doing other not-so-glamorous jobs (Eg: sales assistants/working in cafes) if that’s what she needs to do in order to support herself.
All I can say is, I wish Yuri the best of luck, but I feel she needs to think through a lot of issues on hand with a clearer head, and try to solve these issues without the unnecessary pride given the situation that she’s in.
She’s a very lovable+sweet girl (not to mention pretty), any business owners male/female, would be glad to hire her for a part time job.

Hi people, try to not binge watching corona news, keep urselves informed but without exagerating so u dont be anxious and stressed, it can weaken ur immune system, so keep urselves busy by doing fun thingd such as baking, drawing, meditating, yoga, workout, watching videos, netflix, sleep, listen to music while laying on ur bed and feet on the wall - learn a new language, make ur fav food and eat it, talk to ur family and enjoy meals with them, do ur assignment.
Stay safe and clean, dont worry everything will be alright very soon.
I hope u wont loose any close family member, and those who did im sorry.. Stay strong we are all with u guys everything will pass and go back to normal or even better stay positive 💜🙏

I don't think you should stop making your "light" Asian culture stuff about sex, dating, fashion, etc., but MAN, these North Korean interviews are fantastic stuff. Not only is it excellent current event stuff, it's also a gateway for youths (I teach 5th-8th grade kids history) to understand the Cold War, dictatorships, supression of information, etc.
Oh, and btw - please tell your interviewees that they made spoiled, hormones raging Danish teenagers sit still and think through almost 45 minutes of your videos... I think there's hope for the future yet...
Thank you so much, Asian Boss
Magnus from Denmark
