I love Helen! Gender ideology is a religion, and if the proponents of it would treat it like that we wouldn’t have any issues. Imagine if Catholics went around in public saying “Peace be with you” and then demanded everyone, regardless of their faith, say “and also with your spirit” back to them. If someone didn’t say this back, they would scream “bigot!”and try to ruin your reputation saying your a Catholicphobe. It’s like no, I’m not a bigot, I don’t hate you and I’m not afraid of you, I just don’t believe what you believe. Gender religion says “Trans women are women” and you are expected to respond with “Yes they are” or you’re a heretic. You can believe whatever you want, but forcing me to go along with it IS where the problem happens. Religions have a long history of hurting and abusing children, attempting to convert gay people, living in ways people outside of the religion don’t understand, and this religion is no different.

As a child, born as a female, I liked cars, trains, teenage mutant ninja turtles, boy style clothes, never liked handbags and shoes, and would have loved to have changed my name to a boys name. HOWEVER, I did not really want to be a boy when it actually came down to it, and I'm terrified for the young girls that are just like I was, if they are pushed down this route 😢

This was a very interesting conversation. It’s surprising that even after roughly 300 years since the Enlightenment and the rise of secularism, religion still remains a divisive topic, indicating that we haven’t entirely moved past it.
As a non-practicing Christian, with Jewish and Muslim relatives, I struggle to take sides. It’s crucial to advocate for tolerance towards different religions, especially considering the history of my country (Hungary), where Muslims once occupied a third of the land, and coexistence led to disastrous consequences.
As a woman, I fully support Yasmine’s viewpoint. Despite outward displays of friendliness, politeness, and civility, there exists a deep-seated hostility towards Western values among many Muslims. While they may desire to embrace the freedoms of Western lifestyle, their fundamental beliefs remain uncharged, and they seek to assert control, often leveraging the system to their advantage.

I have two ex-friends, (i culled them in 2018) one is a "grandiose" narcissist, he says what he likes, and he likes what he says. He had no boundaries, he always goes too far, and he always upsets people, for some reason, everyone gives him a free pass, over and over again. I finally had enough of him when he took the side of the second person, she is a covert narcissist, i ended up in a relationship with her, whilst i was at my most vulnerable. She made me feel completely worthless and miserable in no time at all. She carried on meddling in my affairs, long after we split. She manipulated other people to think certain things, and say certain things, she was like a chess grand master, thinking several moves ahead. It took me about 5 years to recover from all this, and i will never allow someone like this in my life ever again. ❤

I'm looking forward to this and "meeting" your friend..
As a disabled person (tiny violins) life has been effing dangerously hard at times. I wouldn't say it's been down to "micro-aggressions" though. Maybe I'm misreading what they are but I don't give a sh*t about micro-aggressions as my problems have been the in-your-face-prejudice-and-blocking-of-the-basics-needed-to-live. I had to fight to be fed, watered, clean, have human contact. That might not seem credible in the West but, believe me, it's been true and the lack of such nearly killed me.
As for the word "victim" it has become overused. A "victim" is, for example, a murdered child or an elderly person scammed out of their life savings, etc. Nowadays if you get Covid-19 you're classified as a "victim"...no, you're not a victim. Look at msm news reports as to whom they classify as "victims', it's bloody ridiculous.
There are still real struggles and victimisation out there and when we whine and cry about the non-things we disrespect those who really should be heard and considered with how we move forward.
Yes, everyone IS "special" but the problem is that so many have been told it is their right to be SEEN to be "special", and victimhood can publicly fast-track someone to that public status. Many people claiming to be victims just need to grow up and get some real problems...
...ooh, I sound hard but there's only so much poop someone can listen to.

The thing where Peterson elevates his language is called code switching by linguists. We all do it, and it’s a linguistic skill we all need to communicate effectively. We should pitch our language appropriately for the audience or interlocutors. Where it might be a problem, is if it is perceived someone is doing it manipulatively, for example when politicians like Tony Blair or George Osborne famously used Estuary English pronunciation while talking to factory workers, it was perceiving as a bit fake, they couldn’t quite pull it off. It’s possible that what you pick up from Peterson is some kind of ‘pissing contest,’ behaviour, where he’s trying to make himself sound more interesting than perceptive intellectual rivals. But to be fair, maybe he’s just pitching his language differently for Fry and Dawkins. Maybe he admires them as equally smart, and enjoys speaking to his perceived peers, or maybe he’s insecure and needs to show off. But these are all maybes. You’d have to ask him.

@jwsuicides8095 I agree. I am disabled but it never stopped me doing anything until it did. Suddenly I couldn’t work - or get out of bed, wash, feed myself etc then the ‘help’ was non existent or in a form which was useless.
I don’t care about micro aggression- being autistic I’d never notice anyway. I care about having dignity in my life. About having a washing machine, a cooker, a fridge, a bed, as if you are long term disabled there’s no saving up for these items once they break, and the promised help? You know what I will say. Micro aggression v a fridge. No contest. I’ll take that micro aggression for all of the white goods I need.Sticks and stones etc.
I now train dogs, when I can, including assistance dogs, - for medical alert and other tasks, so people can live independent lives.
Should be an excellent episode.

It could be detrimental for....society, the world...? Personally, I still don't exactly get what "identity" is. Is it the total of the social clubs you belong to? It makes no sense to me, maybe because I don't feel I belong to any clubs really. I'm Dutch but I don't particularly like the country, I'm a feminist but feminists often really annoy me, I'm a lefty but leftist parties everywhere have completely lost the plot it seems .....and so on. So, I'm just me...trying to find my way through life....and I think all of us are like me in that way independent of any ridiculous labels we like to stick on everyone, everything and ourselves. It's a really good feeling to be open, to just learn, and to change your mind in a major way every now and then.
That probably didn't answer the question, sorry not sorry I guess. I'm looking forward to this interview. I don't know who he is so I'll find out. I liked your interview with Graham Linehan and Maya Forstater. I've known about them for many years. I liked your straightforward, uncomplicated way of doing it.

As a Jew and an Israeli who grew up in constant war for genorations, I see peace as safety and freedom.
not being afraid to tell people who you are, no matter the time, no matter if it's in your country or around the world.
Ask Jews around the world if they really feel safe. Ask Muslims.
Jews, as you have seen in recent months, are not safe anywhere.
Muslims are usually not safe in their own countries because of their governments (Iran, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia...) that is why many of them become refugees in the West.
For some reason most muslims still choose to support the terror and dictatorships they fled instead of opposing it and exposing it.
maybe you should ask them why?

Thank you for your bravery, Graham. I have just finished reading your book and am sorry you paid such a high price for being an outspoken truthsayer.
I, too, sympathise with anyone with gender dysphoria and see them as separate to those who try to enforce the ideology. The ideology appears to be very politically driven with vested interests in the healthcare industry. Much of the ideology presents itself as being directly opposed to upholding the rights of several of groups in the Equalities Act, notably those protected on the basis of sex, sexual orientation and age. More distressingly, the moral obligations of adults for the safety of children in society is being sacrificed and children are being encouraged to exclude their parents and legal guardians in decisions around life altering surgeries.
Language is important and the erasion of the word 'woman' is an incredible and surreal place to find ourselves in. Language is manipulated when the narrative doesn't conform with current 'mainstream media supported standards'. And then the whole support base is described with negative, or objectionable, wording. You are described as an 'anti trans activist' by Wikipedia (which is untrue), and not a 'feminist'. We see it in the peace marches in London where those who march in support of a ceasefire are called 'pro Palestinian' or even 'hate marches' where the term 'Pro Peace march', attempting to save lives, is more accurate but harder to argue against. -

I grew up in the fundamental Baptist tradition, which interprets the Bible quite literally. As a university student, I read Dawkins' books and became a "militant" atheist. I've taught evolution and am now a PhD student in evolutionary anthropology. However, after reading Jordan Peterson and some works by Carl Jung, everything came full circle. Strong atheists have been missing the point, because they think about things too literally. I believe there are really no atheists, psychologically speaking.
Your god is your highest value. As I understand it, our ancestors' brains evolved in an intensely social environment. For this reason, we have a proclivity to personify abstractions, like nature (Mother Nature), or the state (Fatherland). Similarly, the deities of the great myths and faiths are personifications of humanity's highest values.
If you pursue a life of vice and indulgence, an ancient Greek, who lived in a time before materialism and modern science crystallized, would describe you as a worshipper of Hedone, the goddess of pleasure. Whether you are literally, or consider yourself an atheist, there is no difference.

around that whole conversation of "fairness", that idea is why i had such a hard time with Christianity for so long. I couldn't see how it was "good"/fair for humanity to have free will if the cost was most would go to hell. I came to the realization i was looking at things through my definition of good, or how this conversation put it "making everyone equal sounds nice". It wasn't until i let go of my self imposed moral authority over what the definition of good was, that i saw that, yeah, free will is absolutely worth it. It isnt nice, but it is superior to everything else. Then i was on to another question, that was inevitably next in line. Here in this conversation Carl is spot on. Western Society has come to see equality as the highest moral, but we conflate too many things into equality that it makes it okay to be jealous or envious b/c someone was born into a wealthy family. Did they earn that, no. but it opens a truly f''d door to put parents making a better life for their kids in the "unfair" box. The only way to make everything equal is to make it so everyone has nothing. B/c you can only lift the mediocre so high, but you can always tear the great down farther. Even in that case tho, the enforcers will inevitably have more. There is no communist Utopia. There can be no Utopias where equality is the goal.

Very interesting listening to Nina. I don't remember where or when I learned this, that the reason a man's libido is stronger than a woman's generally speaking, is simply a matter of procreation. The fact that we all belong to the animal kingdom and are classified as mammals, the sexual drive of the male must be very strong in order to ensure the continuation of the species. Obviously different men have different drives and not to exclude what women want, I guess what I learned was, at best, a huge generalization?
Andrew, in the gym shower don't consider yourself dainty, but rather more cultured and refined of manners. I work downtown, near a business park and campus and much construction. Why do men hock loogies? Because they have a need to do so. Most of the men I've encountered that do this are in mixed company and are discreet about it. But when men are in a group amongst themselves, their attitude and manner changes. They aquire a group mentality and feel safe to be themselves. Oddly I have never heard or seen a woman do this though. Andrew, within all of your travels including all of the people you've met and interviewed, I think you are a bit sheltered and that's not a bad thing. As for the curtains being open during the interview, I enjoyed watching the passersby. I thought it added to the ambience of the room. Looking forward to your next episode Andrew. Keep them coming I am enjoying all of these so far👍.

Hey Andrew!
Another fascinating topic, nature vs nurture, body fat positivity etc.
I found some of Dr Yeo's comments about how if we solved poverty then we would solve obesity interesting and wonder if you can follow on from this by getting a nutrition expert on to talk about the food we are actually being offered and marketed and how good for us it actually is, the FDA approval and requirements and the poisons that are allowed in our food and skin products as a result of the FDA's loose morals and guidelines, the direct correlation between bad food and bad health, etc.
I had a very traumatic early childhood where I was starved and neglected, and even once adopted into a new happy home where I was raised with everything I needed, I still have carried that malnutrition with me through life. I struggle to gain weight, I have a very low appetite and my body functions quite well like that, or so I thought. I then made a lifestyle choice to cut out all processed foods and cook from scratch as a way to save money, and all this has actually done is show me now how bad these processed foods were for me, because whenever I eat something not from scratch, I get really poorly and my body is in agony trying to process these bad foods. So its led me down the rabbit hole of food and I think its a really scary topic ince you start digging in and the average person is not informed enough about whats going into their pre-prepared meals that they're buying from the supermarkets..

My two kids are pubertating through life right now, boys, 15, 12
For us as parents it is scary sometimes, but all in all, we battle, talk and pun through it, they do grow in so many directions, the older very mono syllable-ish, the younger talkative and with an occasional flamboyant streak, lets see whom he loves or fancies in a couple of years…

Best video of yours I've personally seen - thank you and your interviewee for being brave enough to speak out about sexual abuse atrocities. Not sure about the McCann's though; if the father took the body (by hand), where's Madeleine's body? It couldn't have been left too far away from the incident, plus if your child had an accident, even after realising they were dead, you'd automatically call for help.
The Behaviour Panel, the top 4 body language analysts in the world, made a video analysis of the McCanns whilst they were being interviewed about their daughter's death. The outcome was that both were truthful in speaking about what happened that night and that their grief is genuine.
This is where my argument stems from, because when all four experts agree , I personally find their analyses hard not to believe. I think you'd find it a fascinating watch, whether you think these guys are straight or not, and decide your own opinion with your combination of expert analysis and open-mindedness.
Thank you again. 🙂

Very good conversation as usual! About the first discussion, on the relevance of atheism discussion vs gender wars and how boring they became, I think that most of the excitement in a discussion is due to the feeling of the other person being wrong, so qualitatively wrong that it is absurd to us how they could think something like that! The feeling that we have to explain to them how wrong they are is the main driver to actually discuss! It is the white-gold / purple-black dress again and again: people not understanding how the other side can be so obviously wrong made the debate burn like wildfire all around the World. But as soon as the first scientific explanation of the phenomenon arrived, we just lost our interest. We understood the other side, and there was no interest anymore to correct them even if we are not convinced at all.
I will debate a religious person if my atheism is challenged, but I would never enter in the discussion willingly in RL, nor follow a debate unless it is on a novel topic. Nowadays I mostly understand why most religious groups believe what they believe, and while it is absolutely not convincing to me it is also kind of irrelevant to my life.
I think that this is the cycle for most debates, the heat rises when we are unable to understand the other side, irrespectively of how irrelevant the actual fact is. There is more debate today about a tiny phenomena like trans women in sport (something completely irrelevant for 99.99% of the population, but something in which is very easy to think that the other side is crazy) than about much more relevant and wide phenomenons like gay marriage (even the pope - while not OK with them - is not so heated up about those). Every theme has a first moment of maximum confusion, in which the other positions look absurd because we did not consider all the arguments and we likely use different definitions, and it later cools down while we listen to the other side arguments and we understand what they mean with their words.

When Harry shared the conversation with Meghan, he explained it was said with humor and laughed along with the others who commented because it was obviously a lighthearted and innocent comment.
But Meghan was not about to let that opportunity go to waste. It was not to her benefit to ignore the innocent comment. It was much more convenient for Meghan to take offense and twist the comment into something ugly, something racial, which would fit beautifully with her victim agenda, too. By doing so, she provided for herself and the world, the reason why people didn't like her, as opposed to admitting the only reason people didn't like her was because of her personality and nothing to do with her skin color!
It was much more convenient to say they didn't like her because they were racists! It's a much harder pill to swallow to say nothing and let the truth stand on its own; people didn't like her for how she behaved and her obnoxious personality!
Wondering about someone’s looks is not racist! It’s innocent curiosity. Unless, of course, you are so feeble and fragile that everything offends you, in which case, “You poor pathetic thing.” Or, as in Megan’s case, she couldn’t fathom that she was unlikeable because of her personality. So she had to convince herself and the world that the reason people didn’t like her was because of her skin color, which is white, by the way!
I believe, for this reason, when Harry was asked about the racist RF, he immediately denied it. In fact, he said there were no racists in the RF. He then came up with "unconscious bias," which may have been Meghan's compromise when possibly arguing the matter behind doors. Harry may have argued that point that his family were not racists! But he was too spineless to come out publicly to defend the RF. Meghan would have had none of that. Hence, "unconscious bias" became the excuse, but not after Meghan let it run for years without taking her comment back. It was only when Harry was directly asked on TV that he allowed himself (having the excuse that he was asked directly) to "sort of" take back the comment. Harry is between a rock (RF) and a hard place (Meghan). He wouldn't dare infuriate Meghan by going against her and clearly stating his family was not racist. He did the best he could under the circumstances. Meghan would never forgive him if he had said they were not racists, so "unconscious bias" was the best he could do.
When my daughter married a Latino, I wanted my grandson to have his coloring. I guess I’m racist???
Just because you ask a question doesn't mean you're racist. I wondered about the baby's skin color. I'm fascinated with genetics and what we inherit from our biological parents.
It is only racism, in my opinion, when there is discrimination, degradation, or deprivation. Meghan was openly welcomed and very well-liked. Meghan was openly welcomed and very well-liked. It was only later when her behavior and obnoxious personality became evident that people stopped liking her.
Talking about a person's looks and features, or wondering what they will look like, is not racist and very common in families when one is expecting a child, especially when parents are of different races.

Glad I subscribed to Heretics. Thanks for another thought-provoking interview. If you hadn't listed your wide-rangingtopics and time stamps, I never would've guessed them.
Upon reflection, 'aliens' being the answer to 'what's next' makes sense to me.
There seems to be a continuing progression of people stuck in their tribal beliefs unable to see another side, with no will or ability to change their beliefs.
Once people increasingly separate from those outside their tribe ('the other') via censorship, cancelling, name-calling., is the next step dehumanization, seeing 'the other' as 'alien'?
If so, how is that better or different from oppression, marginalization or colonization?
Let's see if my comment gets removed or censored, despite having no PDF files lurking. OOOPS...

Hi Andrew Gold, this is the first time I have encountered your channel and already I am enjoying it, Richard correctly picks up on your reference to the fear thing, some of us have managed to see such emotions as being the product of internal metabolic processes that have no direct connection with external material reality, to put it simply it is fear that provoked attention, when frightened we look for things to be scared of!. Much the same applies to the personal reaction to uncertainty, we live in a culture that promotes knowledge and understanding as vital components for continued existence, nothing could be further from the truth!. Such attributes might be useful in the successful completion of elaborate construction projects but when it comes to the intrinsic value of such efforts there are many unanswered questions. Humans have lived quite happily on this planet along with many other organisms without very much knowledge or understanding about any of the ideas we now think so important.
We are still left with the underlying issues as to exactly how and why humans are so tempted to adopt all manner of outrageous delusions, so far the best I can come up with is that it seems it might be simple expedience, it takes but a few seconds to decide to believe what you have been told, it can take many many hours of careful critical consideration to establish any rational foundation for a concept. Human imagination is almost instantaneous!, reason is slow and very tedious.
Cheers, Richard.

I've been waiting for this interview/discussion to be shown on your channel, Andrew, & it was worth waiting for. It was a great chat between equals, sharing thoughts as we were once able to do so without fear or recrimination. We have lost the art of debate as many now live in an echo chamber only listening to that which they already believe.
To take your discussion on Transexual Ideology a step further... if one believes they were "born in the wrong body," that would imply a disconnect between the body & that which makes us human. If that is the case, wouldn't that be called a "soul"? If we've established there is indeed a soul, doesn't that prove that God exists & therefore religion is real (I'm thinking of Christianity, but the same principle would imply in other regions)?
I deliberately seek out channels on YouTube (I have no other social media) to gain a different perspective & have had quite interesting conversations with trans people, for example. I simply & respectfully ask my questions, not choosing to lead with my opinion & although I may not agree, at least we were able to conduct a civil conversation. People are very quick to shout at one another because we seem to have lost our manners & inquisitive nature.
Great job, chaps xXxXx 😊xXxXx
Edited for spelling.

another fantastic interview, Andrew.
As a citizen from the country that chopped its final absolutist king's head with a wonderful device called guillotine, but also as a person who has 25% British DNA, educated about the UK and profoundly anti-imperialistic, I couldn't agree more with Norman and the scandalous entitled behaviour of the British Royal family. I'm joking about the guillotine of course, I mean no wrong, but indeed, if the Brits are attached to their monarchy, then changes need to be done so they don't have such power unlike their continental European cousins.
NHS cut budgets, just like the French government does, let's be honest, but with obnoxious entitled royal spawns taking advantage of the tax payers makes me crazy. Those changes will maybe come with William, for he seems to be more ethical and aware although very loyal to his next of kin.
That said, keep up the great work.
Cheers from the other side of the Channel.

Congrats on a great interview! Interesting to see another side of Carl, in the parts where you're just having good conversation. But oh, how I wish you could have James Lindsay on next, to lay bare all the errors Carl made, and all the things he told you that weren't true. And Lindsay always brings the receipts. I don't know how or why, but somehow Carl has constructed a strange chimera that he calls liberalism, which he says leads to socialism, communism and fascism. But he's just soooo wrong. You may be interested to watch Sitch and Adam's livestream with Carl from I think Feb. 27, a different style of interview and so the nuttiness of what Carl was saying became more apparent. Did you know that ALL ideology comes from liberalism? According to Carl, that's true. Well, he did tell you that wealth is always shared (?????) so he gave you some obviously counterfactual statements, as well.

Fascinating conversation. Thanks, Andrew! If you're taking suggestions, please consider the amazing Abhijit Iyer-Mitra, a geopolitical expert who knows everything about everything about Russia, Ukraine, Israel, Palestine, India, architecture, Marxism/wokism, gastronomy and cricket. And he's gay. What more bona fide do you need for a heretic? 😊

🐟 06. CONSCIOUSNESS/AWARENESS:
Consciousness means “that which knows” or “the state of being aware”, from the Latin prefix “con” (with), the stem “scire” (to know) and the suffix “osus” (characterized by). There is BOTH a localized knowing and a Universal Awareness, as explicated in the following paragraphs.
Higher species of animal life have sufficient cognitive ability to KNOW themselves and their environment, at least to a measurable degree. Just where consciousness objectively begins in the animal kingdom is a matter of contention but, judging purely by ethological means, it probably starts with vertebrates (at least the higher-order birds and fishes). Those metazoans which are evolutionarily lower than vertebrates do not possess much, if any, semblance of intellect, necessary for true knowledge, but operate purely by reflexive instincts. For instance, an insect or amphibian does not consciously decide to seek food but does so according to its base instincts, directed by its idiosyncratic genetic code. Even when a cockroach flees from danger, it is not experiencing the same kind of thoughts or feelings a human or other mammal would experience.
The brain is merely a conduit or TRANSDUCER of Universal Consciousness (i.e. Brahman), explaining why the more intelligent the animal, the more it can understand its own existence (or at least be aware of more of its environment – just see how amazingly-complex dolphin and whale behaviour can be, compared with other aquatic species), and the reason why it is asserted that a truly enlightened human must possess a far higher level of intelligence than the average person. The processing unit of a supercomputer must be far larger, more complex and more powerful than the processor in a pocket calculator. Therefore, it seems logical to conclude that the scale of discrete (localized) consciousness is dependent on the animal's brain capacity.
See Chapter 17 to understand the distinction between enlightenment and mere awakening.
Three STATES of awareness are experienced by humans and possibly all other species of mammals:
the waking state (“jāgrata”, in Sanskrit), dreaming (“svapna”, in Sanskrit), and deep-sleep (“suṣupti”, in Sanskrit). Beyond these three temporal states is the fourth “state” (“turīya” or “caturīya”, in Sanskrit). That is the unconditioned, eternal “state”, which underlies the other three.
The waking state is the LEAST real (that is to say the least permanent, or to put it another way, the farthest from the Necessary Ground of Existence, as explained towards the end of this chapter). The dream state is closer to our eternal nature, whilst dreamless deep-sleep is much more analogous to The Universal Self (“brahman”), as it is imbued with peace. Rather than being an absence of awareness, deep-sleep is an awareness of absence (that is, the absence of phenomenal, sensual experiences). So, in actual fact, the fourth state is not a state, but the Unconditioned Ground of Being, or to put it simply, YOU, the real self/Self, or Existence-Awareness-Peace (“sacchidānanda”, in Sanskrit).
Perhaps the main purpose of dreams is so that we can understand that the waking-state is practically indistinguishable to the dream-state, and thereby come to see the ILLUSION of this ephemeral world. Both our waking-state experiences and our dream-state experiences occur solely within the mental faculties (refer to Chapter 04 for an elucidation of this phenomenon). If somebody in one of your dreams were to ask your dream-state character if the dream was real, you (playing the part of that character) would most likely say, “yes, of course this is real!” Similarly, if someone were to ask your waking-state character if this world is real, you would almost undoubtedly respond in kind.
An apt analogy for Universal Consciousness is the manner in which electricity powers a variety of appliances and gadgets, according to the use and COMPLEXITY of the said device. Electricity powers a washing machine in a very simple manner, to drive a large spindle for laundering clothes. However, the very same electrical power may be used to operate a computer to manifest an astonishing range of outputs, such as playing audiovisual tracks, communication tasks, and performing extremely advanced mathematical computations, depending on the computer's software and hardware. The more advanced/complex the device, the more complex its manifestation of the same electricity.
Using the aforementioned computer analogy: the brain is COMPARATIVELY equivalent to the computer hardware, deoxyribonucleic acid akin to the operating system working in conjunction with the memory, the intellect is equivalent to the processing unit, individuated consciousness is analogous to the software programme, whilst Universal Awareness is likened to the electricity which enlivens the entire computer system.
A person who is comatosed has lost any semblance of local consciousness, yet is being kept alive by the presence of Universal Consciousness.
The fact that many persons report out-of-body experiences, where consciousness departs from the gross body, may be evidence for the above.
So, then, following-on from the assertion made in the third paragraph, one could complain: “That's not fair – why can only a genius be enlightened?” (as defined in Chapter 17). The answer is: first of all, as stated above, every species of animal has its own level of intelligence on a wide-ranging scale. Therefore, a pig or a dog could (if possible) ask: “That's unfair – why can only a human being be enlightened?”
Secondly, it is INDEED a fact that life is unfair, because there is no “tit for tat” law of action and reaction, even if many supposedly-great religious preceptors have stated so. They said so because they were preaching to wicked miscreants who refused to quit their evil ways, and needed to be chastized in a forceful manner. It is not possible to speak gentle words to a rabid dog to prevent it from biting you.
There is evidence of Consciousness being a universal field, in SAVANT SYNDROME, a condition in which someone with significant mental disabilities demonstrate certain abilities far in excess of the norm, such as superhuman rapid mathematical calculation, mind-reading, blind-seeing, or astounding musical aptitude. Such behaviour suggests that there is a universal field (possibly in holographic form) from which one can access information. Even simple artistic inspiration could be attributed to this phenomenon. The great British singer-songwriter, Sir James Paul McCartney, one day woke with the complete tune of the song, “Yesterday”, in his mind, after hearing it in a dream. American composer, Paul Simon, had a similar experience when the chorus of his sublime masterpiece, “Bridge Over Troubled Water”, simply popped into his head.

'Simp' doesn't mean "someone who's polite to women", and men should avoid women who understand it to mean that, because they have a very warped view of what women are entitled to. A 'simp' a man who allows himself to be taken advantage of. He ascribes women superior value and quality, and will sacrifice his dignity, principles, money, time, and anything else he might have, in service of one or several women, often in the hopes of attracting their attention. The most primitive form of simp would be a man who ends up spending all his savings on an OnlyFans girl, in the hope and belief that it might lead to a relationship with her. A less obvious simp would be a man who takes on all gentlemanly virtues, even with women who have no ladylike virtues, won't treat him as a gentleman should be treated, nor will reciprocate in any other way. In short, a 'simp' is a self-made simpleton. Any woman who considers simp behavior to be mere politeness, i.e. perfectly reasonable treatment of women, is lethally dangerous, and will ruin a man's life.

The Christian church imagines Gods justice system is like the human justice system, where a judge accuses, condemns and punishes lawbreakers, but this idea is derived from the pagan belief that God wrote laws, man broke his laws, therefore God must punish lawbreakers. This concept declares God a lawbreaker, for one cannot burn his enemies in pain, suffering, agony and torment in hell without being unforgiving, retributive, punitive and lawless like us. And in this scenario Jesus came to save us from Gods punishment by becoming a live innocent human sacrifice, whose blood we offer up to appease Gods wrath, thus changing Gods heart and mind so that he will no longer torture us but instead declare us innocent, saving us from death. But there is another, unpagan, way to interpret scripture, whereby we first believe Gods law is his eternal character, therefore God is law-full, sinless according to the law like Jesus, and incapable of changing nor denying his law-fullness. If we interpret scripture through believing God is exactly like Jesus, we would conclude that Gods justice system is like a Doctors surgery, rather than a courtroom, where the Doctor diagnoses our terminal lawlessness and provides the saving remedy, which is a changed heart and mind, a born again experience where we no longer desire lawlessness but instead love law-fullness. In this interpretation Jesus came to ‘heal’ by showing us the truth about his fathers character and offering the free gift of his spirit to change us within, thus saving us from the sin which is destroying us. Therefore the answer is not to kill terrorists but to heal their hearts and minds in order that they no longer desire to elevate themselves by killing Jews, but begin to love others more than they love themselves. It is about time we brought up the subject of the character of the God we worship and serve because we do not have one true God here, we have many false Gods elevated to a position of adoration.

Andrew. I've watched a few of your vids and liked them all, but didn't sub. I don't often tend to even think of subbing, probably as I'm old school presub YouTube and it isn't on my radar. But also, I saw your stuff as so similar to the likes of Chris Williamson and Trigger, etc. to whom I am already subbed, that I thought I'd be getting more of the same and didn't want the clutter. However, this video has me one-inch-punching the subscribe button.
I'm so upset about the demands of extreme TRAs that I have landed on the full on terf side of this debate. But, this interview quelled that emotion and brought out some balance. I disagreed with Katy in a lot of ways, but you asked the questions I was already saying inn my head during the interview. You're becoming my favourite interviewer. (The legendary Michael Jackson bit helped immensely, I admit).
Please, keep more of the same style and guest. I hope for every success for you. I'll keep watching.

10:10 What I don't understand about the mentality of such men in that situation, is the same thing I don't get with the ones who raped black slaves. They viewed the person they sexually assaulted as subhuman, not even a person, nothing. And yet...they still...wanted to...have sex with 'that thing'? WHY? Where, in their mind, does that make sense? Of course, the culture itself makes men repressed, but it's not just about sex. The act itself seems to be regarded, in their minds, as the ultimate punishment/insult they could visit upon a person they deem less than human, whose existence is an offense/insult to them. It's bizarre. They think of women as animals, cattle even, they certaily afford them as many rights, and yet...they cannot fight their biological urges and the culture convinces them that they do it out of some moral obligation to met out punishment the way it was ingrained in them.
It's no surprise many people of other nations are cautious about who they let in. Never mind illegal immigrants, even the ones who come legally can bring in these abhorent elements of their traditions. A second-generation muslim woman was threatened with rape, by their own cousin, for not covering themselves on the streets of a European country. And that's an example from 10-15 years ago. Who knows how many come to the west, who don't want to assimilate on any level. And yet, they still leave their country and come to the west. Now, why is that? What in the west appeals to them, then? If it's as evil and bad as some anti-western propaganda might tell them, or some self-flagellating anti-western sentiment from 'lefists in the west' say.
19:43 - Maybe we should let gender-ideology take over in those cultures, so violence against women would stop, if no one would be a woman or a man, anymore. (Joking, of course - but could it actually lead to that?) Anyway, it serves to highlight what it can mean to be a woman in certain parts of the world, and both the woke, who are afraid to critize clearly abhorent parts of other cultures, and the women who are priveleged to live in a moderate version of said cultures (in the west), who say they have choice, their claims of freedom are an insult to all the women who do not have it, for who even wearing certain items of clothing is not a choice; to not even mention how they're treated both physically and mentally. And even when they're already in the west or other modern, moderate parts of the world, it can still carry over and hurt them.
And guess what modern cultural movement isn't helping when it should, because not only is it constantly concerned about the wrong things, not only is all of its focus always on either meaningless/harmless infractions or exaggerated wrongs, it also draws everyone else's attention to itself, away from things that should matter just as much, if not more.

Trans person here. I’m willing to share my thoughts based on my experiences, but I fear being attacked. Yet I’ll persist, hoping this might be a place with more people agreeable to learning. Crossing fingers.
Most troubling about this video, to me, is when Mr. Dawkins says, at 2:10, “Probably. I don’t know much about it. I don’t wish to deny that,” when asked whether “aspects of brains” are male and typically female. Brushing off that discussion as though it’s immaterial is utterly disappointing because – put simply – we ARE our brains.
Other than our few biological needs: food, water, shelter, and (for some) procreating, who we are as people is defined by how our brains formed and how they function. We are products of our neurobiology. And – very important here – for some few people, the formation of our brains as typically male or female, did not align with the biological formation of our bodies. For a through discussion about it, watch a recent lecture about this from Robert Sapolsky, neuroendocrinology researcher and author, who goes into detail about brain differences and what research is showing regarding brain formations of trans people. It’s a much more nuanced discussion than, “Probably …”
Bottom line is, how your brain developed and how it functions because of that development, determines whether you enjoy Harry Potter books, and whether you’re generous and kind, or cold and aloof, and what music ticks your box, and what foods you prefer. Your brain determines nearly everything about you. Understanding that is VITAL to this conversation. I could no more change my transness than you could change your dominant hand, or your sexuality. It’s hard wired.
If this is all a matter of semantics, that’s fine. I always describe myself as “gender nonconforming,” because that seems to disarm some hypervigilant folks. But the truth of the matter is, I present as feminine as possible (despite the male physical body I was born into) because that’s the way I find a measure of peace with the never-ending incongruity between what my brain tells me I am, and what my body tells me. It’s a helluva thing – it’s no damn fun at all - and I wish people like Dawkins and Gold in this video would stop discussing it as though this is an ice cream flavor preference, and educate themselves on the neurobiological aspect.

Giles Yeo is a brilliant, articulate, and entertaining guest. Your interview was also fantastic - it's great to see excitement, annoyance, expressing what many feel but would be too embarrassed to say rather than just someone who fires questions. Slim as a child/up to 40s, obese in my autumn years. When I've lived in countries with different 'food environments', less variety and almost no sugary snacks, weight fell and stayed off without any effort on my part and regardless of a brutal trauma history. Also, I noted with pleasure, high altitude eliminates appetite, so maybe I need a home with slight oxygen deprivation? 🙂And finally, I found slow but consistent weight reduction in countries with good social connection where you have to greet everyone you pass (typically hot countries.) I was not alone in these surprising outcomes and indeed some people emigrated to Asia or Africa, perennially maintaining a slim weight. The problem with gastric surgery is it's often yet another trauma inflicted on a person who feels safe in being oblivious to their body, though I understand the need. Bypass IS a medieval instrument. If only we could change the food environment, and actually get bored with repetition which I understand is one key, we'd be fine... like post-war, but so unlikely. Wonderful guest! He covered every angle, truly empathetic. Excellent programme.

What an incredibly brave interview by Andrew, i believe that represented quite a significant moment. I believe it is I incredibly important to reclaim this type of issue from the hands of extremists. It was interesting to hear a genuine attempt, that was rich in respect and good intentions.
It was incredibly interesting to hear these points put forward, between a person with black skin and a person with white. I thought Andrew was incredibly brave and sincere, she was staggered by the direction Andrew wanted to go, she seemed side swiped by it, I thought she showed herself to be intelligent, though perhaps not so thoughtful in nature. I felt that she seemed embattled, but believed in her heart he wasn’t racist, though her head was telling her differently, causing her to babble and continuously defend herself…..
I truly hope this gets lots of attention, however not sure how important I believe this issue to be, Andrew deserves credit for his courage and honesty.

Very good interviewing, I am so glad I found your channel! Thank you Mr. Linehan for standing up! You are not alone, many of my friends avoid me because of my jab opinion and gender laws, that are dangerous to women. An assault on our sanity is the most rational reality. I am happy that good men are standing up for us!
A lost generation, governed by politics and mass media! Where is the respect for women? Lost to Antifa. obviously, people that hate their parents, mothers especially.
In the Netherlands women don't seem to like men giving them attention, they see it as fake. I feel sad about that, I appreciate the manners of a gentleman, women should not see this as predator behaviour or sexual weakness we have intuition!. Women have other charms that they can give to a man that she loves: he might appreciate her intelligence, her stamina, her strength. he might appreciate her being a good housewife { very important job btw} the list goes on to the potential of a strong woman!
We should be encouraging kids to explore until they find out who they are, before surgery!

Have I Got News For You is an “Inner M25” show, those outside that area hate the Brexit, Farage, Trump bashing etc.
The P’s in Parliament was amazing, as you noted, only the bit players were being ‘outed’ as if to appease the public, the real players were protected 💯
Savile had unprecedented access to the Royals, the Royal brothers where one was linked to the biggest abuser of underage children in America, whilst the other was being given marriage guidance by a man who’d never been married, and, turned out to be one of the most prolific abusers of children in the UK. David Cameron went on TV to defend a list of possible ’names’ of child abusers in Parliament which was accidentally shown. He warned the then host, Phillip Schofield, who would himself later come out as gay, not to turn this into a witch hunt against homosexuals, I felt this was Schofield being warned to back off or a witch hunt would be unleashed upon he himself.

11:40 Andrew you're showing a pompous side there! I'm no longer a cleaner, I now work in accounts, payroll and HR. But I have been a cleaner at times through my life, it's a convenient job, usually easy to get if you got good presentation and a work ethic, active and keeps you fit, not very stressful, get to meet a lot of people and see inside lots of homes, hours can be flexible, your mind is your own your thoughts can wander as you work, don't need formal qualifications. It's got lots going for it. I didn't care that it didn't have prestige among folks like you. My clients were all respectful, I can't remember ever feeling personally disrespected while doing the job, actually. I didn't care about not earning bucketloads, I wasn't materialistic and I had and still have the belief that having more money doesn't make anyone better. I was young and cleaning fit in well with my other life choices at the time, including periods of study and living overseas. It gave a degree of freedom.
Love your channel and your thought-provoking discussions, by the way!

@andrewgoldheretics How so? The comment isn't stating that "male" and "female" exist on a spectrum but rather that "masculine" and "feminine" exist on a spectrum. Don't they? You'll certainly find many biologists who subscribe to this particular model of a spectrum not because of "religion" but because of research in neurobiology, endocrinology and clinical data.
We know from science that sex differences at the level of the brain account for a wide spectrum of behaviors -- sexual behaviour, aggression, cognition - etc. which are associated with sex/gender. These can be, and indeed are, evalualted along a "spectrum." (Consider, for example, the work of Neurobiologist, Dr. Arthur Alexander)
But one does not need to accept the "spectrum" model to observe a more obvious fact --- all humans have female chromosomes. Every human embryo has the potential to develop male or female anatomy and/or hormones. We do not have dog chromosomes. It's a poor analogy.
Your interview with Dawkins is for the most part, very informative. Other than the fallacious (and, arguably, dehumanizing) dog analogy, I think you do a very nice job with this famous scientist. However, this is not his field. If you're committed to open inquiry and exploring "heresies" why not invite a researcher or clinician to provide an alternative perspective, rather than dismissing any scientific perspective that is unwelcome to you as "religious drivel." Food for thought.

There is one version of the afterlife that is always a mysterious possibility, what if for example we are all really on a great big spaceship travelling in stasis, beikg kept young and alive, but we habe created a simulation for ourselves to live innwhile we are travelling to a far far away place to escape our previous homes destruction, or any such scenario where magic isn't needed, we might then live many lifetimes each as fresh as waking up from a dream where everything seemed different, and one daybwe might wake up upon our arrival to our new world rich in experience but youthful in body. This is ofc not very plausible, we have no reason to suspect anything of this sort or any alternative to be true, but what i like about the prospect of this kind of afterlife is that it just remains a mystery to us in the moment that doesnt really need an answer to take our lives seriously now, and you need not doubt rationality to imagine it, so who knows what "really" happens after death, if we don't fall asleep without dreams for eternity we will surely one day find out, so wenhave nothing to lose either way, other than in life now.

Proud Triggernometry subscriber / supporter, fan of Francis Foster. I don't want indoctrination in my education or my entertainment. When it happens I just daydream until it passes. The only exception is satire, well done (Monty Python, Ricky Gervais, Bill Hicks, George Carlin, Triggernometry RAW...) But these days good satire is increasingly rare and not well done.
American sports fans appear not to like virtue signaling with their games, and since it affects ticket and advertising sales, so that's slowly faded away.
Just a thought: maybe part of the uproar over JK Rowling is that her fan base grew up with her fiction when they were young, and they see betrayal in her realistic adult positions now?
In contrast, Gervais hasn't changed his focus from fiction to realism, and his fans know what they're getting.

There is a big difference between Men and Women in this World, and that is the pay gap, just look at the art industry for an example, Fine Art Galleries and Museums Worldwide have how many men within them? Well, Google says...
Why it matters: Female artists' work is a fraction of what's displayed in museums, but that's not due to a lack of women in art. By the numbers: A recent analysis of major U.S. art museums by researchers at Williams College found that just 13% of artists featured in those collections were women. On average, women earn 77 cents for every dollar earned by men Worldwide. At the current rate, it is estimated that it will take 257 years to close the global gender pay gap. In 2020, the European Union had the highest gender pay gap in Latvia at 22.3% and the lowest in Luxembourg at 0.7%. So, bring on the Woke's... if they can get the pay gap evened... because there is no more XX or X Y "agenda", and we all got paid the same rate on this Planet for the same job... that would be nice and maybe we could also think about the rubbish/ junk within the Worlds Oceans too! I'm a Ecofeminist Artist and I thinking about these concepts and issues all the time, and that's why I exhibit about various modernity issues and listen too. I have been looking at up- cycling within Contemporary fashion and especially the jewellery area... Now there is an other industry with a pay gap and gender problem... Fashion! Until we have "NO or KNOW/ PAY GAP" there will always be a "Gender Issue" peeps! On this Planet we are NOT all the SAME because of many issues but Karl Jung thought that we were all of one consciousness, so that makes us, all of one mind or is that mind set ... a philosophy statement or a Woke-ism nowadays...😉😊

Don't you guys remember that she befriended that TV lady (sorry, her name escapes me), a beautiful lady who I want to say had been married to an athlete...? Meghan was eager to have that lady set her up with British men, AND she also told the woman that she was not only interested in a British man but that she wanted him to be famous!!!! Meghan had been man-hunting, but the ones she was interested in wanted nothing to do with her.
In an interview Meghan did here in the US, a year +/- before she met Harry, she was asked: "As far as men went, which do you prefer, William or Harry?" Meghan hesitated and didn't answer. So the interviewer chose for her and said: "Harry?" Meghan didn't jump all over the opportunity and chose Harry because she was not attracted to him! She also didn't say "William" because he was already married! You should try to find that clip!!
If Harry had worked at a Home Depot store, making an average salary, Meghan wouldn't have even glanced his way. But dress up the guy as a prince of the UK RF, and she'll take him!

So, I myself didn't grow up in a cult per-say, but i did grow up as weirdo with Aspergers in small town louisiana. Went to a pentacostal church, held very tradtional views and was kinda indoctrinated into the "culture cult" and once i got out and started thinking for myself, became kinda a punk/goth type, and i really started to get the backlash for not following the "program". That exprience made me aware of the cult mentality, so i of course adopted pretty liberal views as a reaction.
I was called "faggot", "devil worshipper", , was physical attacked a few times, all that good stuff. this sorta galivinized me.
Fast forward to todays culture wars: I find myself at odds with both the left and the right, getting increasingly more extreme, and wondering wtf happened. Im kinda left in this odd camp where, well i can't get on with right wing people, beacuse they think im a satanic liberal weirdo, and the left think me a bigot. so needless to say, this has been a very refreshing discussion, its interesting to see other people, espically from cults or culty backgrounds, arrive at this similar position of "cant we all just be reasonable?"

Yes. So, to the point made about external indicators, such as long fingernails, makeup, dresses Etc are donned by trans females, for example, for the purpose of signaling their transition, and then arguing that they are the actual thing that they are emulating, ie, a woman; can it also be the case that a Caucasian can take on the trappings of being Japanese, by learning the language, eating the food, having their skin tone changed, having their hair straightened and darkened, having their eyes surgically altered to be Asian appearing, etcetera - does that mean that they are actually becoming Japanese, and does it mean that they now have the right to require Japanese people to accept them as Japanese? And if not, how is that any different from a man transitioning to a woman claiming that they are now actually a woman, or a woman transitioning to be a man, and then claiming that they are actually a man?

7:58 Peter] "We don't even know the best reasons for why people would believe the most rudimentary things about the root of the conflict of whom they disagree. We're not even at that stage yet." Some of us are, even if we are neither Jewish, Arab, or Muslim, you just have to listen seriously to the right people, and actually listen to them when they tell you, and I mean people who are steeped in the religions and cultures of the region - they will tell you. The Jews and the Arabs? It is a three thousand years old inheritance feud. It goes something like this.
The Hatfields and the McCoys moved into the Big Wide Valley three hundred years ago and have been feuding ever since Great Grandpappy Boyington died over which side of the family inherits Big Wide Valley. Great Grandpappy Boyington's Original Will from three hundred years ago clearly indicates that the Hatfield clan inherits Big Wide Valley through Grandpappy Hatfield, but the McCoys are allowed to continue to live there if they want, but that means they will be renters forever - at least so long as there is a living Hatfield.
The problem is that the McCoys are the larger and more populace clan and really, really, really believe they should inherit Big Wide Valley because of that, but so long as one Hatfield lives, even if it only a baby, that Hatfield baby will inherit Big Wide Valley. This puts the McCoys in the position of having to wipe out every single Hatfield down to the last baby in order to finally inherit Big Wide Valley. What complicates the matter is that about a hundred years ago the McCoys produced a New Will which allegedly states that Great Grandpappy Boyington really gave the inheritance of Big Wide Valley to the McCoys through Grandpappy McCoy, and the whole situation has been in court ever since, even though the most recent legal and scientific examination of the New Will indicated that it is likely a hundred year old forgery. So the feud continues.
Ok, it's not a exact analogy - so please cut me a little slack - but it does I hope shed some light on why the Jew vs Arab dynamic is so existential. I should add that Big Wide Valley as an inheritance is more than control over a piece of geography on planet Earth it also has a lot to do with who has preeminence before the LORD.

Human Women and Men, at least in the Western world, have equality. Both sexes are able to obtain an education, work in the same fields, earn the same money, based obviously on each person’s specific talents and skills.
There is still, and always will be, a huge biological gap between the sexes.
Only Men are capable of producing sperm.
Only Women are capable of menstruating.
Only Women are capable of producing ova.
Only Women are capable of getting pregnant.
Only Women are capable of giving birth.
Only Women are capable of breastfeeding.
Jordan Peterson is attacked quite a bit by people who have only watched a short clip, a sound bite, without providing context for his comments.
Most people are too lazy to actually read or listen to the entire interview or class lecture.
His sense of humor doesn’t always translate well.
I don’t agree with his opinions on everything, but the man is quite a brilliant clinical psychologist and educator.
Clinical psychologists have stopped trying to help people learn to cope with traumas, to give them tools for navigating life when things are difficult.
Instead, the psychologists today are keeping people in their traumas, letting them wallow, to continue to be perpetual victims and not encouraging them to take personal responsibility, to do the work, that will help them be healthier functioning human beings. A psychologist shouldn’t affirm every feeling that a patient has, especially when some of those feelings are self destructive or destructive towards others.
We are not seeing psychologists, paying a lot of money, for them to just agree with everything we say.
The relationship between psychologists and patients has changed into just another echo chamber.
He is not afraid to speak the truth, to provide facts, to give people a different perspective, to force us to look at certain aspects of our own lives, that we each can work on individually, to make our lives better without blaming others for our shortcomings.

@joelbowman23 My skepticism about libertarianism boils down to this. Looking back thru history, who gets power and then just lets it go? "Put me in charge of government, so I can reduce the power of government." That just doesn't sound credible to me.
In a utopian society we wouldn't need so much regulation. Sadly, for the sake of greed, people will put lead paint on kids toys, or cut education to save a buck, or let tainted food or baby formula or cars with dangerous defects out on the market, and so on, and so on. So we pay taxes, to fund a government, to advocate for us, where we couldn't advocate for ourselves. Of course there are abuses, and defects in the system, but it's still better than no system at all.
I think the fact that so many people dealing with trauma turn to things like drugs, and alcohol, and violent behavior, and so many other unhealthy outlets is sad. I also think it should remind us all that finding ways to help those people is an investment in our own society. I can't speak for the rest of the world, but in the U.S. there are so very many children who need help, and the resources just aren't there to help them. Until it becomes so extreme that it shows up on the news. Let alone for survivors of abuse who can't afford it.
So when a politician says he wants to cut government departments like Education, and Health, I'm not optimistic.

Mmmmm… I don’t know… the dupers delight is a smirk while the narcissist says something they know you won’t like - smirking while saying “no” is unkind at best and NOT the way to test for a narcissist…. Would be a way to upset … well, would upset anybody. Might not even upset a narcissist actually bc a narcissist hears what they want. Something as subtle as a smile or as obvious as a “NO” is inconsequential to the interior world of a narcissist.
I used to love this content, but I started to become suspicious lately, and when I last saw a video of this gentleman once again being duped by another narc women. He was going to leave his house and I guess, give it to her and he realized “no, I’m not doing this again! I’m making her leave” So he kicked her out. First; how is he a victim again so often, so badly? Second; in my experiences (twice personally, for it takes years to learn, unfortunately, but not many personal experiences to get it … and a few examples listening to friends), the narc never ever leaves. If it were so easy! You always have to be the one to leave, disengage, and go no contact. Guess it’s hard if you own everything and have to remove them. I guess that makes it more difficult… gosh, wish all the victims had that power

If someone goes around stating, "identity" + "superior" whatever that individual human is its a red flag, especailly like the peter papoffs and Kenneth Kopelands, we dn't make 1000 nonsense thigns to confuse peoples actual work, so they seed power over toa animalistic kingdom while neglecting their very own and means of a state, itsa mental state of captivity.. and most peopel its not about voting its about trust nad a relation isntead, people give over money to peopel rob steal and ensalve them.
Its not hate someone because of their identity, its...
Behaviour, their account to waht they say and actions. Superior is where superior is...
obviosuly this charade of pretenders has been aweful for most humans and tragic... abused form og trust form narcissism that palgues people. YOu can investigate artists etc, taht bcome famous or before. Great balls of fire.. Sick humans but not all are like that, genuine passion to create... its jsut ... money can be a poor substitute for aparetn and enable thigns that you aren o logner held accoutnible whihc would be self destructive to the conscience, but you ahve ot keep in mind it owuld be odne from a outside position of that is engineering a perosn. If you contorl the entire economy. and the moeny suppyl. you look like your living humbly, but are predator ready to accuse the person you control all aspects aroudn htem, money home etc... adn in relaity, here, teh good, and human core is abused, and its engineered that way ot state tehy are wiced, but really anaylze this messed up psychology. We can look at the camerons and other groups and narcissism, while they plunder they deny legit humans work, because its not for them to have those positios ntheir father had, because the system is about robbing the house and hten giving it away, and contorling every part adn then killing off thorugh attrition of lawful upright people. The new world christian order has been ongoign for centuries hteir body count is massive, and infectious nonsense takes over, and its far form the rule of law and puts peopel ina state of ocnfusion, IE gnosis chrsitians the jew,s the .. chrsitians ahve a tonne of denomatinatiosn that killed each other before jesus... tehir messianc figure.. their father is a liar and etc... jesus pretty much scolded the jews and scolded the christians.. So stating your part of a cult means you didn't get the message of what it is to simpyl be a good person... good isn't giving.. when you feed your crops... if you over feed they die.. etc. but hten its aposition of slaver,y if you destroy al lthigns and oeprate confusion you destroy things... and most of those things are taken over.. I look at my life.. regardless fo where I apply. it is abudanntly clear. I am not to be accepted anywhere unless its udner hte boot of the most heinous humans it seems, full of lacking kwoledge of hetir actiosn ,scu has takign neuro toxins.. its hte celebreation of nonsense, whislt the worship of like new yokr Cuomo and hte lgeion of endless females that eventaully if they ahve a cell have kids, then neglected al lteh core values and males that buitl hte system joiing in a legion or brigade of nonsense.. its pretty hard ot do anyhting ina systme with out its mark, tis harder when psychologists and or peopel are accusing you of crimes you didn't commit and htus generate you to go crazy. that is an abominable act to another perosn. WE cna follow writers and other groups influencing society and parading police and creating a nosnense systme, while the 100's of cults... for whoever god, seek to kill peopel over phoenetics, rather hten dicern oh shit that person is alread ya good person.. and discuss behaviour , they create what hte cathars do social ostracization china nad many tribal systems do this, this isn't modern, and seeking to heal a person and discussing thing rationally... the virus is like "freedom" rather then converse... so the mind rebels towards a false system of freedom that is mortal decay, death and aboslute and suffering.. whereas the prior is uplifting and healing.. British columbia has complained about doctors forever, but denies me educaiton and funds and allwos hte funding of BLM and other groups and other groups also targeted my father for not drinking alcohal its a very abusive system in this land and they the writers nad oterh groups give all sorts of cruel malice in their teeth for words ot justify their lawless nature unto others ot furhter compound their arrgoance and cruelty unto others. LIke wimp, etc, thus enocuraging a relatively safe existence into a more diabolical or dangerous one, as they build empires on human flesh muc hakin to the lawless nature of china, piling their own pepel in teh wall of china... its like at some point you walk away form teh said madness and cruelty... it doesn't change.. its still goes on today... Regardless of your miltiary history or actually giving a fuck... lol
Jews hated...
Most people hate useless identities.... because it doesn't allow us to classify.
Like Doctor __ of _ etc.... gives meaning... if you african, american ,european... white, black its a useless identity for hte most part in how we operate...
Howeve,r governor is typicalyl some trained in governoring, thus principles of law and order adn civil works and mangement. The question is when a person or group neglects of moves and then denies peopel works and their simple for a skae and hten for whatever raosn out of a inner bent rage, controls the governoring positon to vioalte the law of the land, it creates backlash because it is epxlotiive rather then upholding of law.. rather hte ngoing out.. it becomes worse. when theft and arroganceis invoeld it creates more problems. IE canada.. migration or the ocmmon welath... while asia controls the ecoomic imports an the factories are destroyed in teh west, we are subjugated ot inferior, laws or qualities... their quality is face, not real since its stolen and each act is na act of war.. teh quesiton is do you retaliate against these gnerational vioaltions of the law and community? What is peace.. when antoher system jsut over runs you... there is ficitonal and other means... the arrgoance of some of the financial criminal groups and targeting of whoever they like is not really a lawful system. One has ot wonder then at the value and the changes in crime to their typical crime systems, which is weird, like acid attacks ot knife attacsk ot bombs ahve a cultural system of strangeness ot financial support crimes.. (buck stops here - michael ignatieff)..
Reflection of ones life and the denial of it.. yo ugo to a city of millions and you feel alone... denied works and life, unfavored by the medaited nonsense... while peopel laugh and play while the works are not done. GO to a small town, over run with migration and peopel yellign racism suddenly and the women castrating the males in the region not to act, atleast some had a head, IE the girl from england and vicotm services an hte emxican crime form te hdemacgraphics again the land owners caliming chrsitian and then seekign the poorest peopel with no scope of law and then exploiting them and apying htem little and or housing them for free and feeding them and then paying them marginal... whereas local person gets neitehr good pay or those things affilaited.. SO what we ahve is a externtial national system of epxloitive nature. On top of that we can advanced any of these systemsbecasue its all private and no logner national... so its a individual tribal thign tha trelies on a market of nonsense, adnthat market is over consumed by cirminals...
So... hatred... I don't htink I know this emotions because peopel say its a strong emotion, like I get angry, but tahts not hate apparently... So... I use the dry wall analogy.. Nothing is evil.. its a good quality or a poor quality.... using money and denying peopel life and or communtyi nad or learning to particapte is a suffering scam of psyhoctic civlisation or group of humans that utlize every mean to cause suffering from their iamgination to others with no evidentry proof of any criems jsut simply as is and the. Its bizarre system for sure... most of these polices certainly don't help the inflational nonsense... the nwe have the same q of other nations that act liek war tribes and create every angle of nonsense against other groups... its not very prodcutive.. and hten we have people talking about war... as an evil.. war is now and is happening in teh past... if you don't kill ILlogical nonsense when it grows or stop it.. then it goes about destroying in every form... of others... deny peopel educaiton... tehy go to whatever is left to feel something which is foten madness for females, liek witch craft nonsense. IN BC< there is an entire engineering core to rob people, but education itself is denied, and we have closed collective markets.. so regardles of pagan or whatever cult is on this planet.. I don't care for your identities... The truth is OVER this world... and in it.. and around it.. but certainly not in the imaginations of many that create cults like theme overlays... Themeing is good for an aaspect of style... but often doesn't really have a meanign since hteonly meaning is in the data to construct a concrete pillar.. etc. IE the formula. the shape is irelevant unless you choose ot make it have afunctional relevance to its incorpation wit ht surrounding reality.... that the ntakes applciation of information ...
So.. identity of something in most cases only matters when it carries a meaning that has afuncitonal and operation sense... but meh... peopel relaly don't care.

Great insight, thanks.
I'm so thankful that I'm an old man that doesn't have much more time for this modern foolishness. Back in the day, I grew up without much socializing and am still socially stunted, a bit, (needy of practice, I suspect, haha).
But my common-sense reasoning and identity empathy for & with animals comes/came from my silent communication through BEHAVIOR OBSERVATION, which is what is missing in this modern world, among other things.
People talk way too much, present company excepted, haha.

@andrewgoldheretics I appreciate the reply, and I know you are. But as regards the "belief" in, essentially faeries, of course I never forget that (very) smart people held religious beliefs (mostly because they rarely let us forget, themselves), but I have yet to hear a (very) smart reason for their holding these beliefs. So far, and I am not young, every reason they have given for "belief" has been at worst awful, and at best, childish. It is like they save a partition of their mind to reason terribly when it comes to religion, and I know you know what I mean.

Good interview. I can't know the mind of a trans person, but my suspicion is, on some level, most of them know that this is just fantasy. A man cannot truly become a woman, a woman cannot truly become a man. It is literally biologically impossible. I think that is why a lot of trans people remain hyper sensitive and fragile about themselves whenever their fantasy is questioned: Because on some level they know it's a fantasy. I get that some people really wish they could be something else, and how the idea of trans makes them think their wish can come true, and they will finally become happy. But what they TRULY want is to become a REAL man, a REAL woman, and I have to think that, eventually, the realization that they have to take drugs for the rest of their lives to maintain the illusion, that surgically altered parts of their bodies are still just fake, that it's all surface level, and that after all of that most of them STILL don't really look like they have transformed into the opposite sex, only achieved a level of uncanny valley... I have to think that has really got to wear on them. It's like a big con that the trans people are performing on themselves, in addition to the rest of us. It's tragic. If only they could instead learn, Mister Rogers style, to be happy in their own skin, to accept themselves as they are. Who knows, maybe someday the technology will exist to truly genetically turn one permanently into the other... but that tech does not exist yet.

Why does it have to be one individual? Can't a mutation happen more than once? Isn't saying that it "has to be" one individual like saying that everyone absolutely and definitely has distinct fingerprints? It's unprovable, isn't it? I'm not suggesting that there is any sort of design, but couldn't a helpful mutation happen more than once? I don't know; I'm not a biologist, but it seems to me that, say, a bipedal primate, just for one example, might happen more than once. Again, not that bipedalism is immediately beneficial, but it could have happened more than once. Maybe if we go back far enough, we do all come from a single worm, or more likely, a single prokaryote, being completely ridiculous, but for the stupid "we come from monkeys" thing, does a mutation really automatically imply that it only happened once? This is a legitimate question. I'm no theist! But I wonder.

Btw just a fun little thought about evolution pf language faculty, Noam has said something like the structure that generates infinite possible ideas has to evolve very dramatically and rapidly, i think that is sort of right but not quite, i think the base capacities come from the structures that allow mamals and birds and a few other species to flok or to be social creatures, to communicate with each other and play, and all you really need to go from that to being able to understand thousands of words is s gradual even of rapid change to a richer version of that, to be able to view things and processes the same way you can have a relationship with another member of your pack so to speak. And then the vocal chords and externalisation faculty in the brain to evolve rapidly once the advantage of this kind of communion takes hold. Take dogs, some dogs can understand a wast number of individual words to at least some degree of detail, like the difference between sentences about one toy vs another. What is interesting about dogs is that we domesticated them for complex cooperation, while some other animals we domesticated somewhat more passively, horses might aøso be interesting. But it would ve really interesting to look at the difference in capacity to understand words and sentences between dogs and wolves, that might gain us some insight into the pre-verbal development of language capacity, ofc primates like gorilla's are also interesting, they also have some primative language Capacity, birds as well in a very different way, but i think wolves and dogs are very interesting because they essentially coexist wild And domesticated, if there is a large difference in capacity it might have interesting implications for our preverbal evolution of language capacity :).

Now lets imagine there is a god, and there is sort of a version of this kind of afterlife only with unbounded design so to speak, for surely a god would be able to make all of it somehow make sense. Then i think misery and unfairness in life would have some other side of the coin ultimately, for each victim as well as lessons within life, but in that case it would also have to be hidden for us here in this life or we get into trouble like people believing that suffering is illusion and treating people horribly is as good as anything else, the only way for us to know this life matters and our fellow creatures should be treated well is to say it is not meaningless and easily replaceable, so no matter what is actually true about an afterlife i think it is necessary to take the good seriously in this life as if the possibility of something after is not possible, even if it was garuanteed. Ofc this has nothing to do with god, it has only to do with what we value and how we live, and what may come after we shall face or not face whether we like it or not :) the wonder at the end of the world is open, it is not necessary to choose to believe or disbelieve in some spesific account of what comes after the fading away of sensation, it is there or you won't know, so when you are there in the end don't feel compelled to deny or submit yourself to a desire to believe, wonder is enough, without prejudice, like a small child waiting to fall asleep wondering what dreams might interdict before waking.

There probably is methods that allow faster than øight travel and communication, the second following from the first pretty much, so there is always the possibility. But i think life is quite fragile andnit might very well be that civilizations that are advanced enough to contact us are thinking that is is best not to give the orangutangs guns until they become peaceful and grown up so to speak. Ultimately life that is Darwinian needs sustainance and pursuit of their instincts to be content, we have desires of knowledge and social standing and so on, like other animals a desire for fun, friendship and love, but also darker things, and i think at the point where you have to power to do whatever you want pretty much, what remains is just having a good time and pursing knowledge, exploring and so on, i don't think just dominion over nature is particularly interesting at that point, and so they would probably see us as interesting but ultimately very childish and brute, and so would either watch over us ornleavenus completely to ourselves until we grow up. I don't think they would view us ornour planet as resources like in the movies, if we where a lot more advanced we could just mine the moon and get whatever we needed from fusion energy or the moon. We wouldn't even need to look for sources of anything that is inhabited at all, there is plenty of resources out there on dead rocks for anything you could even want to do. If you think about it evennour level of automation is sufficient to automatically mine the moon, build spacecraft and increase our supply of any particular element by any factor we wanted, as long asnit isn't something non rare ofc. I suspect that advanced civilizations eventually figure out how to use their moon for energy and materials for their scientific and industrial endeavours and then they simply curate their biosphere and develop into space with ever more elaborate projects.

I feel like religious people get stuck in some kinf of religious feedback loop where they are constantly reinforcing the idea of god on themselves, maybe not every religious person, maybe just the ones that think there is an all seeing all knowing god that knows that you think, so they are terrified of not believing and have to constantly reinforce their belief on themselves and done dare even question in it their heads?
Maybe I am wrong. I was just thinking of when I stopped smoking years ago using hypnosis, its the longest Ive ever quit smoking in my life but I was constantly telling myself that I didn't need to smoke while a part of my brain was thinking I really just want a ciggarette lol I was always pretty crazy anytime I did stop smoking. I stopped for 18 months the first time using hypnosis then started again for a couple of months, went back and got hypnosis again, it worked for a month or so, went back again once or twice one time to a different hypnotherapist but it just didn't work anymore and I got sick of the constant in my head debates with myself about not doing it and just decided Im never quitting again lol
I just feel like that whole thought process of arguing with yourself almost with two opposing voices and even sometimes mentally stopping yourself from thinking a certain way even though that doesn't work is similar to how hypnosis works on you psychologically & wondered if it was similar to what a lot of people think in their heads about religion, some even to the point of being so scared to even think something cause they think "god" is listening.! Apologies for typos and if I re[eated myself , done it in a hurry and will fix later, was busy rolling myself a "cugarette but the above brain fart happened and I had to strike while the iron was still hot.

2:13 I have to agree with this, my life has been full of new inventions, and a fast moving advancement in all sorts of fields, from Video recording to mobile phones, to the internet amongst other amazing new inventions, but I think that we are just about to move into a whole new place with homes that produce their own power, and cars that will be aware of everything around them, we are finding ways to clean the air, and even the oceans of the harmful things we have put into them, and most of this will happen after I am dead, so I will miss all of this, I am just getting solar panels and an electric car, but we are so early in this development, even battery tech is still harmful, but I am confident that this will change as well, we are slowly moving into a bright new world. At least my children and grand children will see all this

Dawkins is always interesting. Critical thinking is valuable, however, to quote Lisa Miller PhD, (she is on YT) there is physical, reproducible evidence for spirituality, but notes that academics have walked out of her evidence-based lectures. By it's nature, as quoted by wisdom and lived experience, closing one's mind to "God" will likely result in no experience. Dawkins @7:49 states that "you can't will yourself to believe". Because he has not lived the experience, he is closed. You can "will yourself", you just need to want to. It's having an open mind to start off with, and it appears Mr Dawkins has already made his decision. Many very smart people have Spiritual beliefs. It's not stupid, it's a choice to make.

I've come to disagree with Richard Dawkins on the question of "I would not want to believe a falsehood".
Thing is, I think it's quite easy to have a statement that is 100% true and yet devastating to believe. For example, there is a great natural catastrophe, and you're caught in it. Most likely, you're going to die, and it's going to be very painful, and the chances of you making it out rather than some other person is very slim.
But the survivors of that are the ones that believed that they could make it out, and didn't just lie down and take it. Imagine people rationally think that situation through and think... okay, well, I think I'd rather take poison than be trapped under rubble for three weeks and slowly rot away, and that reduces my personal suffering.
In that moment, I think having this crazy belief that you can survive is the most beneficial thing you can have.
The thing about religion is that from an evolutionary standpoint, it HAD to be a positive trait, because consistently the civilizations that were religious survived, and when times got tough, people got more religious, not less. Truth does not necessarily make for good evolutionary strategy. I can't bring myself to believe in the literal truth of Gods and miracles and prophets and afterlives, but that doesn't stop me from being religious in the sense of believing that there is great value in the morals following religion. We still don't understand NEARLY enough about humans to really comprehend what we're messing with when we change everything about our environment in less than 100 years.

As someone who has technically died, twice , then brought back, following a road accident, I have been asked a couple of times if i remember seeing or feeling anything.
I would have veey surprised if i had....there was no dad, waving from a shining gateway, with my childhood dog at his feet ( do animals get a shot in heaven? They were in the garden of eden, weren't they,?)
No, as i would have predicted...nothing....just oblivion. Exactly how i imagine a sentient creature would feel , whos life system have been stopped.
Its possible that drugs i was given following the accident did wipe all memory of it i suppose.
As someone who has been an atheist since about age 5 , the experience is exactly predictable.
It may be in extremis, we experience what we believe and a devout believer may have different sensations, i dont know. I can only telate what i saw and felt....which was nothing.
I dont have any problem with this. Eternal existence doesn't have that much appeal, to be honest. Only if i could have different lives, would i want another, i think.
Im slightly surprised that dawkins has devoted so much time on it....i think its to try and balance the relentless religious belief systems that people adopt.

I hold (among many others) Richard Dawkins in very high regards, and I do so even though I firmly disagree with his stance on what it means to be male or female, and I do intend to devote the bulk of this comment to that issue. But first I'd like to say that it's a true statement that even the smartest people are not experts on all things. And when speaking about what it means to be male or female, Richard is simply treading into areas that he doesn't understand. If I'm sad about this, it's only that Richard has demonstrated an open enough mind to understand many non intuitive things in his field, yet he immediately reverts to a closed position when it comes to something he's never really studied. There is a cautionary tale in this that I truly hope folks take away.
Regarding the main topic, let's get the easy stuff sorted first. Are there some people out there that say things they don't really mean for their own ends? Yep, there sure are. Are there people out there that say things because they are genuinely confused and in the end, they're just trying to figure things out? Yep there sure are. But I submit to you that these types of people when it comes to gender identity do not represent the majority of people who claim a gender that they were not born with the customary parts. And Richard's statements on this issue is painting with a planet sized brush.
Consider for a moment Siamese twins. Or people who are born with part of a non viable sibling sticking out of them, or any number of genetic abnormalities. Next consider that hermaphroditism is a real genetic condition that happens. We KNOW these conditions are real in genetic terms. So let's jump a gap here and consider an otherwise genetic man or woman that claims to be the opposite sex. Here things are more nuanced and less blatantly obvious. But consider, that people who suffer chronic depression don't choose to be that way. People who suffer from bi polar don't choose to be bi polar. Is it sincerely that hard to see that someone born genetically one gender feels at the core of there being that they are the opposite gender? Nobody who truly experiences this chooses to do so. For the majority of people who experience these things, it's not a choice to be gay or trans. Any more than people choose to be depressed or bi polar. You can't tell some to choose to be something they have no choice in. If you truly feel like you were born in the wrong body, you can't choose to feel differently. We know hermaphrodites exists. Why is it so difficult to think that in the process of creating new life, that wiring in the brain gets muddled with. Do you honestly believe that someone would choose to go through what many Trans people go through because??????? Because why? I submit that people like Richard Dawkins has no clue what it's like to be Trans. What it means for a Trans person to be trans. Because virtually nobody would choose to have to navigate those waters if they didn't have to. We are into an area where we are talking about how the brain works. And how the brain works is something that even the experts don't fully understand. Richard Dawkins is not a Brain expert. I had an uncle who stroked out during an operation and although he lived, he was genuinely a different person on the other side. I mean a truly genuinely different person. The man I knew as my uncle effectively died on the table, and the person that emerged was very different. It was like this person shared memories with my uncle, but was otherwise a whole new person. And not in a good way either. Something happened in the Grey matter that fundamentally changed the character of the person I once knew. I'm sorry, but it almost seems obvious to me that the way a person's brain is wired is what it is, and we have very little say in how the Grey matter is wired. For the most part, if a person says they are different from their body, then I say in the Grey matter, that's their reality. And we have no right to tell them their reality doesn't exist. Any more the we can constructively deny the reality of people suffering from depression or bi polar. Or we can deny the reality of what my uncle experienced.

It’s frustrating watching you guys being in the present, I just wanna join in the conversation soo bad 😝US banning their version of tictok, some US podcasts believing the Chinese are using it to spy. It’s because of all the hate rhetoric posted by a lot of young Americans.
Every country seems to have their own version. In Aust. It’s banned from parliament, dunno why but I caught a young Aussie fruit worker using it to spruick their family friendly prices over big supermarkets 😂. Andrew, you are by far fav podcaster, by a country mile because u use words like ‘willy’ & rambunctious when referring to Katy’s breasts ☺️& watching this epis now, you’ve just cemented your position as front runner. by not condemning the MCCanns so readily as many have done. Point is, we don’t know, it’s still all guess work. Our famous case, Lindy Chamberlain was imprisoned for killing her baby Azaria, then the matinee jacket was found, a dingo did indeed take the baby. I listen to you on Spotify too, incredible guests, like sitting in your loungeroom. Only down side, I feel left out & end up talking to my telly 🙄 ooh, sorry I muppet on, I’m aware but your velvet jackets are a winner too, very Doctor Who ☺️🇦🇺 ok, done.

I LOVE this woman! Jeez, she articulates so well the many, many things I would like to have in my goody bag when confronted by idiot loser people who will argue that black is white and white is black. I really wish I had her depth, and recall. I mostly know what I think, generally, but I am not always equipped to debate eg what this whole hour of talk is about. I know I am an evidence-base/d man, a man of science. And relevant here - I stayed at home with the kids, did the part-time work as they grew older, cooked most of the food, even grew half of it. I baked bread - I still do, and I'm 66 now - and cleaned the house, did the laundry, kept the garden fairly tidy. Many people commented on my 'feminine side', my gentleness when and where required. BUT, I also maintained the car, and fixed many others' cars too, was a carpenter for many years (which means I still am btw) and knocked walls down and fitted beams and converted lofts. At about 37 I became a yoga teacher, and spent the second half of my working life as a full time teacher of the subject. So am I a man or a woman? I do believe, no, KNOW I am a fully indentured man. I never identified as a woman, or as feminine even. I was a muscly, tall, heavily bearded - at least until age said otherwise - but flexible (no yoga pun intended) male, who has always loved, sexually, only women. In the 70s and 80s so many people liked to trot out these numbers: between 5 and 10% of men are gay, and probably more. That is to say, that there were far more gay men, or rather, men who would otherwise be gay were it not for social mores and conventions of the time, than even a topside number of 10%. Even then I felt things were getting dangerously close to - at least some - people suggesting that everybody actually had a bit in them that wanted to be the sex they were not born as. And that I, as a straight man could actually be gay. I thought, why? Why, for all that was and is sane, would I think I was also gay when I was and am solely attracted to women?! Apologies for digressions and the ramblings of a man glad to have been born into my generation. I really have seen it all, and heard it all, and after decades of trying to be part of the hard work of making social and sexual politics reach an even, or at least more even until a true level playing field can be created, it saddens me to see so much sheer sh--e being touted by - and I will use it here as shorthand, sorry - the woke, new, latest 'belief' (and it's '***' because belief has nothing to do with science and facts) that a man can be a woman, and often just by saying so. That is true bullshit, and I can never agree to this. No one can call me old fashioned, but it is infuriating to be called so just because, er, nature, evolution etc. Belief means nothing without facts, evidence is not evidence without facts, fact is not fact without evidence, the two are the same, there is no world where one can exist without the other. End of ramble, more ranty than I wanted, but there, t'is done.

Reasons why (so-called) "gender affirming care" is objectively NOT "MEDICINE".
1) By definition, "medicine" MUST be evidence-based; The entire concept of sex-independent "gender' has exactly ZERO basis in empirical evidence; A fact that believers in sex-independent "gender" (inconsistently, when convenient) ADMIT; Doncha know that "gender is just a social construct"? "Medicine" treats real-world, evidnce-based, physiological issues. Medicine DOESN'T alter healthy bodies, with no evidence-based issues, SOLELY justified by "mere social constructs", for the purpose of enforcing stereotypes...
(2) "Medicine", by definition, necessarily aims to IMPROVE real-world, functional, physiological health. It starts off with a patient suffering from some real-world, evidence-based, physiological issue (typically an injury, diseease, deformation, etc), then uses aims to IMPROVE physiological health and the function of the body, with the ultimate goal of RETURNING (or maintaining) the patient to their normal, natural, healthy state (or as close as possible)..
But "g.a.c" is virtually THE INVERSE of this; With "g.a.c", you START OFF with a patient in their normal, natural state, with no evidence-based indication of ANY physical problem, at all... Then you aim to ONLY HARM the physical function of the body, often amputating 100% healthy, functional body-parts (typically breast or testes), with ZERO empirical, evidnce-based justification, trying to create a NON-FUNCTIONAL, SUPERFICIAL ILLUSION of the patient being the sex that they AREN'T, with the goal of PREVENTING the patient from returning to their natural, normal, healthy state...
(3) The most foundational, defining principle in all of medicine is "first do no harm"; Violate the Hippocratic Oath, and IT DOESN'T MATTER if you have the whitest white coat, and the shinyest stethoscope, and you carefully measure the most precise doses of real, potentially useful drugs, using the most advanced medical instruments, administered by REAL, QUALIFIED doctors, from the most prestigious universities on earth...
....REGARDLESS of having all the above, if you're knowingly doing functional, physiological harm with that REAL, LEGITIMATE medical gear/knowledge, in pursuit of a goal like, say, torturing someone to extract a confession... or performing some magical, religious ritual... or creating the illusion of "a medical procedure" for whatever reason, then you're objectively NOT doing "medicine"... Even though it may SEEM like "performing medicine", to an obsever...
And in the exact same way, even if you have ALL the trappings of "doing medicine", but you're ONLY doing real-world harm to the physical function of the body, in pursuit of creating the illusion of the patient being the other sex, motivated by belief in an evidence-free "mere social construct", and a pseudo-religious faith that IMITATING THE STEREOTYPES of a woman/man, somehow makes you BECOME "a woman/man", you are ALSO not doing "medicine"... Because you've violated "first do harm"...
(4) "Medicine" works via KNOWN, PHYSIOLOGICAL, NATURALISTIC mechanisms, based in EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE. Sometimes there may be relatively small gaps in our knowledge of those mechanisms- But even then, it's only done when there's reasonable expectation of a conventional, naturalistic mechanism, that we just don't fully understand yet.
Medicine DOES NOT rely on faith-based belief, mechanisms related to concepts that have no basis in empirical evidence, where that presumed "mechanism" is functionally LITERAL "MAGIC"...
For eg, 100% evidence-free, unfalsiable, faith-based, concepts like "the soul" have no place in medicine, because "the soul" relies on functional "magic" to work. Same with "chakras", or "spiritual vibes", or "sin", or "body thetans", or "chi force"... Or sex-independent "GENDER", which is EXACTLY as evidence-free, unfalsifiable, and faith-based, and which relies on a PERFECTLY IDENTICAL standard of evidence as all the above; A standard that has/requires ZERO empirical evidence, where "but it FEEELS true, to me" is the SOLE criteria for """truth""".
Lets just call a spade a aade; The mechanism which allows a 100% physiologically-typical male to be "REALLY a woman", in whatever mystical sense, is LITERAL MAGIC... The mechanism that makes it somehow NOT "harm" to amputate the healthy breasts of a teen girl (ROUTINELY done at age 15, and sometimes as young as 13, ALWAYS with no evidence-based justification) too young to give valid, legal consent to rent a goddam carpet shampooer, is LITERAL "MAGIC"... The mechanism that makes a man instantly CEASE being a member of the sex who commits 98% of sex crimes (despite the EVIDENCE-BASED data saying mtf's commit sex crimes at a HIGHER rate than the male average), and become no threat to women/girls at all, the nano-second he speaks the magical "I identify as a woman", is LITERAL "MAGIC"...
Any ONE of the above 4 reasons ALONE, would be enough to disqualify "G.A.C" from being "medicine"...
Sadly, because of a combination of ideological capture, apathy, fear of a supporter-base notorious for vicious, relentless bullying for ANY hint of dissent, and absence of adequate safeguarding, we found out that you CAN install a totally evidence-free pseudo-sceince in the medical establishment, if you're determined enough...

First thing's first: I don't think "cancelling" a joke is the issue. Cancelling the comedian who told the joke is.
Second, I'll take a heretical stance on this, which seems apropos for this channel: I do think that freedom of speech is important. I also think it's very much misunderstood. The phrase "freedom of speech" usually means freedom to express what you want and not be afraid of government/official consequences - that's very important, as far as I'm concerned. However, it's also expanded in the minds of many to include the idea that you should be able to say anything you want without any consequences at all from any quarter, including employers or individuals or society at large. This is emphatically not true. You should be able to legally say whatever you want (with certain exceptions like the "crowded theater" thing or inciting to riot, for examples) without fear of government reprisal or oppression, but you really can't expect no social consequences. You are free to say what you want, but others should be legally free to disassociate from you if they don't like what you said - including employers, unless they are government entities. Both freedom of speech and freedom of association are based on the First Amendment to the Constitution in the US.
Just because you have freedom doesn't mean you are free from social consequences.
Having said that, I despise the instances where the government has used proxies to oppress free speech in an effort to circumvent legal protections. I think THIS is the real issue. There are innumerable examples of the bureaucratized executive branch of the contemporary government of the US having done this and it is clearly and explicitly constitutionally illegal and also abhorrent.

@49:00 I work in an all female industry, and my workplace is all female and I really enjoy it. We've had the odd man here and there, but I guess I've got used to working in an all female workplace and at least in my workplace, it's not a b*tchfest. We have issues from time to time, but those are work related issues, not specifically gendered related issues. Although I will say calling in sick because of your period when I turned up with mine is annoying. But having said that some periods on some months are worse than others so I guess that needs to be taken into consideration. And just on that note, we are a small team of about 6 women, and when women congregate together for long enough their periods start to sync, so when one has their period we all have our period and what I've noticed is that it doesn't get nasty, we actually become a little kinder to each other, probably because we are all going through it together! lol

I think a joke needs to be funny first and foremost. And new. If I hear the same old "joke" for 40 years, it stops being funny. Like: "Take my wife: PLEASE". I'm sure that was funny 70 years ago, but that joke isn't funny anymore. I grew up with edgy humor, and I heard all of these jokes so many times, and I'm bored with it all. I also don't find comedians whinging about "kids these days" and "cancel culture" to be very funny or entertaining either, and I don't care to be lectured or brow beaten by a rich comedian (my critique of Chapelle upon his initial return, long before the trans jokes). Society changes, and jokes do too. Humor from the 50's didn't really fly in the 80's, and humor from the 80's doesn't work today. People are allowed to tell the same old jokes (and they are telling these old jokes, hence the conversation about it), but no one should expect all audiences to appreciate them. If the government is arresting people for jokes (ie Lenny Bruce), I'd understand the uproar, but it seems as if some audiences don't like the jokes, and we aren't here to make comedians feel good: it's the other way around. Instead of a rotten tomato getting thrown on stage, they throw out a tweet (or an X or whatever it's called now). So: yes, people should be and are still allowed to tell bad jokes that aren't funny, and audiences are allowed to not like them and complain about it. It seems to me that the problem here is: audiences now have a platform with social media, but a mean tweet is nicer than getting hit with a rotten tomato on stage (and the audience member who threw it would be arrested for assault).

i just like this argument being delivered in an interview what feels like a radio football phone in. The guest speaking freely Andrew Gold listening no interupting, more of a dicussion than an interview, well ive subcribed only just come across your channel. My opinion, i love ricky Gervais, i love JK rowlings creation of Harry Potter and her life story leading to it. Ricky in his jokes and Dave Chapple said far more hard hitting sentences then Rowlings opinions, but you need to watch their entire comedy performance to understand the context that they are anything but phobic towards any demographic. What is it that J.K Rowling has said so bad other than tweets her thinking should be a clear distinction between a biologicaly born woman and an individual who intentifies or transitioned into a woman. I believe in free speech and free expression, i hate cancel culture, i hate how polarised and tribal world has become.
But comedy should be a safe place to be as provocative, risky and offensive , no holds barred, no topic protected from being the escapism of this polarised world,..something just being a joke..not a view, opinion or political stance!

Hey Andrew, I'm a new fan (from the US) and love your intelligent, balanced, approach to both your channel's, And I even like this guy Leo a lot - but please tell him the Hunter Biden laptop stuff is complete far right bs over here. (they've been spinning that conspiracy theory since before Biden got elected but have never come up with any evidence.) The son's just been indicted for more tax evasion crimes, and is in serious trouble for sure, but after four years of this, now they're trying impeach Biden by linking him to his son's crimes, and they keep embarrassing themselves since they can't produce any actual evidence. Not to mention the guys running the republican house oversight committee, James Comer and a few others, are complete right wing buffoons. Trust me, if you guys were over here you'd see how dumb they are in two seconds. They must be spinning this narrative over there as if it's a real story, but over here everybody knows it's just republican wishful thinking. But besides that, great interview, as always! ;-)

An anecdote on the motivations for altruism:
Someone I know got kicked out of their house last year, so they asked to stay with me for a few days. I let them stay with me until they found somewhere else, but explained that it cannot be a long term arrangement as I'm an extreme introvert and need space for my mental health. A few days turned into a few weeks, then months. I wanted nothing more than him to leave, but he simply wouldn't take action, and I wouldn't kick him to the street, so my mental health did suffer - I was on the verge of suicide, and haven't yet recovered - he's gone now, but it legitimately might still be the death of me.
I spoke to several people in my life about this. This guy is leeching from you, he's taking advantage, you need to put your own needs before someone who you are not responsible for - just kick him out. However, I simply couldn't do that, and it wasn't because I'm a completely selfless person - it's because the feeling I would get from knowing I had made someone homeless (whether my responsibility to house them or not) was not something I was able to countenance.
When someone is ignoring one need to put someone else first, it's because they must do so in order to meet other needs.

Thanks for standing up for women.
A seriously uncomfortable thing that nobody seems to want to talk about is that there IS a significant group of predators who are exploiting new rules. I don't care what they call themselves, but there are a disturbing number of straight men who get off on wearing women's underthings and then exposing themselves to women. It's not new, and it's not harmless. They get off on the fact that the person they're showing themselves to did not consent to seeing it, didn't consent to being a part of their fetish. It's a sort of non physical violence. If you don't believe me, go look at reviews for women's underwear now at online stores. There's a lot of reviews and even pictures from men using it as a sort of forum for exposing themselves. I don't care who wears what underwear, that's not the point. It especially worries me that we teach kids that alllllll of this is just perfectly normal. So now your 12 year old daughter changing at the YMCA is now with some 42 year old dude flashing himself at her and she's just supposed to think "oh yeah, that's normal"?
I know, not all trans people are that way. I dare say that none of those creeps are really trans, no matter what they think they are. But there's no way to determine who's doing what.
I get it. I feel bad for legitimate trans women who fear being with cis men. And I'm happy to share spaces with anybody like Debbie lacks the main weapon by which men usually commit sexual violence. But maybe instead of a campaign to put men in women's changing rooms, there should be a campaign to not be violent to trans people anywhere by anyone. And I'm all for more family changing/rest rooms, they seem to be everywhere now. There's a really long awkward age where you might not want to let a kid go in by themselves, but they're too old to go into the opposite gender anymore. And they're good for disabled people who need help from their partner. And a safe space for somebody who doesn't quite fit in either room and just needs to be alone. In order for that to be a reasonable solution, we need to keep ladies rooms truly safe. A woman and her daughter of any age shouldn't need to take up one of those limited spaces simply because she's worried her kid will see a weiner in what should be the ladies room.
In a weird way, I think the more liberal we try to be, the more prudish we become. We will quietly more frequently be changing in toilet stalls rather than the communal locker room areas, but not really admit why. And thereby subtly teach ourselves and our daughters that are bodies are so vulnerable and shameful that the only safe place for us is right next to a filthy toilet bowl!
But thats probably the least of worries for this generation. Hormones and mutilation and 100 different genders, and no clear delineation between gender and sexuality.... not being allowed to actually have a gender preference anymore. The weird way in which this all makes it easier for predators... It wouldn't surprise me if this generation just becomes very asexual, turned off to an extent we haven't seen before. It's all such a bland aesthetic.

Saying this as a minor, but faithful and proud, supporter of Graham's on Substack: Isn't it interesting that being put out of work only works with creative people who are or were liberal or left to begin with? An actual bigot, a rightwinger, or a Christian fundamentalist doesn't ever have to worry about that. These people have their own networks, their own parallel industries and what not. There will always be a cosy little spot for people who spread hatred.
Decent people like Graham - that's who you can put out of work if they step out of line even for a second, no matter that he has done so for a reason, and did the right thing, too. As both of you have mentioned before, this is of course to punish heretics in the own ranks, but that only works for so long. What is actually happening, though, is that silencing well reasoned dissenters just strengthens the right, because they do not have to fear cancellation at all.
If I didn't know any better, I'd even say that the trans movement was a fascist plot to finish off what's left of the left. It's more complicated than that, but nevertheless, identity politics as a whole and the trans issue in particular are clear indications how deeply rightwing and reactionary the mainstream left has become over the past 30 years.

Ah well, about Michel Foucault and the left: Foucault was an ardent anti-Marxist, and many of his theories were concocted specifically to counter Marxist theories. Towards the end of his career he also was a vocal supporter of neoliberalism.
I know, for some weird reason he is seen as leftist, but if you look at his record, considering him to be left, let alone to represent the left, is quite a stretch.
That being said, and keeping in mind the many flaws in his theories: No, you can't hold him responsible for queer theorey. Queer theory is using bastardized and diluted interpretations of his theories. He may have loved queer theory had he lived to see it, but that's something we'll never know. He may have also hated it with a passion. At any rate, even his worst theories are no way near as confused as that monstrosity of magical thinking that calls itself queer theory.
Far more influential is of course Judith Butler, who has never been a leftist to begin with. Much of what she wrote seems to be influenced by Italian philosopher Julius Evola, and particularly his book "The Metaphysics of Sex". And that guy was an actual fascist under Mussolini, and even more so after WW II.

Outside the Muslim world, there are very few who agree with Hamas, even among Palestine supporters. Within the Muslim world, there's the unfortunate fact that Islamic theology is very clear that the end times will involve a war, in which all Jews will be killed. Then again, Christian extremists, especially the most fanatical supporters of Israel, believe the same thing. They want the Jews in Israel, because it's a precondition for the extermination of the Jews. Meanwhile, Jewish extremists want to drive out all Palestinians and rebuild the temple, because that's required in their eschatology.
While few Palestine supporters agree with Hamas, there are some who believe that desperate extremism like this is unavoidable, when you brutally oppress a large population for an extended period of time, and are therefore reticent to condemn Hamas supporters as individuals. Most Palestine supporters agree with me, and I think people should be able to tell the difference between good and evil, even when they're suffering; I have no problem condemning Hamas as a terrorist organization. However, that obligates me to condemn Israel at least 16 times stronger; Palestinian casualties during the last 23 years are 16 times higher, and Hamas actually has a lower rate of civilian casualties in their attacks than Israel does. They're also not known to have deliberately targeted hospitals and ambulances based on what later turns out to be utterly uneducated guesswork.
This is one of the things media are up against, when it comes to calling Hamas a terrorist organization; they will then have to call Israel a terrorist state that's >16 times more blood drenched than Hamas. That's not an issue for me. I have no problem condemning Israel as a terrorist state. Unfortunately, as "the only democracy in the Middle East", the Israeli government represents the Israelis in a way that Hamas doesn't represent the Palestinians. The people of Israel has deliberately and knowingly elected a terrorist government, over and over again, and they've done so without being in a particularly desperate situation. Since it's true, I have no issue saying it, but it saddens me to know it.
Obviously, admitting to this is completely out of the question for major media outlets. I also doubt that Israel's supporters would be very pleased, if the media condemned Hamas, and then proceeded to be consistent when speaking of Israel. If I supported Israel, I'd be very careful about what I wished for, in this regard.

I was very much enjoying this. It's a much-needed conversation, but this passive aggressive bull of blaming everything on the Americans, you can shove. It's just childish. Just to list a few things Americans were cursed with, from Britain, in particular:
SLAVERY
Socialism & Marxism, dangerous philosophies, steeped in the Occult
Harmful Economic philosophy
Kinsey, the Rapist
The Boy Scouts, again, full of rapists, because it was founded by a British rapist
The push for a heavier, Christian society, along with indoctrinating private schools. That was your thing. Now, It's being pushed here.
Even as the whole of the UK, attacks American institutions, you keep sending so many actors HERE, that incl Australian & Canadian, because we pay better.
The whole Trans, one sex thing and cross-dressing has been A thing in Britain for centuries. Thank God this movement is hitting way more snags, here, than they have in the UK, because it has been a huge part of society. You Londoners encouraged those men to think they could just put on high heels and take our place by making them mainstream.
Blaming America for Pro-Palestinian activism cropping up in London is beyond ludicrous. They've been worldwide.
Martha: Is that a man in a dress?
Doctor: sigh London never changes.

Woke culture is madding... and needs to be addressed! These woke peeps are very hypocritical of others, if they don't agree, everyone is entitled to there voice but listening is the goal here surely for change, but very hard for some! If woke culture comes about, will we then have equal pay on this planet then. For every $1 on average a man makes, women earn 77.2c. Over the course of a year, that difference adds up to $25,596. The 22.8% gender pay gap includes base salary, overtime, bonuses and additional payments. It also includes the annualised full time equivalent salaries of casual and part time workers. So bring on equal woke-ism, if women in the World gets payed the same for a job!🙂

No one in my family or around were interested and I know no one of my age of those days who ever liked my favorite music- Baroque symphonioes when I was around from as far back as I can even remember. Not the Vivaldi's seasons, those are too modern for me, but actual typical Baroque. And i love it my whole life only now I am not afraid to talk about and when little I did not know where to get to listen to it :-D
As for the Jews, the problem probably is exactly that separation: I am different than everyone else because I am a Jew. People who support and protect Jews and did even in all those worst days risking their own lives just to save a Jew, were and usually are those who do not care if a person is this or that, to such people, this is a person, a living being, and whoever they are they are the same and needs to be protected the same way everyone else does.
Those who were and are attacking, are those who look for any differences to single someone out and Jews usually class themselves openly as different and even often as more special because of the religion, and I think in most of attack cases there are this that makes Jews easy targets. It is sad, but what I have noticed seems to be mainly this. Obviously, unkind governments and other 'representatives' of certain type of people also amplifies the problem.
As for Zionists, it is just a crazy word people are using without any idea usually what does it even mean. Yes, it is a bit more extreme religion of certain type of Jews but it do not automatically make person better or worse as a human being.
Education and open discussions about things are so very much needed. I wish people could put their feelings aside and discuss more to sort out the problems, I think it would lessen racism and especially intercultural misunderstandings as in most of the cases that I ever witnessed because usually conflict is over someone's attitude or habits rather than actual skin color and at times even Nation.
I think people dislike Israel because it amplifies things more than needed. For example, holocaust singled out not only Jews and no one dares to talk about it. What about Gypsies? They do not play victim card the way Jews do (yes, for a reason, but I think that creates problem- if you cry too much many gets bored of it and gets irritated even). Also, Jews seems to try to make it seem as they were main sufferers of death camps under Nazis but even that is not true, all the surviving witnesses explained that Jews were minority in these camps, very small percentage, and they were not that much differently treated than any other groups- there were many groups and all of them had different signs to wear, not only numbers... I thik, twisting the truth and playing victim card brings more people to be more hostiile as well? At least, that seems to be the case in those situations I have studied? (I try to work to keep peace among people and reduce hatred so I look for the deepest possible roots of the problem at hand).
When it comes to American 'black' societies unability to get over the trauma of slavery, I think maybe a book by Nikolay Ostrovsky from Soviet Union could be helpful? It is nopt about slavery and not about different races although a bit yes, only no one cared about classing as races only different looks those days in those places, but it talks about the class struggles between those helpless ones and those powerful abusers. It is easyt to say, every or at least most of the countries went over very similar things so American Blacks are not any special, but if they feel separate case then they need help to deal with that problem and start healing as everyone else had to start healing these traumas. I hope if this book could be translated it could relate to any abused case and maybe it could help to grow strong and hopefully finally recover instead of hoiling back and not moving forwards? Personal pain is still a pain even if no one else can see the reason to feel that pein, but it needs to be helped with and I thought that author could maybe relate and inspire?

The thing is, some people, typically 100% of all leftists have no inner conversation, no reflection, and they have parasitic attitude where they see everything as a zero sum game, muslims have the same attitude, and leftists and muslims are nurtured by conflicts and controversy, therefore there is no solution
Regarding the Israel conflict leftists and muslims are exactly like those women you meet sometimes, that have been laft by a man a couple of decades ago and still talk about it constantly, never ever able to move on, again, there is nothing anyone can do

I think this is a fair and honest secular way of processing this age old conflict in the very heart of the Biblical center of civilization. A coincidence? If the story talks about a duck, and then you see it quack like a duck, and then you see it waddle like a duck, is that a coincidence to how the story correlates to reality.
He quoted something Hitchens stated , which is interesting , since you have two who happened to have been brothers , with equal educational backgrounds but far reaching different perspectives.
The struggle in all of life is clearly answered by the words, "Love one another, treat others as you would want to be treated in return". This happens to be an absolute Truth powered by the humble nature we often ignore.
Nobody can deny it's power over decisions that promote self centered pride and how in Psalms it says; "fall before the pride!".
We can use all the big words and try real hard to disect our observations on societal woes, but to not come to the conclusion of what is an absolute Truth. The Christ is the Truth, Light, the life.
How someone can ignore the Wisdom necessary to make knowledge of any useful function is kidding themselves.
Jesus is the Son of the Living God. Faith is confidence in an absolute solution to the known evil in this world.
How can we not assimilate the conflicts between generations of skirmishes between all of mankinds history, doesn't resemble the story of Caan killing his brother Able. What emotions were harbored in doing so that doesn't resemble all of our inner relationships as a whole?
Yet the only solution that possibly will work, is to Love God and follow the Christ as it refers to how we treat one another. We are our brother's keeper .

The truth is the truth whether it’s coming from someone white, black, Asian, Indian, straight, gay, trans, short, tall, fat, or thin.
It’s the ideas that matter, not the vehicle.

@andrewgoldheretics I still have 20min left but before I forget what I wanted to write, I'll just do it now 😂
Firstly that guy with the parking tickets honestly is so German & I agree you nailed the German accent.
Secondly it's not as painful as I thought, because while you say things many people would consider controversial, I think your conversation is extremely respectful, has fair points and is actually humble- when looking beyond the aspect that both of you say stuff that is like a reason for public stone ... throwing against head? (They did it in the life of brian - iconic scene btw) and listening to what you actually say it's obvious for me at least that you are trying to be empathic and trying to understand. So yeah...
Also it made me realize that I used to be "woke" as teenager, tho I didn't knew the word, I actually believed I was morally above others and can play moral police - only recently I realized "uno momento, that's so hypocritical and actually makes me a du*b person. When I'm honest to myself everything I think I feel is subjective, influenced by my own emotions and experiences- it's not more valuable than anyone else's inner life's. Also being smart doesn't give me the right to disregard others ability to make decisions for themselves, only cause I feel that mine are the "more efficient" ones." So I've been actually trying to actively work against my urge to put myself on a pedestal, cause I don't wanna be that person. I constantly want to question myself, my own imperfections and also be honest to myself when I f**ked up.
