Interviews remind me of the SAT. It feels like having to do this kind of “dance” back and forth in the interview. Little ridiculous rules that you could trip on.

I used your older resume tutorial and lots of your interview tips and just got myself a promotion! Thanks for the help Erin! ❤

I clicked faster than you can say "you got this!"... 😅😅

me watching this as a full adult because I am in grad school and the job market is so bad

I'm binge watching all your content right now. I'm on my 2nd round of interview for a super opportunity

I recently lost a PT job I was at for 28 years and honestly thought I was going to retire from. There I was. 57 years old and back on the market. I needed to find a PT job to replace the one I lost and thinking nobody’s gonna want to hire somebody who’s 57 years old. Im putting in applications all over and getting little action on them. Yea I could prob get a fast food job or retail job. I have tons of experience in both but I did not want a min wage job. I came across your channel and It changed everything. I changed up my resume and started getting interviews. I brushed up on my interview skills and went in with confidence knowing I got this. I landed a nice PT job working for my state in my field of work. When I got hired I asked them why they hired me over the other candidates. My supervisor told me along with my experience I interviewed well. Thanks Erin. You helped immensely. I look forward to your new venture.

Erin, what I appreciate most about you is that you’re optimistic. A lot of creators/media make you feel like the world is ending, but I always feel like things are possible, even if they’re tough at the moment, after I watch your videos!

What you’re talking about is called “the hidden curriculum.” This is when your family/social class teaches you social/professional norms that are not explicitly stated/known to the masses.

Perfect timing! Tomorrow i am about to submit my resume to a company which my mentor suggested to work with. Guess it's just my lucky day :D thanks!

I can’t believe there is such video on YT and it’s not the most watched in terms of interview tips! You did such an amazing job Erin! Keep it up

20+ year IT professional, but I haven't had to interview for a position in almost 10 years. This channel has been really helpful as I look for a new and enriching job opportunity.

I’m scared to watch this in case I made these mistakes 😅 Edit: Yes, yes I did.

Went for a job interview for custodian at a state college. Now Some might think oh they will hire anybody. No. Thats far from the truth. I went for a city custodial job and there was over 100 other applicants. They took us in bunches of 50 and we had to take a test. Kinda like the post office gives. So I get an interview for a state college. I looked up the colors of this college and wore clothes in those colors. I walked into the interview wearing a blue polo and all 4 of the interviewers were wearing blue. I have not done anything yet and I already look like I belong.

I was just helping my girlfriend attempt to negotiate her salary for a promotion at her company. We prepped for it using the "Negotiation One Sheet" from Never Split The Difference. It turns out she was being offered the top number and there was no room for that, but they are working on some non-financial things for her. I am currently looking for a new role and found this video very helpful in preparation for my own potential interviews and negotiations. Especially the "what are your salary expectations?" part which is something I always fear could scare the employer away.

Hey Erin, I wanted to thank you. I finally managed to get my first job thanks to watching your vids and applying the knowledge to interview, and I do not have to bother with the tedious application processes and interviews anymore. Keep it up, it really helps. You got this!

Believe it or not I've had more interviews using a 1 page CV with a professional summary. It's short, sweet and definitely concise. I know during interviews that some employers have wondered "What's this guy's deal?" or "Do they know what they're doing here?". The professional summary, for me, is the punch. It's the answer, shows my intentions without giving it all away. Love it!

I've been a quiet watcher for a few years. After 8 years of being a the same company, I've decided to look for better opportunities and this has been GOLD. Thank you Erin. I hope you realize how many people you have helped.

My daughter got a fancy shmancy raise from following you!

Interview today! The timing on this is amazing! I am so excited and feel really prepared! Something else that I think helped me get here was asking my manager to send a note of recommendation to the recruiter after my initial interview. Sending good vibes to everyone else I hope you all land where you want to with your interview!

“If I don’t get social, I get weird” 😂 that is a very valid point. I started working hybrids since Covid and I do get very comfortable at home, however, it is easy to forget how extremely important being in the office in person and interacting with people outside of our team really is. Thank you so much for your video. It’s a great reminder.

"It's everyone's first time being alive" has to be the best fckn thing I've heard in ages. That really got me thinking frl.
84
Be careful choosing a job that everybody is leaving. There's a reason they are leaving.

i have an interview today and came to see if you had any helpful videos, perfect timing!! thank you erin, your content has helped me navigate professional life
80
Thank you so much for all the advice, Erin! This channel is extremely underrated. More people should be watching and commenting.
69
Mid twenties right now and going through a quarter life crisis, so THANK YOU!
65
I had a rude coworker. I went with her to lunch and let her know that her behavior was emotionally draining. I didn’t ask her to do anything but she self realized that she was unintentionally hurting my feelings. After that, she was the nicest person. Other people also noticed how much better she treated other people. I guess she realized that I wasn’t the only one she was hurting but I was the only one that said something to her.
64
Thank you , Erin! I just recently put in my 2 weeks for a job I’ve been at for 6 years and I’m ready to move on. I’m a people pleaser, so the process has been really scary, but also exciting. This video was really encouraging!

Hey Erin, I just wanted to drop a quick note and say how much it's meant to me to have someone say "You got this" every so often. In the last couple years, I started working remote, lost my mom, got divorced, got laid off from my favorite position I've ever had, and now I'm trying to get back into school to upgrade my AA to a BA. I don't have a lot of friends or professional peers and your cheerful encouragement has been something that I really appreciate. Thank you for spreading info on how to self-advocate. Be well. Cheers, Hannah

I think it’s so important that you brought up the fact that not every friend needs to be a best friend. Sometimes we have such a strong desire to get closer with people, but we need our fun-time friends just as much as we need our deep-talk friends!
58
Love your tips shorts but your personality in this blog is just sooo fun, informative, smart, sarcastic, and soo welcoming. Looking forward to more Erin vloging
58
Great video! The fact that #5 genuinely demonstrates your interest in the company makes it underestimated. Because I had 6-7 prepared questions that took up the final 20 minutes of an interview, I was able to land an internship for this coming summer.
57
"So how much do you make at your current position?" "AM I BEING DETAINED????" "Uh, no, what?" "I AM SOVEREIGN CITIZEN, I WILL BE CALLING MY LAWYER"
54
Im so happy you are talking about the trades. My son is a commercial union Plumer. He makes $20,000, a month. We need Mechanics too!!
52
Thank you for this !! Just turned 20 in February , hoping this decade isn't as scary and soul shattering as many people say it is :)
52
Thanks Erin! I went to a job interview earlier today and was religiously watching your videos beforehand, I think I nailed it! I wish you could over Canadian policies as well, although I'm aware you're in the USA, it'd be so helpful!
51
I think you might underestimate your audience, those videos can be as nerdy as it can get for you. There are enough people to appreciate that, it does not have to be all high energy funny at all times!
46
Have I ever clicked so fast?
45
Thank you SO MUCH for having me on your amazing show, Erin! You are an absolute force to be reckoned with, thanks for giving me a platform to be even more transparent than ever and share my story. :)
45
Thank u !!! For saying that no one knows what they're doing we're all adults pretending ❤❤❤❤
43
I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. After years of harassment, I quit my job. I had interviewed and interviewed, and I has not getting second interviews or call backs. I watched a few of your videos and applied what I learned to this interview. They called me the next day and said I was one of the best interviews they had in 10 years and would I like to have come work for them. When the salary question came up, I used what you said in one of your videos. I was so scared they were going to say NO and you don't have the job! They did say we would call me back after talking about it. It was the longest 2 hours of my life. They said YES and you start on Monday. Thank you so much!
41
You got this!
39
Thank you for the clarification at the beginning that you are not disparaging actual hardworking ghosts busy scaring and spooking 👻
36
I have an interview today and was just coming to your channel to prep! This is perfect thank you ❤
34
I really, enjoy your content. I have been medically retired for about 5 years& even though IM not doing interviews, your advice, has gotten me to open up to people at my church, who I thought were way above my intellect or social strata. Who I would never have sought out before. THANK YOU#I GOT THIS.
34
i love when content creators team up and work together...
34
These videos are so useful, I never learned any of this in school and growing up poor my parents sure didn't know any of this either to teach me. Thank you :)
34
Erin, your vids helped me on finding and landing my dream job this week. Thank you!!
33
Going to be honest, I am not even going to be interviewed for a great time (I'm 15 going for 16 right know) but your explaining skills and charm just makes me watch this video fully! I really appreciate your skill of doing this. I discovered your channel for my schools' president election on last september and I got approved! Thank you so much for everything! :)

8:01 "we're all trying to figure out how to navigate friendships" it's so comforting to hear!
