In the period of 1941 - 1945, more than 700.000 Serbs were killed within Croatian borders. In total, it is believed that 1 million Serbs were either killed or displaced in this period. Also, many reports state that they purposefully threw bodies into the Sava River as the Serbian capital Belgrade was downstream. The majority of the atrocities happened in the Jasenovac as it was their main camp, this is why we in Serbia say that after the Greek see (WW1, blue tomb) Jasneovac is our biggest underground city.

Should I be astonished that humans can be so cruel or that some humans haven't done to others what these monsters have done. I will never think of ww2 the same way again. It discouraging being human knowing just what some can do to others.

I don't know what I expected coming into this video, but it was actually very well done and quite informative.

The FG42 is not a machine gun and only produced in very limited numbers. The Germans used tens of thousands of "liberated" Czech ZB26 and ZB30 "BREN guns" in 8X57 as a light MG. The rate of fire in th MG42 was needed to stop Soviet meatwave frontal attacs on the eastern front. The MG34 rate of fire was too slow.

Russians tried to collect reparations from the Prisoners in free labor in the form of slavery; but the food to feed the prisoners was expensive to provide and they only got around 3 percent of what they wanted in the 10 years those Soldiers were imprisoned. The Guards were struggling to survive, it was better to simply open the gates and ask the imprisoned to return home; but not before most of that group died in custody due to the struggles the Russians were dealing with at the time. Very easy to conclude the Russians were lacking empathy; but they were honestly WORSE upon themselves than foreigners.

These videos are super interesting, thank you for all your hard work!!

I notice that the MG42 bears a lot of resemblence to the M60 machinc gun used by the U.S. during and after Vietnam.

And the Atomic Bomb didn’t make the list?
10
Because their boss became the first ever German general to be taken alive.

US Grant, not Grand.

I am shocked! With a tank apparently THIS bad the German crews still managed to decimate the Russian and Wedtern Allied tanks?

What often amazes me is how all these horrors took place in such recent history. Not that it doesn't go on still, today. Or that it hardly matters when and where it happened. But just being free and living in a stable democracy... so easy to take it all for granted. Doesn't help to be lazy and declare yourself non-political. Or to skip voting.

Jack Hinson's actions wasn't revenge, but retribution. It's my understanding, the Yankee officer who ordered was one of his targets.
8
Excellent video. Very educational.
8
That's foolishness to put yourself through something like that 😕

By the end of August 1914, the French Army had suffered 75,000 dead, of whom 27,000 were killed on 22 August. French casualties for the first month of the war were 260,000, of which 140,000 occurred during the last four days of the Battle of the Frontiers.

They spelled “Lee” correctly.

Very good upload, excellent storytelling ability 👍

There was a PBS Documentary, "The Great War, And The Shaping Of The Twentieth Century." This is the best comprehensive telling of The Great War, covering everything leadind up to, during, and after the war. At this point in time, I have not been able to find a copy of this excellent documentary.

I'm so happy to live in the time of anaesthetic, x rays and antibiotics. I can't imagine having what would be a minor wound today, treated with scalding hot wine, then having your arm amputated because that same wound got infected, (possibly due to the wine), none of that sounds fun
6
"Beneath Hill 60" is an excellent movie about this event.
6
Humans can be so harsh evil lord may all those poor innocent souls be in peace 😢 why so much evil .
6
The M60 was based on the MG42s design.
6
During midnight tea? You upload too conveniently

13000 rounds? 52 barrel changes? Don’t think so. He would’ve had 2 spare barrels and any others he could find, maybe. That story has been debunked.
5
There were more deaths from infections and complications from surgery than actual deaths from battle. Field hospitals were overwhelmed with casualties and doctors/surgeons had to make split-second decisions on the procedures. Infections were rampant and deadly.
5
You left out mustard gas and chlorine gas!
5
Probably to protect the chopper from being hit by their balls of steel.
5
Wow! Thanks so much for sharing!
5
Can you image how viral that first blast would go. Bodies fling everywhere 😅
5
I’d have thought that they were all deadly. Isn’t that the point of a machine gun?
5
This was a well spoken video
5
EEEEEWWWWWWWW! Gross! Well done.
5
They were all heroes, regardless of which country they served.

By definition, neither the BREN nor the BAR are machine guns, being magazine fed. To be a machine gun, it is self feeding, like the Browning M1919A4. Most machine guns are belt fed, some use a feed strip, but are self feeding. Splitting hairs, I know!
4
Can you do a vid on Operation Market Garden? Now that was a shit show
4
3:25 Because the panther was rushed during development and after manufacture it was rushed to the front because Germany was hard pressed at the front. Eventually the bugs were fixed and the panther lived up to its expectation.
4

4
i was expecting clickbait and was pleasantly surprised
4
@gamershere4908 so bombing hospitals, schools and refugees is the answer? you cry about Russians bombing civilians but support when NATO does it? I in no way support what Serbia did but attacking only civilians was wrong no natter what flag you work for
