Imagine stripping your life of all of the addictions caused by dopamine release like social media, tv, drugs and alcohol, certain foods, touch phones, etc., and just rewiring your brain to not want to do the things that isn't that beneficial to you. This rewiring of the brain, in due time, would make boring tasks much more appealing. It would make us want to go achieve that same level of dopamine release in a more natural and productive way. It would make you want to seek out your friends and family more, it would drive you to read more books, to take walks outdoors, it would push you harder to start a business or write a book. It would be the ultimate solution to our procrastination and laziness. It would bolster ambition and drive. We could do the things we wish and hope to achieve, a lot from removing these distractions, and to simultaneously remove a lot of the stress and low self-esteem we've all come to develop with these negative dopamine releases.
It's probably one of the largest sacrifices for all of us, but a sort of skeleton key to success. We don't want to sit around focused on nonsense that's getting us no where. I sure don't, I have aspirations too! But it feels like I'm going at a snail's pace. We would find something else to fill that desire, that gratification in our lives.
