Please continue to do these throwback videos. Not only do I enjoy them immensely, but you are doing a huge service to the community, many of which might not know about these things, either because they are too young, or because they weren't living here back then. I can't thank you enough for this.

Hey CBS 8 these old news features are really cool thank you very much for posting them

Thank you for this! You have no idea how important it is for millions of Madonna fans to see more footage of the Virgin Tour, especially in pristine 60fps, as if it were broadcast on TV today. Amazing. Love Madonna so much!

I can't hide my surprise... It's like Mona Lisa is starting to move.

I am sitting on the sundeck on the top floor of Horton Plaza watching this video. Itβs now largely deserted, there are no businesses up here anymore. It seemed fitting to watch these clips and remind myself what this building used to represent to the city

I remember watching Tom Selleck and his team play on Long Island, NY at Nassau Coliseum with some of my girl volleyball team High School players back in the day. We did not know he was there, but got wind from the audience saying his name. We actually decided to have a little fun....and said out loud "Ow did you hear Tom Selleck seems to have a sprained ankle and is not playing today." We didn't let it go on for too long and screamed out....."Just Kidding!" He actually is a good volleyball player not to mention good look'in! LOL

I was there! And on a lark, too. I was 19 years old and in the US Coast Guard. We were in San Diego down from Seattle for sea trials/rough training. Someone couldn't go and I bought his ticket on the cheap at the last minute. Something like 5 or 6 of us then shared a cab from 32nd Street Naval Station. George Thorogood and the Destroyers and then J. Geils Band opened for the Rolling Stones, but we didn't get to the stadium until George Thorogoode was half way through their set. It was a beautiful warm, sunny day. Great show! I'd never been to San Diego before and San Diego was awesome the 2 weeks we were training. So awesome that I moved back to San Diego when I was discharged from the Coast Guard a couple of years later. Lived here ever since! Retired now, and San Diego is still an awesome place to live, work, and play! ; )

I was there too. Was allowed to bring in a thermos of Rum & coke!!!!! Awww the good old days!

I was there. I was 17. I was an aspiring rock drummer with my eye on the big stage! Loved the Stones! I've seen them only 3 times I believe. Two more times at Petco. Hope to see them at all their future tours. If I to pick one favorite song, Shattered. I was in that line. We had spent the night. We were chanting " 2,4,6,8, "open up the fuc*ing gate!" I watched all three bands, Thorogoode, J.Geiles and Mick and the boys from the field!!! Can't believe they had allowed Gen Admission tix holders onto the field! I think tics were $25 bucks. Don't remember seeing any fights. The scene in front of the stage was something out of the 60s. I remember seeing this one girl making the rounds, wow! People playing catch with a football, a smoke grenade being tossed around. The concert made a huge impact on my early life which led me into a lot of good years playing drums in cover bands! Love this! Slice of life from the 70's. Oh how times have changed.

I was there in the front row. It was at the Community Concourse in the Civic Center. The minute the curtains opened, all hell broke loose. It was crazy. They only played for about 20 minutes. I think they ended it early because Brian's ribs were taped from being pulled off the stage in San Francisco a few nights earlier, and there were girls trying to do the same thing again. My friend Nikki was president of the San Diego Rolling Stones fan club and got to meet them backstage before the show. I was Vice President. It was open seating, and we waited in line for about 5 hours so we could get seats in the front.

Thank goodness people saw the beauty in those old homes and decided to save them instead of tearing them down to put up something else. Thanks for this Throwback vid!

Caminiti owned this town in the summer and fall of 1996. Such great memories. I was a sophomore at Poway High School Back then. It seemed like Caminiti hit a homerun every night. He really energized this town and put the Padres on his back into the postseason that year. I'll never forget how fun it was watching him play.

Thank you for posting this video, but you listed the wrong skater in your video caption. The featured skater is Russ Howell, not Bruce Logan.
