My last day is this Thursday, I made a promise to myself to never EVER work a weekend or a stat holiday in my life, those days are meant for spouse, family, friends and hobbies! My job gives me anxiety and chest pains every single morning. Enough is enough! Health is #1 followed by spending time with spouse, family, friends and hobbies!

  5. When I was a kid, I remember I would go on road trips with my dad, and whenever we'd visit a location, if I wanted a souvenir that was just a cheap trinket, my dad would just say "no". Never understood it because they were super cheap and we were never poor. But now, I kinda do. Instead of buying that cheap thing I would forget about in a month, he would pay for us to go experience new things, and now that I'm an adult, I'm so thankful for it because first, I still remember every single one of these experiences, but I'm even more thankful that he's taught me to not waste my money on these little useless things and to instead save it and buy a course, or an experience that will bring me much more value in the long run.

  6. I love watching this after years of learning how to take control of my personal finance. At first, I've tought that these ideas are stupid, but after some time, I came to the conclution that if you can make a difference between 'I want' a new pair of shoes and 'I need' a new pair of shoes, you are unstoppable. You no longer buy things because they are on sale. Another thing that blew my mind was the fact that having enough money to buy something gives you more joy than actually buying that thing.

  8. There are levels to this. He had to go to school, get a gig and spend years honing his skills to be in the position he's in now. During this time he's made hundreds of thousands of dollars to fuel his "passion on the side". I was a part of the unfortunate bunch, who saw videos like this as a young man and decided to quit school because words like these captivated me.   14. We built luxurious cars , hotels , resorts , gadgets ,mansions,restaurants which are totally unnecessary for a peaceful living. And we did it at the cost of exploiting the nature.We are in a mad rush to earn money to buy all these unnecessary things. If we follow the policy of simple living and nature friendly life style we don't have to go through all this. But I am afraid , our minds are damaged and enslaved beyond repair.

I believe venting about something overwhelming can be incredibly valuable IF you actually do something after you get it all out. But a big mistake is venting about something overwhelming, and the second you feel that pressure and weight lifted, you carry on with your day without taking action. It's healthy to allow yourself time to vent, but take action afterwards

  20. Sadly, it's not only the older generation who suffered from the "work hard" mentality. It was passed on to me by my father - both consciously and by example... until he retired at age 65, and died from lung cancer less than 3 months later. That is when I realized I want a better life for myself.

Honestly every time i hear a story about being employed in the US it makes me so glad I'm from Ireland We don't even have that many worker protections compared to many european countries but it seems infinitely better than US US jobs are tempting for the on paper salaries, but the hidden costs in lifestyle, health, anxiety, etc. seem way too punishing
