Words cannot begin to describe how excellent you are at presenting these different philosophical theories in not only a comprehensive manner, but an entertaining one as well. Your voice is perfect for narration, and the visual editing is simply superb. This is how you make philosophy interesting. And it is exactly what it needs, so thank you for your contribution.

Some of the exercise cuts were really nice, but whenever I see them I'm always subsequently spoiled by the knowledge that you had to then run back to pick the camera up again lmao
65
That was incredible. Your filmmaking and storytelling has become the best on YouTube. Thanks for your hard work and dedication to research and education.

What a brilliant video. One of your best yet!

Thank you for this very well prepared video! It is sometimes difficult to find time for profound ideas and inspiration to rethink the usual in this fast moving world. Your format inspires me to share such ideas with others and bring philosophy into our daily lives. I think your way of presenting such important ideas will be part of a new movement in philosophy to give us a reflective perspective on developments of the future. Due to the changes in technology and its impact on society it is crucial to care about those fundamental questions how we developed our society, our morals, and our values. I hope we can bring many more people to think in those critical and reflective ways. It will have a crucial impact on how our future society will develop. Thank you for your contribution.

Great video—I’m familiar with the topic, and this is probably one of the best intros I have seen. Keep it up—your videos deserve more views, and will eventually get them, I’m sure.

This is just incredible, I think we need Hegel now more than ever . Thank you for all the effort that goes into a production like this

Got the "1st" on a "Then&Now" video, that's true dedication from a fan!
53
Best channel on YouTube 👌👌👌
53
Thank you so much. I have used some quotes in your videos (from the Horkheimer/ Adorno book) in my own essays (I give you full credit) and this is just golden. I hope my redirections to your channel favour your own suscriptions, I do my best to recommend your material. I would love to collaborate with you someday and perhaps bring more people to your channel. You're better than me, frankly.

So happy to feature in this video. The internet is a fantastic case study into how the commons can be appropriated and destroyed by capitalism.
50
Most underrated channel on yt
50
I didn't expect 53 minutes lol

VR/AR will take this to a whole new level. This video will be way more relevant a couple of years from now. Great job!

You are a hidden jewel in a world of chaotic, baseless and unstructured content. Never stop doing what you do. I can't wait to finish watching this masterpiece
49
absolutely amazing content, keep it up !
49
KEEP IT UP MAN! you can really see the amount of time and effort you put into your videos, for someone who is just starting out you show great promise for the future, keep it up man your sub count will fly up soon enough
48
This has to be the most underrated YouTube philosophy channel. Maximum appreciation.
46
P1: Amazing video P2: not an amazing video P1: he used good sources and good writing P2: what determines a good source and writing? P1: there is no more direct way of citing literature in 13 minutes P2: this video is a summery of arguments, which is less than ideal material for study P1: good sourcing is when you discuss meanings and provide different variations and perspectives of the argument to give a fuller overview of the topic P2: how many variations? You've given no finite answer P1: if this is bad then the criteria for sourcing and good writing is impossible P2: bingo

Amazing content. You deserve a lot more subscribers

Damn your voice is so soothing, keep up the good work!

This has just saved me so many hours of anxiety over my exam on Friday. Thank you!
45
you express and paint a narrative around these ideas beautifully, never before has such work been made this easily interpretable and digestible. These videos really motivate me on a day to day basic, keep up the good work!!!
44
Montaigne is criminally underrated...I love Emerson’s essay on him in “Representative Men”...a wonderful essay about a wonderful essayist. Both Montaigne and Emerson read like they’re talking to you, like a letter from an old friend. You can tell he had a tremendous influence on Emerson. Bravo for the thought provoking content!
43
love your stuff. im suprised that you only have 7k subs
41
Awesome work! Very well researched and done. This documentary deserves to be seen by many. You could easily compete with pieces that have millions of views. The Youtube algorithm has suggested the docu to me and I hope it will direct many more to this address. One thought - maybe dividing the 3 hours into 3-4 parts would attract more people to watch. All the best.

Continue with this great content... Do one related to literature maybe proust or tolstoy
38
The production quality of these videos is outstanding. Keep it up
38
This was utterly engrossing. A succinct and nuanced presentation of the fallacy of the long accepted 'Martin and Malcolm' dichotomy. Brilliant.
37
Finally something not-stupid on GoT here on YT! Thank you very much! ... Also, here's a quote by Trotsky you might appreciate: "Naive minds think that the office of kingship lodges in the king himself, in his ermine cloak and his crown, in his flesh and bones. As a matter of fact, the office of kingship is an interrelation between people. The king is king only because the interests and prejudices of millions of people are refracted through his person. When the flood of development sweeps away these interrelations, then the king appears to be only a washed-out man with a flabby lower lip." (Beginning of 'What Is National Socialism?', 1933)
37
This is a 'Then and Now' masterpiece.
36
What a fantastic video - remaining accessible while tackling so many components of Marx. I will definitely recommend this as an introduction, although its breadth will naturally be overwhelming for any newcomer.
36
@ThenNow I'll be right here if you need me for the next! Seriously though, great work man. Always an honor to play a tiny role in these.
35
Really Needed This!I am Preparing For Test where we Have Carr and His Classical Realism in the International Relations.
35
I actually really look forward for your videos. Keep on with the good work.
35
Excellent content as always, I liked how the track had a crescendo when you introduced totalitarianism
34
Neurobollocks! I am going to use that in my next pub conversation!
34
Brilliant. That Varis and Tyrion scene had always stuck with me, and I’ve thought about it a lot throughout my MA over the last two years as I learned about thinkers like Foucault. I would love to see this channel do more of this kind of thing, applying theory to specific bits of media or pop culture.
34
At 0 59 I believe there's a small mistake. The king who abdicates is Alfonso XIII, not Alfonso VIII. Aside from that, great video!!
34
My g your basically writing my university essays for me You freaking champ i should hug you
33
Holy moly, cant believe I just found this channel, it is awesome. Love these videos man I hope they never stop coming, very articulate and philosophically insightful. Well produced and edited as well, going to spread the word about this channel.

31
Such a good video, dude. I'm a fan.
29
Most trustworthy channel in terms of validity of information and analyses.
29
That comment from Shelley was fantastic! I don't really understand poetry (I'm a STEM guy) but when I watch your videos, I do see why this stuff is as important (if not, more important) than the sciences. Keep up the good work - I love it!
29
Wonderful content delivered in great style. Thanks!
28
Don't forget to like the video, boys

My infatuation with philosophy started with Descartes. There's something beautiful and pretty straightforward about the way he indagates: he starts with the subject (the self) and from there he tackles the question of knowledge. It's wonderfully naive by today's standards, but back in the day it was revolutionary and together with Galileo and Hobbes he puts the final nail in the coffin of scholasticism (and to Aristotelian dogma)
