You touched a very interesting subject here. How is a man with no arms and legs truly happier than one who has been given everything in life? I met that very happy man back in early 90's in Bombay. All he had was a piece of wooden board with four wheels. He moved around using only his chin. I lived in Bombay for a year. I was only nine years old, but I learned a lot. Community, sunshine and a good friend here or there can be the simple recipe to a good life.
Sometimes, having nothing is better than everything. We have everything in England, but all is built on debt. The foundation can crumble at any second. Constant fear for what we have built and how easily it can be taken away from us. Nothing is truly under our control. At any second they could simply raise the interest rates & most of us will be in a mess. The money that we have saved, even that parachute is no longer physical or reliable. Remember what happened in Greece? 50 Euros withdrawal limit!
Hey, I'm not even arguing who has it worse and who is ungrateful. I wish no one that position where you have to search through bins for your next meal. All I'm saying is I've lived on both sides, I know where sadness and depression has chosen to call home. Just watching you walk around in sunshine, laughing and having a bit of banter with the locals, walking freely, this makes me happy. Thank you.

For those looking for Horoshevka on a map:
It took me some time and investigation (e.g. tracing Bald's path in the previous video). The co-ordinates are 52.348 N and 31.601 E. That's the T-junction just after the point where Bald talks to the lady at the start of this video, just over 1 km West of the Belarus-Russia border (you can see the roads branching in the background). Switch to Google Maps "Satellite" view. Horoshevka is not marked on the map, but when you click on it, it may appear in the info box along with co-ords, depending on how far you've zoomed in/out.
More, if you want it:
Go Left (North) at the T to enter the village. The War Memorial is at the S-E corner of the 1st cross junction. You can just about see some blue peeping through the trees and the path leading to the bust and the 7 graves of local martyrs. The bus stop where he talks to the 2 babushkas is right opposite, i.e. the N-E corner.
Go Right (South) at the T (or South from the War Memorial) down the dirt road to reach the cemetery on your left, just before the fallow field.
Still more?
If you zoom out a bit, you will see Karma a little over 5 km West of Horoshevka. It's not marked on the map (tho' Google will find it), but the Ioanno Kormyansky monastery is -- just North and adjacent to that blue church Bald shew us. (Karma should appear in the info box when clicked on.)
In the previous video, Bald walked down that road leading S-E out of Karma, passing the lake on his right (West) and the corner where that truck turned wildly out of. He got a lift/ride just after that corner and up to the 1st road branching off to his left (N-E) -- leading to Horoshevka. Then the 5 km walk to meet his 1st babushka.
Gee, I had fun doing this. I wonder why. Thanks Mr. Bald.

I love the Belarus vlogs. How about this for a challenge B&B? Oymyakon, Russia
!
If you’re a fan of extremes, you may want to put Oymyakon, Russia on your bucket list. This remote location is the coldest continually inhabited place on the planet, with average temperatures of -58 degrees. To get there, fly from Moscow to either Takutsk or Magadan, which will put you about 560 miles away. Then it’s a treacherous drive on the “Road of Bones” to Oymyakon.
There is no running water because everything is frozen, so be prepared to use an outhouse – quickly! It is impossible to grow crops in this climate, so typical meals include frozen fish, reindeer meat, and (get ready for this) ice cubes of horse blood with macaroni. Somewhere around 500 residents make their lives in this frozen locale, a place that experiences 21 hours a day of darkness. Let's do it?

Seems to be a returning trend that Harald just walks off and you worry about him. But thats how us vikings discovered greenland, iceland and north America, and between us, vikings never meant to invade England, it was a mistake, we just went off in that direction looking for fun.. If not on a leash, we can suddenly change direction and then stuff happens, we discover stuff, invade stuff, loot and pillage stuff, drink stuff or bang stuff…. or return in a bad mood if none of the above was obtained :D

This is how life should be. Also, do you notice, no one swiping Smartphones at every corner. Who says life is about progress, buildings, career promotions, asset hoarding. It could be charming to live unchanged for 70-80 years! Look at any comparison. Mumbai, Kolkata, Goa, Bangalore are certainly not what they used to be in the 1970's and 80's - they were so exotic and had a flavour unique to the place. As of now, Goa is trying to be Bangalore, Bangalore is too commercialized, Kolkata is losing it's intellectual touch and Mumbai is bursting at the seams. Everyone needs to take a leaf out of the book of Belarus!

whenever you go into unknown snowy areas make sure you have a full tank of gas, so you can run the car and use the heater to stay warm even if you are stuck until help arrives. Carry a few candles (a good source of heat and light, also roll the window down a bit so carbon monoxide does not kill you in your sleep. have a small shovel for removing snow and mud to get unstuck. Carry some sand so you spread on the icy area for more traction, Also nice wool blankets and flashlights. Always leave your phone charging so if the car dies and the car battery is inoperable you can still have a chance to make calls. Always tell people you know where you are going and when you will be calling them back to verify that you arrived safe. Cold and wet can kill you. So, stay dry, warm (waterproof, not water resistant boots and clothes that can protect against the cold wind help + gloves, hat help). In many countries you can call the highway police phone numbers to check the road conditions ahead of your travel for planning. Keep a new BIC lighter handy. Know the emergency phone numbers for the country and locality you are going to. Carry extra water for you and the car. If it is too cold and the car's heater does not blow hot air, partially block the front of the radiator and see if that helps, but keep an eye of the car's engine temperature. you can use a piece of cardboard or one of the floor mats to cover the radiator. Plan, Plan and plan, extra food and sweets are highly recommended (imagine being stuck for two three days with no help showing up. Don't start walking around, you may become a victim of wolves or other animals. Stay with the car.

8:59 Oh! Didn't see this coming. My time to shine as a self announced tank buff and historian! Erhm.. I believe the tank you are looking at here is some version of a Soviet, late second WW, t-44. I assume a t44M. This is because the drive sprockets at the back has a pointy looking star shape, which the t44A and t44-85 did not have. Furthermore, I can't remember seeing the drivers periscope and the log mounting in this form on the T44A. FYI if you aren't a tank buff: This tank is not as usual to see as it's predecessor, the t-34 (Yes, that tank you always see on monuments.) , which was much more mass produced trough the war. (Therefore we see that tank more commonly, especially as monuments.) The T-34 was kinda a symbol for soviet military and industrial power. Now, I digress...The T-44 entered service in 1944, but from what I can recall did not see any combat. The T 44 was mounted with an 85 mm Zis cannon, and two 7.62 machine guns. It could do around 50 km/h. If you want to know more, now you know the name of the tank. I'm not Wikipedia either.

So it took me a while of watching your videos to FINALLY realize you love Architecture lol! I am an architect and lover of all things architecture and music hence my user name. Ok, in my observances of your videos of Belarus,Moldova, and Ukraine-Amerika, I noticed TILES!! OH TILES! Everywhere! My most favorite building material next to Bricks and electrical outlets! I noticed alot of concrete and brick buildings and all those nice ceiling tiles which I love MORE than the wall tiles which are the best! The sqaure boxy style ceiling light fixtures like you find in American prisons and institutions! I love those!! All smiles here mate! You point out alot but I do notice alot myself. The windows and doors are made of heavy steel and glass like in institutional places in the USA and seems like security and fortification was the norm. I LOVE IT, I use bullet proof glass in my home with electric locks and all cladded with mahogany and other exotic woods. The switches and sockets are German in the former Soviet Union! I like in some places they have the OLD 2 pin sockets with funky colors like green, blue, yellow, etc, not just white or beige! Man, I could go on about what I love of these architecture..In short, if I come to Belarus.. point me to the hardware and building centres please! Also where is the sweets shops lol!

@baldandbankrupt - I was willing to sit through a 30second video, because I'm well aware of the hours it takes to edit and upload videos, not to mention filming the video in the first place. But that was before I knew samkaz041 was going to unsubscribe if you monetized your videos.
I know it only seems fair that you get a little something back for all of the effort YOU put in to keep us entertained, but it just wouldn't be the same without samkaz041
You are probably thinking....if it bothered people that much, they could just use an Ad Blocker or something, as it available for free on your PC and Phone. But that's just using common sense, and I don't think it's worth taking the risk Mr Bald. samkaz041 threat seemed real, and your whole channel would probably collapse after he goes.
Please take samkaz041 advise, and focus MORE on what you can do for US. You have only put out around 36 videos since the start of your India trip. With filming, editing, uploading & travelling, I'm pretty sure you might have had some spare time occasionally. You probably took that time to have a nap. Maybe you should have used that time to make another video? Gee......the nerve of some people. /S

point number ten about complicated online system ? .... totally agree ! i accept it is the case and even we find it difficult !and in india safari is not generally used , microsoft, chrome and firefox are much popular !
number 9 -- we being litterbugs !!! again totally agree! the sense of hygiene and keeping places clean and cool is very low here but it is slowly changing ! there shuld be fines to stop this !
number 8 --- tourists touts ! well mr. bald, india is not such a rich country, so everyone has to earn thier bread one way or the other, and tourists (like you and harald) are also to blame for paying these fellow much more then needed, it can be called generosity but then such deeds DO encourage people like these. so the fault is on both sides on this one !
number 7.... vodafone ??? no sir all the companies do that stuff ! for not to be disturbed you have to send sms to 1209 and type DND (do not disturb) to stop that or simply call customer care to stop it and yes ! airtel and JIO works quite fine in almost all parts of india use them the next time you visit !
number 6 ? again i totally agree with you ! this spitting problem because of tobacco chewing being very popular in india has become a nuisance ! a big time problem now ! people just seem not to be bothered at all and they just spit around like anything ! this should also be fined !
number 5 well as per govt laws the loud speakers have been banned for all religions specially in the mornings ! but still they go on breaking the law ! and i agree they are damn irritating! i myself filed a complaint in my village with the police to stop the blaring loud speakers of my village temple and got it stopped !
number 4 other tourists response with us ? well, cant say much about that one and for their deeds you hate india??? i guess you got that one wrong! why would you hate india for that ?? lol
number 3 well the people behavior who have authority ? well mr. bald sorry to say, but this mentality has been carry forwarded into these people by none other than your own british people when they used to rule us ! believe it or not but this is the main cause ! india was never able to get out of authoritarian and dynastic rule of the british ! so what you see is purely the legacy left by your own ancestors here in india !
number 2 throat clearing ? ha ha ha ha well my friend we indians dont like to preserve unwanted things like cough etc in our bodies ! we like to get it out of our system ! and that is supposed to be a natural process, like you body is actually trying to throw the stuff out but you are putting it back in like cough and cold! throw it out man ! so we do it ! sorry if it offends you but it is as it is :)
number 1 well this addictive part deserves a big LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL from all of your indian fans mr. bald ! i means WTH ? hey? we indians are the one who have boosted your viewership and subscribers, and today you are so popular here because we indians just love your and harald`s vlogs ! you hate it because you love it so much ? mr. bald have you been having grass ? (bhaang/ marijuana ) which can be easily found and freely taken in india as nobody bothers ! have a good time man and come to my village so that i can show you the other side of things too :) you would love it !
ps- again an awesome video ! keep posting ! RAW BLOODY SENSE OF HUMOR MANNNNN ! Thats what you are ! love ya mr. bald !

These videos are absolutely amazing every single time, so entertaining, I could keep watching for hours and it wouldn't get even slightly boring. Discovering your channel a few months back was probably one of the best things that happened to me in a while. I binged all your videos in like 3 afternoons, I felt so disappointed when I saw that there aren't any more left. Then I gave Harald a shot, and to be fair he's good too, but I could never get the same level of enjoyment out of most of his videos as yours. I'm not quite sure what it is, but there's just something so addictive about your videos. Anyway, you're doing an amazing job Mr. Bald, never stop doing this, cause you're sure to bring smiles to a lot of peoples' faces. Keep up the great work, and have a nice travel around the former USSR.

Bald, I have bad news for you. A sliver of un-crossable distance has slipped between you & your wife; an invisible, wisp-thin no man's land. Perhaps your relationship no longer exists, for the inches between you seem to divide two entirely different realities, and they no longer join. A marriage has come and gone and nature has not paused a second for it. The machine of time and space simply grinds on, and people are fed through it like grist through the mill. It's sad, because I sense you were born to meet her, Bald. I reckon that’s what you were put here for... that one fleeting, chance encounter. Confronted with your overwhelming loss, I am searching for words which might assuage the pain that only a grieving husband knows, and I feel useless. For I know you loved her, this common street urchin. Dwell not on your loss Bald, but on what your loss has won. The freedom to have your heart broken over and over again. It's a poor sort of victory Bald, but it's a victory.

Dear Mr Bald & RICH... Hello once again. I can't believe that u have returned to India to celebrate your fan following of 50K subs. Really, I can't believe it!!!! I think u r taking us all for a ride. No no no Not that ride u take with the Viking in New Delhi earlier on. What I think is that u never left India & were lurking somewhere in the Delhi T3 Airport, just like Tom Hanks in the movie, The Terminal. U always say that u are being scammed but, the actual term for it is being fleeced. See, the moment, the auto wallah's, the shopkeeper's etc. etc. see u, they too, start dividing the money, being charged from u, by 80 or 75 or whatever that day's exchange rate for dollar is and then add on something to whatever is being charged from u. Pl Bhai saab, check the MRP on the neck of bisleri, or soft drinks or whatever u purchase. Also check the expiry date or best before date. Pl do keep loose currency notes/change in a separate pocket so that you need not take out the whole wad of currency for everybody to gape at with greedy eyes. You got down at the Shivaji Stadium metro stop. There is a bus terminus with the same name, nearby, the Shivaji Hockey Stadium. Paharganj is only one and a half km away from that stop meaning, it is easily approachable on foot, that too, during winters. The best way to travel in New Delhi during winters is on foot. You get both, the exercise as well as a better idea of the city.
Thanks your Excellency, for giving us a good time.... a fun filled one.
Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Bikram Singh Bisht from Dehradun, UttarKhand in the foothills of the MIGHTY HIMALAYAS.

10. I get what he's trying to say but he is just taking a stereotype that "indians are good at computers". Yes, we have some of the most talented programmers, and computer experts but that comprises of a very small portion of our population, most people don't understand the online system. And no, as aaapne aur humne dono ne dekha hai, India ki websites are the worst lol (take hp board lol), so like its because of the no effort we put in, system banaate hai just because its a requirement. Not to blame india either as we are just getting adapted to online systems. But I get him, coming from a developed country. And i totally sympathize with him lol.
9. TRUE HAHAAHH
8. That's everywhere tho, not just India. Everywhere there are people trying to get you in for their businesses and stuff. But true.
7. Very true. useless money gaining scams.
6. lmao very true.
5. well thats the culture. Its like going to sweden and complaining about the screaming tradition at 11 pm (or whenever it is i forgot). You go to Pakistan, well thats gonna happen. You go to Saudi Arabia, well the same thing.
4. its not about india. Its with the people who visit but yeah sure lol. I like his point of view.
3. ah, the classic indian power abuse lol
2. exaggeration but its understandable. Its annoying.
1. Yeah sure lol. Like he ended it on a positive note, thats cool and understandable.
Overall a nice video.

I absolutely love watching videos of tourists in India, and other places i haven't been too. I am from england, east midlands. But i love the thought of exploring the world, tasting new foods, experiencing new sceneries etc.
I stumbled across your disrespectful friend first. He constantly felt the need to announce that hes white 24/7. But there was a silver lining, and i fount your wonderful channel!
You're polite, caring, learnt their language, engage in interactions etc. I really admire you brother!
I've subbed, liked, and clicked that bell notification with hopes to binge more of your videos with the misses.
Ps. Imma be bald too. The receding process has started 😂.
Best wishes man. Keep uploading all things you, india, travelling etc.

So don’t get an e visa, get an ordinary visa. It lasts a year, though you have to leave however briefly after 180 days (Nepal etc.) when you can come back in for the next 180 days. No uploading of anything and no paying online. Fill out the forms, book an appt. online for your local visa office, a list tells you which one it is depending where you live in the UK, print both off and go to the visa office with passport, photos, forms, debit card. Collect 3 days later, or have your passport/visa sent to you. The only effort you have to make is you may have to travel to the visa office if you live in a small town or in the countryside. But putting in effort to get to India should be expected.
Why oh why should the call to prayer change for tourists. You’re not going to work so what’s the big deal about being woken up. It’s usually a quite beautiful sound and God is a great deal more important than random tourists sleep. Go out of your hotel, find an early morning tea stall, smile at the early morning workers, watch the sun come up, enjoy the cool.
What I hate about India though is men pissing everywhere. I as a woman can keep it in, men should also. On a bus, night or daytime bus, men jump off, unzip and piss close by the bus. I have to find a bush, a lane. a place where there are no men. Then I have to get back to the bus and a tea stall and hastily grab a tea before the bus moves off again.
But that is the only thing I hate about India, truly hate. Anything else is an annoyance.

What I absolutely LOVE about this Slavic series is no MATTER where Bald goes, whether alcohol is involved or not, he is always met with love, hospitality and great characters that TEACH US something.
What ppl dont understand (those who wanna bitch about the alcohol) is that alcohol has different cultural values in diff parts of the world. Here, to share a drink, is openness, welcome and love. It means a LOT more than just "drinking" together. Its how my parents culture is but with wine instead. My friends used to fight over coming over about wanting to be offered "my dads wine". It means something. If dad offers you his wine you are IN. You are respected, approved of, welcomed and loved. It IS the highest honor. If ppl dont like you, they wont drink with you, be merry vulnerable etc etc etc. It runs deep u guys and its all SO much more "than a drink".

Mr. Bald, I've been waiting on another post..good to see you had such an adventure in Kiev, and other places there. If you ever go back, I'll gladly accompany you for a bit there..LOL.. Bro, here's a suggestion..check out Sri Bhagavan's Oneness Temple, his Ashram in Varadaiahpalem, Andhra Pradesh...I'm a devout follower of him, and Sri Amma...I attend his Deeksha Oneness Blessing groups here..have for about 5 years. They are Avatars. During one of his meditations, I attained the state of Samadhi, a few minutes before that, I had a full blown Kundalini Release...I have studied Eastern Religion, and Egyptian Mythology, and Esoteric Metaphysics. I'm quite sure Harald will be intrigued by the Temple also..Google the place, and get back to me....

Love your videos but let me clarify who is Jose Marti , was a Cuban poet, philosopher, essayist, journalist, translator, professor, and publisher, who is considered a Cuban national hero because of his role in the liberation of his country, and he was an important figure in Latin American literature, not to be confused with San Martín ( El Libertador of Argentina, Chile and Peru,[1] was a Spanish-Argentine general and the prime leader of the southern and central parts of South America's successful struggle for independence from the Spanish Empire who served as the Protector of Peru)

They do the "will not give back full change of money or forget to give change" with us Indians too. I think I come across as a upper middle class Indian, considerably richer than most people in those markets you go to which are not malls; so they do that to me too. Maybe because for most of us 10rs or 50rs is not that big of a deal they think. Which is somewhat true I believe. People who spend 50-100rs on a parking ticket in a mall wouldnt care and those can be Indians too. So, yea it is not just because you are a foreigner, and ofcourse it is your money and ofcourse you want it back but you get the gist of the thing here right? It not about scamming mostly. The whole context is about, "is it okay if I take it if you dont need it so much?". Goes with clothes, food, everything here in the poorer communities. Everything is used, nothing is thrown away, and if you dont need something, give it to someone who will use it better. Also, some people might use it as a scamming technique, you just have to be careful and moreover, conscious enough to calculate how you are spending your money. If you cannot count your change, you might not care about it enough, get it? Ok have a great day! :D

Bald , I have an interesting idea for you . You should visit Brighton Beach in Brooklyn New York . You would love it search it up , it’s called the mini Soviet Union . The whole population is Uzbek , Georgian , russian , Ukrainian , Azerbaijan , or Belarusian and all speak russian or English so communicating would be easy. I mean the whole entire neighborhood is nothing but Russia’s and babushkas. They have Soviet shops with old Soviet goods like Soviet hats , ushankas , clothes , etc. you should do some research on it if you’re not going to visit it , I’d think you’d enjoy it very much

Bald, I am from Bulgaria and there are gypsies here too.
In the second biggest city in BG, Plovdiv, there's a slum called Stolipinovo, which is something like Lunik 9. Many gypsy-defenders from the West went there and said "nobody robbed me, they are good people, Bulgaria is racist", but when you live here you see their real side. I know there are some, that are intelligent, but mostly they walk on gangs and then it's dangerous. Most of the cases of robbery are from gypsies.
Gypsies also influence our culture very badly, which brings negative points against them too. Most gypsies have very bad character, they are very likely to lie. They have a really big problem integrating their culture into European.
P.S: When are you going to come here? If there isn't anybody who offered you, I can tell you where to go? :Д

...250 stabbings in London last year , violent robberies , Scooter gangs stealing valuable watches and phones ...and stabbing or throwing acid in people's faces if they fight back, useless police force, thousands of burglaries , the worst record in Europe for car theft , scrap metal thieves stealing lead from buildings, elderly people conned out of their savings on their own doorsteps, drunken morons in groups kicking people to death in pubs.....BUT , NONE of that here ....despite such poverty . We should swap 500,000 of those decent people for 500,000 of our assholes....and get Putin to deal with them .

I can help with translation, since she did mix two languages(So did the old lady out of two). Its not you, its her lol
MedPunkt is a medical building, not government(Is a Russian word).
She also used a Belarusian word for Kahrovy/Cows. Skahtyny(Skahtiny is the way she pronounced it) means cows.
"Bakhata" - means "A lot" in Belarusian. Similar to the word "Bahgatii" which means "rich" in Russian.
She said, "we have a factory there(not small). And what? We keep cows and we work. We dont have a lot of people on the farm either, but we have a lot of animals(she said it in a positive way though)!"
AND LOL the old lady :D She actually told you earlier that they have to wait for the mail but you kinda ignored it. Its similar to Russian if she slows down. Second time she said it, made more sense.
"Rodni kut" or "homeland", is the name of the shop. How ironic.
Bonus, the old lady called you "Detochko" lol I guess her being so old, everyone is to her.
The last part where she yells to the other old lady lol What was the original question, I wonder.
Thanks for the video. Belarus is the best country on earth, despite the hardship. Sorry guys.

@baldandbankrupt i crossed the myanmar-india border at moreh a few years ago. i then spent 3 months in the north east, in nagaland, arunachal pradesh, and assam. while i was there, i searched out, and collected the very best seeds from the best looking mature buds i could find. i maild them home and grew them , and took the best female and crossed it with a dawg variety,..i now grow what i call, 'naga-dawg'. it is a sweeeet sativa, thats been tamed down to mature in 3-1/2 months. im working with the originals to create my own sativa strain ...its fantastic !! the north east is covered with lots of wild sativas,..many are junk that the locals use for seeds for the chickens,..others are purple, sticky, and sweet. you just need to walk around a lot looking.

In the United States, you couldn't buy a bottle of water in your hotel room for $4.10! How does the hotel stay in business when there are no guests? I bet there is only one hotel worker who is the bell-boy, receptionist, valet, maid, cook, bartender, server, security, driver, maintenance worker, travel agent, and concierge.

"оооооой, бляха муха...."
I really, really appreciate what you did for this family and wish there was someone out there who could do that with my family in Ukraine as well. They live in a very small village and live off mostly 150 euros a month, feeding three people and some pets. My grandma has terminal cancer, my grandpa is old and fragile and my uncle has no family besides me and my mom, who live in a different country and aren't exactly rich ourselves. We would love to send them money, but european banks aren't connected to ukrainian banks and it's just not possible to send them at least a bit every few weeks. Whenever we go there, we treat them like kings and buy them food and clothes, as well as bringing some from abroad (our suitcases are full of presents). But we can't afford to go down there a lot so it's very hard to see them struggle... Thank you for helping people like this, Bald. It truly is a very wonderful thing to remember people in need and help them whenever we have the chance to. I also really, REALLY appreciate you being so polite. It's rare for people in small communities to see strangers as nice as you, especially foreigners. Whenever I come home to visit the whole town is talking about it because it's such a big thing to have someone nice from abroad around.

I just want to say thank you. Watching your videos i realized something about negative myself. Watching your videos I noticed that I was snobbish. What I love about your videos is how you are able to interact with various types of people... regardless of religion, race, color, rich or poor... you were able to interact with them. I noticed many people were just simply starring at you... i don't know if they were giving an an evil eye but they looked serious. But because you made an effort to say hi and interact with them, those people began to feel comfortable with your presence and they started smiling and reciprocating back the friendliness that you showed. I noticed i was never like that. When people gave me a stare I would hate. Just yesterday, a group of kids were starring at me... usually I wouldn't smile... I would feel uncomfortable and just move away.... perhaps due to shyness or being not very sociable. But then for some reason, I remembered you. I remembered your friendliness towards people who would stare at you. And out of no where, I just said Hello to those kids. And they responded back to me, with a hand wave and smile, and they said Hello back. Apparently, they just wanted to interact with me. They just wanted me to acknowledge their presence... I thank you for teaching me to be friendly to complete strangers

Great comment on around the 28 min mark about the let down by governments that are cause to the problems people experience in today’s society. I’m from the Philippines and we also have the same issues,.
People are only use too on how they are raised within society, we have traveled to Europe Asia and some places are exactly the same, being left behind by governments too concentrated on catching the boom. The best people we have found are these people that have been left behind by the booming infrastructure, honest, friendly and would do anything to make u feel at home. My hubby is Australian with Greeks parents, has traveled around the world and he loves the out and about hospitality, staying away from metropolitan cities. People ask him why. ( his answer to all is if I wanted to go on holiday to another concrete jungle I would of stayed in Australia,) he rather prefers and enjoys the quite living away from traffic and pollution, that’s where the real people are with hearts not the city folks that walk and live like rich people as they are nothing and only fooling themselves., love ya videos,,, thanks Salamat

So one of your videos (the dying Belarussian village) pops up on my feed. I watch it. "Pretty good," I think to myself. "Wouldn't it be awesome if he went to Bobruysk?" Video ends, the next video begins auto-playing. "Whoa, he just bought a ticket to Bobruysk!" So, as a former Bobruyskian (who departed at the age of 9 in 1989 and currently resides in sunny Southern California), I'm just sitting there, hoping you end up at the Univermag. Then the video ends without a visit, sadly. And then I realize there's a part 2! And you're there, in the square! My apartment building was right next to the Univermag, visible at 9:15 and again starting at 18:53 (Sovetskaya 103). This is the first time I've seen it up close since 1989, so thank you for that!
Also, the "Soviet thing that doesn't work" in the square is a fountain. I used to catch lizards in it as a kid. There should also have been a tank nearby. The basement restaurant used to be a Communist-party run model plane building club for kids that my dad made me sign up for. I would visit the Tovarisch movie theater a couple of times a week during the summers (schools sold discounted passes for 10 kopeks per visit for summer movie runs). You also missed the main promenade street (Социалистическая or "Социалка") and all the random beaver statues everywhere (Bobr = beaver). Perhaps the most interesting thing you missed was the Bobruysk Fortress which dates back to 1810 and repelled Napoleon's troops!
In any event, thanks for the nostalgic flashback!

Daryaganj, near Delhi Gate is quite famous for its desi sexologists. You have proved that u can give a stiff competition to them also. If u see carefully at the walls, while travelling by bus or trains, u'll find them, painted with advertisements of various desi sexologists, claiming themselves to be experts in this field, fleecing people of their hard earned money, as the subject is treated as a taboo and there is no other place to go. This was the reason why that guy, to whom u had given a remedy, was looking soooo confused. He became more confused after getting that friendly advice from u. Was he confused by u, the white guy from London or by your advice, it was hard to foretell.
Bikram Singh Bisht from Dehradun

Just finished you're book Mr Bald, [ https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1980787514/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 [ I could hear your voice as I read, a new experience. All I knew of Belarus before was that it always gives the UK nul point in Eurovision Song Contest :-) Since your started your tour I have been educating myself. For a people who suffered so much in WWII they seem remarkably welcoming to you as a stranger, but I can see the reason behind the huge vodka shelves in the supermarket ~ not single Belarus family who have not lost swathes of family in WWII, one third of the population wiped out, villagers driven into barns, men women and children and burned alive, the atrocity at Khatyn, I have found in a charity shop a book by a Belorus author Ales Adamovich called Out of the Fire ~ a documentary novel based on the experience of some survivors of the Nazi death squads, a hard emotional read,. In every conversation about WWII in the UK some Stalin apologist will always say,"that's nothing compared with the suffering in the USSR" well it seems the suffering in the USSR in general pales a tad in comparison with that in Belorus.

From what I found around 200-300k people were displaced, around 20 thousand Georgians killed, 5 thousand Armenians. The end of SSSR (CCCP) was a good thing for the west part of the union as it limited contact with neighbor western countries, but in places that are this far, bigger union meant better salary and distribution for everyone. It is sad that people have to live like this, but don't forget that money isn't everything and if you look at it, they are probably having fun times, enjoy their life. In a way, they are maybe a lot freer than a lot of western society that is glued to social platforms and consumerism. Thank you for these videos, I'm personally from Czech so I can understand some of the words, phrases. Also you inspired me to learn a bit more Russian, so hopefully I'll be able to at least listen to spoken word soon.
