Im Greek. I wanted to do a comparison of prices between your supermarkets (a country in war and under sanctions) with mine (a country in the Eurozone and a member of the different versions of EU since 1980). I understand that your supermarket was a rather posh one, so I will compare with one of our normal local chains, not discount supermarkets like Lidl etc. I wish you could be more detailed in your shopping list at the end, referencing weights and possibly the status of each brand in the market (cheap, regular, expensive, crazy expensive). I tried to do my best to match your list, where it was not possible i noted the alternative product or quantity available here. Ι used regular brands not private label ones.
Fresh Milk 1lt = 1.71
eggs (six regular) = 1.86
Lentils 500gr = 1,63 (Backwheat is kinda exotic here so I replaced it with something as common in the Greek market. FYI 500gr of Backwheat is 2.46)
Minced chicken 1k =6.90
Cheese (feta) 450gr= 6.00
Coca Cola 1.5lt= 1.77
Yogurt (3x cups of 200gr)= 3,72
Butter 250gr= 3,18
Tomatoes 1k= 1,60
cucumbers 1k= 0,64
Apples 1k = 2.00
Potatoes 1k = 0,88
Bread (one loaf)= 1.20
Chocolate bar 100gr = 1,58
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Up to this point we are at 34,67 euros. Lets add your fancy smansy ice cream and pelmeni
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ice Cream 650gr = 13,34
Ravioli 250 gr = 4,55 (Pelmeni do not exist in Greece and Im quite sure that your packs are much much bigger, so I replaced them with ravioli)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Grand total = 52,56 euros
Im curious to see the total in other EU countries.

Oh man, this is simply one of your best.
I am Dutch, not Russian but especially the conversation with the couple in the house touched me.
After you say that at the end of the day people are so alike where ever they live.
And that is true. No matter where you live. We are all mostly the same. Same dreams, same wishes, same challenges.
What I found striking is that I feel much the same about values as the couple in the house. Children are spoiled. People have become lazy. It is true.
To my opinion, when we would talk with eachother and REALLY learn to get to know each other, there will be so much more respect.
I could tell you so much about my personal experiences but this is a Youtube comment. Not an essay about respect. So perhaps when we meet, whomever you are, where ever you are, we can discuss this topic. I am already looking forward.
Meanwhile, open up to people, listen, understand, ask questions and stay safe.❤

Hi Real Reporter, outstanding presentation and very moving reporting. I served 28 years in the US Navy and got to meet my "old potential enemy" after the breakdown of the Soviet Union in the mid-nineties at a "good will" meet in Norfolk, VA. I was impressed to meet these Russian Navy officers who were my counterpart in the "military business". We had similar upbringing, schooling, values (them Russian Orthodoxy and me Roman Catholic), post-graduate education, families, and drink (alcohol) preferences! It was so strange that years prior, we could have killed one another. Peace be with you and thank you for this touching video production, Ciao, L,

I hope both Russians and Ukrainians know that there is a HUGE amount of Americans that don't want any of this. There are many MANY people here who wish we would mind our own business, and take better care of citizens here instead of policing the world. We realize if someone placed weapons in a country bordering ours, we would react the same way. So many of us don't trust our own government or media......and have no idea how to fix it. Nobody wins here. We don't want anyone to die. PERIOD. From either side, from any country, NOBODY. We are all human, we all have our own beliefs, our own values, our families, and our own lives... we wish nothing more than every single one of us to be happy, prosperous, and loved. FOR THE WHOLE DAMN PLANET TO COEXIST IN PEACE- ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I'll tell you why you are so famous on You Tube in the US. You portray real foreign people living real family lives, and you are a worthy example of an American to the places you travel. As a US Navy vet, I saw a LOT of the world, and even married into one part of it. There are desperately poor and freakishly wealthy situations in so many parts of this globe. But the heart of humanity is farmers, storekeepers, desk jockeys, and blue collar workers. What a shame the young men of such a lovely region are the soldiers, just as the soldiers of the US come from such places in disproportionate number.
Great, professional quality video ! Your closing statement about patriotism, looking for a best life, all that...it's so real, so true.

Misha has such a beautiful family (health and happiness are the true treasures, right?) -- Pampers here are well over $20, and often you cannot buy them. The WIC program (US subsidy for low income families) helps, but prices here make it very difficult. Gas for my home runs $90-100/month, but my little dacha? Wood heated!. We have metal fabricators and plastic extrusion companies here, but energy costs make profits smaller. I personally depend on Miele, Siemans and BMW for parts. Trust me, it is hard for us in the U.S. to get products, too. German industry is in trouble, but war is only good for the weapons manufacturers (It is hunting season, and ammunition supplies are low, and very expensive too). A friend's brother is in the military, but recently left Poland . These sanctions and this global conflict do not benefit everyday life, but your documentaries keep us real -- thanks so much. Your hometown reminds me of our rust belt towns..(except for the Soviet style apartments - we had little houses) Excellent report, as always!

I don’t know about about others in the audience, but the story of the cocky lawyer is a story that I keep my eyes on, it’s a way for me to see the impact of the war on humble innocent men, who were drafted!
The lawyer’s journey shows us what it’s like to be patriotic yet sensitive! What it’s like to fight like a warrior, but come home and soften up, hug one’s wife/fiancé and grandmother!
The lawyer has so many human layers, it’s wonderful to see him go through the layers.
Many people may have different views about the war, but ultimately, enemy militaries and armies cannot expand year on year onto your border, start killing people in Donbas, and expect a country to stay blind and deaf to the growing threat and provocation.
No one wanted this war in Russia, not even the political elites! It’s a war of deliberate agitation, done through a willing pawn called Ukraine and Zelenskyy.
In any case, I pray for Andrey! I pray for Russia, I pray for every Russian soldier! I hope that Andrey and others like him, survive this war, win the war, and return home as heroes! Heroes who shall give birth to the next generation of heroes!
Lastly thank you the real reporter for bringing us another incredible video and story! Wonderfully done! Keep us updated on Andry please

Арсению счастливого и безаботного на сколько это возможно детства;
Маме Анастасии,сил и терпения;

I stumbled across your channel and really enjoy your content. I am Ukrainian born (Lviv/Lvov/Lwow/Lemberg - recognizing all the countries who controlled it) to a Russian father and Ukrainian mother. We moved to France and then later to USA where I grew up. My parents made sure my siblings and I retained fluency of our native languages. So, years later, I’m still fluent in Ukrainian, Russian and sometimes Polish. My parents had ethnic Polish friends in Lviv and thought it would be respectful for us to try and learn Polish. I’ve lost my accent a while back, but still “look European” per some Americans. No idea what that means. 😂 So, like many from Ukraine, my situation is complicated when it comes to the invasion. I am not a fan of Putin and do not support his government. I am against the invasion, but I condemn Russophobia. The Russian people should not be held responsible for one man’s actions. Many Ukrainians truly hate Russians (and I can understand why), but I do not and will not. Ukrainians, Belarusians, Russians and Rusyns are from the same bloodline of the old East Slavic tribes. Tribal conflict, invasion and wars split us and our native old East Slavic language apart. I wish all of you and my fellow Christian Orthodox brothers and sisters, peace, health and prosperity in the New Year and as we approach our Christmas.

Wow, this was great Kostya! Very nice vid. I've been wondering about the cocky lawyer and how he's doing for quite some time - since your last vid and since the short you showed (with his cat running back in his shelter). He seemed a little bit less cocky now, but well, war will do that to a man, I guess. Still, his spirit seems far from broken.
You really have a knack for this, Kostya: the pacing was good, the background music not too intrusive and fitting the mood. You asked some pertinent and interesting questions, which deals with the intellectual curiosity we have about him, his views, and the state of the war. But I'm also glad to see you didn't forget the "human touch", some emotional investment, in it. As I said earlier, it's those moments that grip people the most, after all, and your scene with him dancing with his girlfriend/wife on the empty plaza at night with the musician... really touching. Well done, Kostya. While the main Western media is demonizing Russian soldiers (and no doubt Ukrainian soldiers in Russian media), it's important to show we're all human, with all the same longings and wishes and dreams, whatever side of the fence you're on.
I was really looking forward to this one, and I didn't get disappointment, and seen it's been a while, I think it's time for another coffee. ;-)
Don't know how close you actually are with the cocky lawyer, but I hope you'll keep in touch with each other, even after the war has ended! And let's have a drink on the war ending soon in a peaceful way!
Cheers!

Hahaha! Kostya, Kostya, Kostya... my man. A mere two months ago, you were telling me "Hey there, thanks for keeping an eye out for us – no Siberian detours yet! Haha We're still roaming free and sipping coffee on this side. So far, so good. :)"
And now your voyage almost ended in the Siberian Gulags! So much for your free roaming! ;-)
Well, j/k of course. But still I kinda understand where they're coming from; there have been covert operations by Ukrainian special forces with drones, there have been terrorist attacks in Moscow - did you ever make a vid or short about that, in fact? - and one could just as easily be spying and conveying drone footage to the spaghetti-eating enemies abroad, if not by the internet, then with the harddisk hidden under a pizza!
It's funny how I said: make sure you don't end up in the Gulags! (after your vid about "What do you think of Putin?"), and now that media-woman also made the same joke in a way. 😛
That said, Arctic Ghost towns are the best. Even if there are no real ghosts there, they're the closest to seem to have ghosts! 🙂
Anyway, keep safe and out of the police's hands, and keep up the good work!
Edit: oh yeah, both the atmosphere/vibe and "human touch" were, again, spot on! The kid with the accident at the exact time you were there.... what are the chances? Yet, it immediately gives it a human touch, and it's pretty wholesome you walked him home and even checked upon him later. Well done! You know, part of this vid gave the same vibes as the documentaries I saw about Chernobyl, where everything is deserted, but still in the state it was during the 80ies, in Soviet Russia style. It gives it both an eerie and a nostalgic mood, don't you think? It's like a place where time was frozen and only echos of the past remain. The deserted places you visited here gave a bit the same vibe - though the main city there still looked vibrant enough.
Don't know... If Russia wants to keep these towns alive, there is only one way for it: give some job-opportunities in or around that city. If there is work, people will stay, and if there's more than enough work that pays decently, it will even gain population. If there's no work, then whatever one does as an embellishment of the town to attract people to stay, it won't work. Literally and figuratively.

You Russians are so impressive. You are able to network with each other with comfort & mutual support. This is how the world is supposed to run. Rail travel is half the hardship, the other half is having the means to stay at lodging with reasonable cost. I am a survivalist by hobby. If shelling is ongoing, I suggest always be ready to go, always dressed to run outside & keep everything within easy reach. A little backpack is a wonder. You are one gutsy reporter. Good on you, just be careful.
It amazes me that people don't go the final step & see NATO gone for good. It must be a human blindness. We just don't know how to expect good news. How refreshing, a religious cleric who knows the root of the issue of war, pawns in a battleground that is meant to destroy, not resolve, any conflict. Of course, the answer is the reverse. Don't comply, lay down your arms, but establish protection first. Admire Putin's response on all levels. He knows that strength is the answer to madness. Does he or anyone else make mistakes? Yes, but few comparatively. Sandy Rinaldi, Arkansas, US Army veteran 1971 to 1974, 19 OCT 23

First of all, I would like to say a big thank you to the author of the channel and the team! The film turned out to be very family-friendly, warm and lamp-like (a good family film in the best sense of the word)! The axe in Joshua's hands when discussing the topic of LGBT is an epic moment (the author of the idea is to give out an Oscar, Ha ha)!))) And secondly, I would like to say a big thank you to the entire Australian family for their sincerity, honesty and adherence to their Truth and their Ideals! They are the embodiment of a real family, where I see the Head of the family, his loving wife and wonderful children! They make a very pleasant impression in every sense! The episode where John talks about his son's service in the Russian Army is a very powerful moment, very! It is precisely such emigrants that I am glad to see in our country - people who have come to share my values and ideals, and together with me to make OUR country even better! So yes, I say - Welcome OUR people!))

Welcome, Nina, and thank you for helping us understand the thinking of the Russian people. Now, my observations (having traveled and lived abroad extensively) is this: the importance of a free press for the public to gain information. I think in Russia, the free press has been stopped by the government. So, older folks that only use TV are getting only government propaganda. Younger folks, and mainly mostly urban, not rural, use other internet methods to get news, so they tend to get a more balanced view. Of course there are always exceptions. In the US, we have a free and open press, but most of the 24-hour press tends to bias one way or the other. Therefore, if a person only gets their news from one source, then their thinking will have that bias. Unfortunately that is most Americans. Also, the social media algorithms tend to push more content into our news feeds that supports what we have already been watching. The goal of social media companies is to keep us watching their content, and they know that getting us angry, to one side or another, will keep us watching their content. So we have to be careful to keep using unbiased media, or to keep a balance in what we watch. Most people don't do that, so you tend to see people that are very right wing or very left wing, and the old days of compromise and dignified respect in media and politics are nearly gone.

Thank you. As an American w/ fairly close ancestry to Ukraine & Poland (maternal grandparents), I have been sickened by the anti-Russian rhetoric by the west media, basically dehumanizing all Russians who have no real say (or even knowledge of day to day geopolitics) on these matters.
It feels like there is something more going on and the everyday people of both countries are made to pay the price. I don’t know how I feel about Putin, he was KGB & rose through the ranks (he is no fool, he also clearly knows how to survive & thrive w/in a very suspicious & dangerous organization.. again, showing he is no fool & can strategically plan several steps ahead); he seems to be running Russia well, truly wanting to keep the traditions and culture, he seems to understand the importance of family & having children, & hasn’t allowed massive forces to invade Russia w/ its woke & anti-family ideology; however, he is also brutal against any threat to his seat of power, such as Alexei Navalny..
However, I do understand Putin hardline regarding NATO. This hardline in the sand is NOT new nor unreasonable. Putin has made it clear since the beginning-> any nation wouldn’t want a powerful military alliance on their border; if Russia (as an individual country) sought partnership w/ Mexico/ Canada/ or ‘Cuba’ to be allowed to place a small military base w/in, America would immediately call it an act of provocation (if not war), & would not tolerate it.
There was no need for the west to give the message that NATO was genuinely considering Ukraine membership. There were many other options that could respect Russian sovereignty while growing trade friendships w/ Ukraine (it has also been stated that Ukraine’s massive corruption problems has been a major factor in not having stronger relationships with the West…. Corruption factors that Biden & his son along w/ John Kerry & others in that sphere, have personally greatly monetized their personal net worth 🤔🤫🤔).
Building a friendship w/ Russia seems like the wiser choice. Pushing Russia into the arms of China seems like the absolute worse strategy.
This entire confrontation could’ve been easily prevented, yet appeared to be intentionally created. If the true motivation for sanctions was to financially harm Russia, then flooding the market with oil would’ve been the wiser choice-> yet Biden did the exact opposite. Heck, he also pushed Russia off the US backed petro dollar, which harms 🇺🇸 far more than Russia.
I’ve rambled enough.. there just seems to be more going on; an agenda that still resides somewhat in the shadows.

Just subscribed after watching a few videos in a row, yes I'm hooked! To this Australian your American accent is very good, initially I was confused by your heritage but there is one word that gives away your Russian origins. The word "and", so often used however Russians seem to pronounce it "eand". So my original thought was you were educated in the US for a few years, not 6 months wow you are good!! I'm enjoying viewing current life through the Russian eyes of your subjects as much of my viewing is from the Ukrainian experience.
When I was 16 years old it was 1989 late November and my first trip out of my secure bubble in Perth was to Moscow, then the USSR but only just and the Berlin Wall was falling. My love of Russian history, literature, mixed with a healthy dose of the unknown certainly taught me more in one week than one could ever learn at school. My Intourist guide quietly told me I had more accurate knowledge of Russian history than Russians did, yes I was a bit mouthy! It is so important you continue to tell the Russian story, the experience eand especially during this time ensure history can't be denied, painted over or renamed as it has in the past.

I think what we're seeing right now is the rendering of the professional army as obsolete or damn near. A professional and sharp officer corps is what is needed to win battles now and a lot less so high end equipment. We are seeing conscript soldiers being made to work for both sides of the Russia-Ukraine war. They've done this with drones, fortifications, excellent defensive tactics and strategies. Both sides started with professional, first class armies and now Ukraine is scraping the bottom of the barrel and Russia is going through volunteers and second rate soldiers too.
We saw this with the Ukrainian offensive and now we see it with the Russian Avdiivka offensive. Although I think the Russian offensive will be more successful, it is because they have limited, realistic goals, but we aren't seeing a need for a 3:1 attacker advantage anymore, we are seeing a need for much higher now or alternative means of smaller scale, squad, semi platoon and platoon actions being most successful. While I believe armor still has a place on the battlefield, it's use on mass has to be well concealed and operations for use of large scale armor should be limited to initial breaching operations and then a planned entrenchment or continuation of the operation with using mostly infantry as anything more with large amounts of armored vehicles will just be a waste, until changes are made to compensate for modern munitions and anti armor tactics.
Concerning Israel and their effect on the Ukraine war, the emphasis is going to shift to Israel. That's just a given, it's already happening, they've been a heavily backed western state since their conception and I unfortunately don't see that changing anytime soon and depending on how ground operations in Gaza go, if Lebanon gets involved in the conflict as well, if the surrounding Arab states turn sour and cut their progressive relations with Israel, all of these things will contribute to Israeli stress and the need for more American financial and military aid as the country cannot and could never sustain itself under its own power.
Of course there is also the potential for a third serious problem either in Africa or Asia where American intervention will be needed as well, like say, Taiwan. If all of these things go on at once, it'll spell disaster for American foreign policy and for all western back countries involved. America supports EVERYONE and if they can't support the west and NATO, then the balance of power will shift. I sincerely do hope this to happen for America's sake as American military intervention has been an absolute disaster for any country involved, the Americans have in the past done very well politically, so hopefully this will mean a few decades where America chooses to use words over bullets

@RealReporter Exactly Constantine, who needs Starbucks??? there is better coffee even at a Racetrack gas station in the US... in countries with coffee tradition, Satrbucks is not present all over, for instance, Italy, Spain, Colombia, Brazil and son on... I don´t go to Starbucks at all.. I brew my own Colombian coffee at home, or a good, toasted Italian... So?... let them go brother, Rus local economy is booming, and it means low unemployment rate... Those are good figures from my understanding!

Nice seeing you take up the pace and frequency of your vids, Kostya! As of yet, it seems to pay off quite well!
Truth be told, in the west here, we've got plenty of inflation as well. It's come down a bit, but at some point used to be 8%. Not sure about the average of the last 2-3 years, with the gas-prices rising (even when my country wasn't directly buying much from Russia, energy prices still went up). Maybe around 4-5%? that's still the double of what it used to be.
30-35% is way higher, though, so I guess Russia DOES suffer more from inflation. As you said, that's understandable if it's imports, especially for goods that are brought inside Russia through other countries (sanction-evasion systems). But if it's homemade, it's difficult to account for. If Putin says it's because of higher wages, doesn't this make it a chicken or the egg problem? (Ba-dum; pun intended! ;-) ).
I'm glad you made another "economic detective" vid; been a while. I thought maybe you would drop this theme, because the last time you made one of the economy of Russia wasn't the best in the effort vs reward department, as you told, I believe. But I think it's good to differentiate a bit. BTW, I heard the workforce-shortage (cause of your 2,8% unemployment) was alleviated a bit by the fact that many of the hundredthousands that fled Russia to escape the draft are now returning. Is this true? Estimates are about 60% returned, and it's still ongoing, so maybe it'll reach 80-90%. That would mean, that about 400-500000 of mostly young males, came back. That should have helped a little, at least - if any of this is true. Maybe it could be grounds for another vid. ;-)
As for other "sanctions/economic" vids, you still have the Chinese cars and the Russian aviation theme you can explore further, as said prior. So still enough subjects to explore! 🙂

Very good work, my friend! Longer than that of your former vid (which, granted, had to be hasted because of the sudden news-worth of it), but it's clear you've put more work into this over a longer time. Pretty interesting that Russia's economy seems to be little affected by the sanctions, though, as you say, one should also take those Russian reports with a grain of salt. Needless to say, however, that the sudden complete collapse that most in the West predicted, didn't come about.

To me, it's up to the people if they want to support a store/brand or not. I'm not pissed either way about companies either staying or leaving. What is frustrating is the hypocrisy and the typical Capitalist way. Say one thing, while doing the morally reprehensible thing at the same time. However, it's such a morally grey area that it's hard for me to judge any of it. One family losing the ability to support themselves and dying from lack of medication/food/water/shelter, whatever it may be... That's quite reprehensible. It's none of these company's faults that Russia decided to start a war with a neighbouring nation. It's also not the fault of the people of Russia.
I feel bad for the people in both countries. Nothing is pleasant about the situation and I just hope we don't demonize the innocent civilians like we did for two decades with Middle Eastern and Muslim peoples. Russian and Ukrainian citizens have nothing to do with this. Neither do the companies. Boycott whatever brands based on your personal beliefs, but please, people, don't become prejudiced towards people over something they have no control over. People's actions need to speak for themselves. Judge people by their individual merits.
This is coming from a highly concerned Canadian who just wishes all of this to end. I know it's not that simple, but I really wish it was. I also already don't buy any of this materialistic shit and unnecessary garbage food; so don't come at me like I'm some Russian sympathizer. I empathize with the people who have nothing to do with any of this as a human being. I don't give a shit where you're from, it's not right to punish people for actions they haven't themselves taken part in.
P.S. You did a great job in this video. This was extremely informative and interesting to watch. You've got a great presence in front of the camera and I'm glad I managed to find your channel because of it. The more legitimate news we can have in this world, the better we will all be for it. Sensationalism needs to die a quick death.

Greetings from Montreal. You know, men wage war, and never suffer the consequences for their decisions. And I don't think the plight of everyday citizens weigh on them, as part of those consequences. I'm sad for people who suffer needlessly because of one man's decisions and those who support him in those decisions. I take life saving drugs myself for a long time now. Diabetes drugs are just some of them, so I know what it must feel like not to be able to know you will have those drugs in the long term. I am saddened by war, and those who suffer indirectly because of it. You are not alone. Know you are in my thoughts from Canada.

Nice vid, Kostya. Ties in with many of your other vids; it's like a cross-over of your "old believers" and "expats in Russia" vids. ;-)
Come to think of it, religious/ideological themes often seem to be in your vids, so I'm wondering: what are your beliefs (religious or otherwise), Kostya?
I myself would describe me of moderate conservative. I understand the annoyance felt by the Woke-agenda that's constantly being pushed in the public as a narrative, but then again, I'm not really laying awake about it. In fact, I think wwe should combat this at the roots at home - there are different ideologies at play in society after all, and where there's a reaction, there is a counterreaction, sooner or later.
As for religion (and, well, having ten kids): that's not my thing. ;-) I was baptized, so I guess I'm Christian, but not a practicing one. In reality, I'm mostly hovering between agnosticism and atheism. I'm too logical for all the rest. And I think the most stable society would be if everyone has 2-3 children max. That's sufficient. Those are my worldviews, a bit. What are yours?
Also... what are your plans for the next vids? Can you shed some light on it, even if only in a broad way?

This is my hometown, and let me tell you, it's a wonderfully peaceful place, which is why many people choose to live here, especially if they seek a tranquil life. After graduating, I left Pereslavl for Moscow and subsequently lived in Singapore, Belarus, and Canada. I won't delve into the lack of infrastructure investment; it's evident from the video. Instead, I'll share a few intriguing facts rarely mentioned in Pereslavl videos:
- Next to the town, there's the Program Systems Institute, established by the Russian Academy of Sciences, known for its talented mathematicians and programmers. Following the Soviet Union's collapse, many of them migrated to the US.
- Surprisingly, Pereslavl boasts its own university, a rarity for a small town. I recall attending a lecture there in the early 2000s, delivered by an American from Microsoft, discussing digital government.
- Pereslavl had fiber internet long before it became widespread in Russia. Additionally, local scientists were involved in supercomputer and parallel computing systems ahead of their time.
- While working as a helper at a sawmill one day, I stumbled upon a sign amidst the sawdust that read "Space Material Lab." It left me astounded, realizing that just a few years earlier, there was an advanced lab in that very spot. Unfortunately, everything deteriorated swiftly, and we saw shady businessmen exploiting child labor. I was 12 or 13 at that time.

Ryan McBeth isn't non-biased or neutral, anyone can see that.
02:37 - Everyone is aware that the Church isn't the Government office, but it's the most iconic part of the Red Square, also they "have nothing to do with Putin" is untrue, the Priests that are former FSB.
I watch your channel for a different view from a Russian's POV, and believe that you're not paid by the Kremlin directly. However, we also know that if you were more critical of the war, or against Putin, you wouldn't be allowed to broadcast, so in that sense, yes, it is indeed soft propaganda.

@RealReporter Ok, Kostya, I'm gonna try one more time... because my posts always seem to get deleted by YT algorithm, and I don't know why. this is what I said, about a week ago already:
Bit later than expected, but here I go!
The concept/angle you use in your vid comes as a surprise. I mean, I
knew it was going to be about the financial aspect, but you brought it
much more back to earth than I imagined. Like... even go as far as
"smuggling" some money back and forth, and showing this. Hope you
don't get in any trouble for that. :-p The vid was interesting on a
cerebral level, as most of your "economic" vids are (I imagine this
will go into your playlist of "life in Russia after the sanctions?). I
like the formula, here. A little bit of history, a little bit of the
"grand scheme of things" which handles the broader aspects and
insights, and a little bit of down-to-earth "I'll show you a concrete
example how to deal with it". This gives it a fairly broad appeal,
because it gives several different multilayered aspects on how to look
at the same issue. I hope you'll use the same formula with your
tank-based vid.
3:14 Now, now, Kostya! Are you still going on about that? It's almost
like it was a trauma... Nah, I can't imagine you really feeling THAT
depressed about it! I'm a fairly good judge of character, and you seem
to me like a person whom bounces back really quickly! ;-) Besides, as
I told you, that Vorkuta vid isn't doing THAT bad. It has 191 K views;
not that shabby at all! (I'll say more about that per email, when I
got some time).
3:55 You're very welcome!
And yes, as said, it's sometimes difficult to know why some vids score
much better than others, for no apparent reason. It does not
necessarily has to do with the quality of the vid. But overall, you're
doing not bad. Even the Dan one has 140K by now. no betterhelp needed!
I'll provide that service for free! :-)
I also note you brought back the cameo of the Russian Jean Claude
Vandamme. I must say... I mean, he looks cool and all, but also a
bit...shifty? Shady? He could play in any movie as a gangsta boss, if
he puts on a pair of sunglasses... But really... walking around with
some dodgy bag full of hard cash... that looks darn dubious. (But
it's good for extra attention to your vid, though!)
Didn't know nor imagine it was THAT hard to change your money in
Russia, or that EU money could get confiscated (by the EU, not Russia,
if I understand correctly?) That was real interesting. You see,
Kostya, that's what makes these kind of vids so compelling; it gives
us a totally new look on how things really are in Russia. It's like:
where can you actually see this stuff otherwise, as a Westerner? You
hardly find anything about that, not even on YT. It's really a great
niche you have found there, Kostya. hope this vid does well.
Don't know how this will help the EU, though. Since direct flights
aren't possible, wouldn't anyone go first to Turkey or some other
third country, and THEN enter Russia? and wouldn't you then be able to
bring Euro's or dollars with you without any problem? So I don't get
this policy at all. What is the point of it, if it's de facto not
really doing anything?
Also... why, exactly, does the money need to be in SUCH a completely
mint and perfect state? That wasn't entirely clear to me neither. I
mean, you say it's because Russia doesn't want to stockpile it because
it can't use it... but... the Euro, and certainly the Dollar, is a
world currency; surely they can always use it, if they buy something
abroad ?
Anway, nice seeing another vid of you! BTW, planning to do something more
about the BRICS summit as well - maybe a short vid one? Or are you already
busy with a longer one about something else?

Woohoo! the vid I was waiting on! Further comments after I watched it! ;-)
Edit: ok, watched it. It was again a fun and interesting vid, and your editing really is on pro-level, I would say: even regulr TV networks wouldn't be able to offer much better.
One thing I'm a bit confused though, is you calling the airplane "MS". I always figured it was MC, with the C pronounced as...well, C. (Sounding like "see"). Is it a Russian letter, mayhaps, or why is the "C" pronounced as "S"?
13:57 Nono, you can't fool us! It's because you are a spy/ Russian propagandist paid by the Kremlin. Or was it the Orthodox Church? Whatever; you're what the fat American will say you are! (cue, next vid of him "analyzing" once again your "soft propaganda"). ;-)
One thing I do find slightly disappointing however, is that you were pretty limited in your research, or should I say "examples" of airplanes and aviation-capabilities of Russia. I sort of expected you to shed more of a light on the whole Russian aviation and it's progress (or lack thereof); how it is doing, what airplanes they try to build or muster to keep going, etc. There are a lot of aviation projects and airplanes being build or planned or refitted, and not only the MC-21. But sadly, you didn't touch on any of them. I mean, I understand of course that you focus on that one, since you gained access after months of trying - so of course, you'd want to show this feat. But still, it wouldn't have hurt if you mentioned some others airplanes and attempts of Russia to remain self-sufficient in the aero-space domain, even if only in passing.
Ah well, maybe next time.
Also; is there no possibility for Russia to buy Chinese components, in the meantime that they develop everything on their own soil? What is the most realistic timetable for the MC-21 to go into serial production, if they have to build all the parts themselves? Can other planes be brought "online" faster than the MC-21?
There are still a lot of questions I'm left with, and I could easily have watched another hour of it without getting bored. ;-)
Well, anyway, I hope this vid does well too, and one coffee coming up! I see I'm being mentioned at 7:39! (Indirectly, as a "non-patreon supporter" :-p )

My dear RR: A truly unique and informative video. We might call this one >> "RR's Little Catechism" << as read by Mischa and debated by Ilia. When Russia (see comment below) sold Alaska to US, many Orthodox there became akin to Old Believers ... out of touch with and out of control of Moscow Patriarch. Likewise, when Catherine the Great 'cleaned religious house' in Ukraine, many of the non-Orthodox, non-conformist, reform protestant churches members had to GET OUT OF DODGE; left Crimea for the Prairies of Canada and the Plains of the US. They survive and thrive still in many different incarnations. -. In our local hospital, some Mennonite women are trained lab technicians and return to their primitive farms after work. Meanwhile the menfolk hire out as skilled carpenters, roofers, etc. That's 100km S of Montreal, in The Other NY. Yet another (in)significant difference between Western Christianity is we touch our LEFT shoulders first in making Sign of the Cross, while Orthodox touch their RIGHT shoulders first. Lost in the annals of history for sure. Your hosts Sasha & Wife and Ilia mentioned Nikko as the culprit of reforms. Many Westerners see the Papal reforms of the Vatican II Council of Rome in the 1960's as the beginning if the end of the world. I jest, of course! - Again, Sincere thanks (Konstantine?)!

@JohnMcmillin-br8tk Firstly, he is a citizen of Russia, welcome to the channel, therefore. Secondly, he is not a media outlet, but just another author on a video hosting site, along with those who film themselves unpacking goods. Third, this is a disclaimer, not a limitation. Everyone warned their own - you speak as if everyone said it to the opposite side, that here you will face persecution. As for the warning itself, is local legislation not applicable to Americans in other countries or what? And then you started using some propaganda slogans and cliches. And besides, it’s not the topic of the question at all. But to answer your question about 90% (seriously?) of Ukrainians - because they are forced to. They cannot refuse, except for those who left for Europe and Russia.

Kostya, if you or the woman interviewing here, suddenly gets whisked away to the Gulags in Siberia, give me a sign, I'll pay another coffee as comfort, then!
j/k, j/k! ;-)
As we can see here, the "vote" is, indeed, about 60-70% in favor of Putin, and 30-40% against - counting all the ones that said they'd rather not speak about it as a "no". I'm a bit surprised. Our leaders in the West mostly get way lower percentages of approval, even after 1 year of office.
At first, I thought only old people were liking him, but it seems quite some of the younger ones do too. Wonder who will replace him in the future, though. He can't stay on indefinitely. If he's smart, he'll search for someone capable and introduce him as vice-president, and a few months before his retirement as president, put him as president. Much like Yeltsin did with him. Yeltsin was one of the weakest leaders of Russia, but at least he did that right.

Ah, a new one! Even only yesterday, I was going to say: time for your next vid! ;-p But here you are! Not sure if you have another full-time job,but if you don't, and live of this streaming, it really would be nice to have a more frequent vid-release, me thinks. I know this may be difficult for a one-person thing, but maybe you could switch in alternation? Like, something more lighthearted and easy to do and make, and something more in-depth, that takes you longer?
And now I'm going to watch it...but(!)... it seems to me it's again about ex-pats living in Russia? Didn't you say you were going to do more in-depth interviews with locals, born and raised in Russia? Or will that be following?
Well, I'll give it a look and than comment further.

Am one of the biggest fans of Russia out here. My friends joke about it all the time. Funny thing is that am African, country is called Kenya, educated & shit, tryna save up to attend the next SPIEF in St. Petersburg in God knows when (am a young economist, so geopolitics is key). Am fascinated by ur videos, by ur culture, by ur politics, pretty much everything Russian. Just wanted to say, we stand by you. You are not alone. We are brothers in arms. Your boys are here with us, undoing years of colonialism. Hopefully I'll get featured in this channel if I ever make it thus far LOL! To the greatest nation in history, SLAVA RUSSIA!!!! ♥♥

Nice one, Kostya! I was just going to contact you to see how things were going (since it took a while for your next vid), or you published one.
I didn't see this coming (I thought the tanks would be the next ;-), but as soon as I saw it at the start, I was thinking: oho, Kostya is making a "Caspian seamonster" style vid! And lo and behold, a bit later you made a reference to it in your vid yourself! Yes, this is definitely in the same genre/class of vids, and with a bit of luck, it will be a success as well. These technical-military special projects usually have a big appeal to a male audience. Of course, as we've discussed before: you're never actually sure what is going to become a hit and what not. It's DOES seem to start a bit slow, or am I wrong? Maybe I'm comparing to much with the Abrams one. did your ekranoplane-vid also started slow and then gathered millions of views along the way, or did it fly of the charts the moment you published it? What does your history analytics say?
I do think that some of your vids that drew less attention than you hoped, will slowly accumulate and keep accumulating views, while other might take off right away, but viewcount will drop faster once the point of contemporary interest (hype) gets less. I'm wondering if you see that corroborated in your analytics?
Also: was that boy ACTUALLY you from some old footage, or did you pick up some nephew or something? ;-)
And about the V-12: couldn't they have maintained and use it for very heavy workloads? Like, say, the UMR modules of the Angara rocket? I mean, look at the Antonov An-225 (before it got destroyed): sure it was too unwieldy and costly to use for regular freight, but there WAS a niche market for very heavy payloads, which only that airplane could carry. Wouldn't it have been possible for the V-12 to do the same?
Nice that that old engineer made a museum out of it, at least. Hopefully, your vid will maybe lead to some more visitors to them as well!
Your editing was really good, once again, though I would suggest being careful of not using too much or to long of the same standard "special effects" in the transitions between parts of your vid. But maybe that's just me. Still, it was great and interesting vid, Kostya; keep up the good work!
(I'm actually feeling a bit isck today, so I'll leave it at that, as comment :-).

@RealReporter Was going to answer yesterday, but it was too late in the evening, so I'll do it now.
I'm not too sure what you mean by "format". You mean the format in which it is presented, or the format of the content itself?
Because I think you're pretty on the sweet spot with most of your vids here. I don't think you should change too much with the format that has the most success, though... it's always nice to try some alternatives out to see how those pan out (just don't switch it from one to the other completely, because people are animals of habit. And if a new format wouldn't strike any interest, but you've switched completely, it will cost you viewers. So I suggest, if you want to do it, to try out things gradually.
And, well, I understand you Kostya. While it's all fun and what not, and in some cases may even be considered a form of art, it's also true that, in the end of the day, if you want to sustain yourself and your channel, you need pecunia. Money is needed, and the job we do must rake in enough, whether we want to acknowledge that or not. So I understand your concerns. To help you, I've been going over your vids and your shorts (I still don't get any message when they're put on, strangely enough) to see how many views each one of them got, to see if there's a "genre" that is most liked.
What I noticed is, that... it's very difficult to see a pattern, and the question why something is popular while another isn't, is difficult to answer. You're most popular one, is actually about the "sea-monster" (ekranoplan) - had little to nothing to do with the themes of your later vids. That said, generally speaking, the vids about Western sanctions, and their effect (or lack thereof) are pretty popular as well. The cocky lawyer is pretty popular as well. There's one vid about Wagner that has few hits, which surprised me, until I remembered it was flagged, and you couldn't watch it unless you had an account that said you were an adult and what not. Which make sit clear that, as much as the content is important, the presentation - even the thumbnail and title - is very important (as is not being flagged). But I'm sure you're well aware of that as well.
It's the reason why your vid where in the title both "Putin" and "Carlson" was mentioned, was a pretty high hit as well.
Content wise... maybe you could go for a re-visit of the "sanctions" theme; you revisited it with the food-stores and shops like MCDonalds and such, but not with cars. So maybe going back how the deal is now with Chinese cars wouldn't be bad. And if you ever buy a new car, be SURE to document/film it as well! ;-)
If you want something completely new to try out, maybe try a "street-food" theme like some have done in china; these always seem possible as well. Or at least typical Russian foods, or showing rural life of a babushka and interview her to know her views on the war/world. Or something along those lines... you know, something typical Russian that you can't find anywhere else. This excites us Westerners the most, because it's exotic in a way, AND it gives great opportunity to incorporate the "human touch" into your vids as well. That's also one of the big reasons people get invested, after all.
If you're looking for a bit more of an intellectual-economic angle - I noticed some interest with you to do that, seen your deep-dive vid about the economics of Russia, and your short about the Northern Searoute of Russia... what about a deep dive into the Eurasian Canal that has been much spoken about? To link the Caspian Sea with the Black Sea? That seems very interesting as well, and you could do a deep dive into the pro's and cons of the project, and the conditions to be fulfilled to become a reality.
Or maybe you could pick a technical-wonder topic again, like your ekranoplan, and, say visit/show a tour of Vostochny Cosmodrome, and who knows, maybe even interview some guys there that can shed a light on the future space-plans of Russia?
Or what about the much vaunted new airplanes Russia claimed would replace the Western airplanes? The Il-96-400M, the MC-21 and the Superjet-100, the Tu-204SM, the Ilyushin Il-114-300, etc... Where are all those planes? What happened to them? Ar they actually flying and being used by the Russian populace, or what is holding them back. If Russia wants to be self-sufficient, they need to get things moving in this regard. Aren't the Russian Boeing and Airbus airplanes lacking in parts, nowadays - so how is the Russian aviation coping?
As a more general format for your channel... I think I mentioned this before: I feel that there's a need to make shorter but more frequent vids. And I don't mean shorts. I mean regular vids. Because the shorts are cool and all, but are just appetizers at best. I remember you being a bit disappointment a short of you only got 20000 views, but actually, for a short that ain't that bad. But it will (almost) never garner 100+K views, like vids do. You regular (long) vids are usually great, but they take too long and you need to keep the attention of your viewers in the meantime. If made the comparison with the fish, last time, didn't I? That you need some bait to keep the fish around, and then your long vids is what hooks them. ;-) Your "hooking" is pretty alright me thinks, it's just the "throwing bait" that lacks a bit. A weekly vid would do the trick, but I realize you don't have the possibility (as of yet) to do that with your current set-up). Maybe your "news-gathering/commenting would do the trick. Or a weekly short interview with guest of some sort? Something that is easy, and still relatively interesting. IT won't gather the views of your long vids, but it's a cost-benefit thing, since you shouldn't spend too much time on making these neither. And, as said, it's also useful for keeping more people checking out your chan regularly.
Well, that was my two cents about it; hoped it helped!

In Portugal prices have increased much more, we have products, mainly food, which reached between 50 and 150% of increase in just one year.,
Houses rose by an average of 19% in 2022, life for the Portuguese is currently very complicated, in fact, this situation was created to explode the Russian Economy and ricochet the European Economy, suffice it to say that the US has reached the debt limit, someone has to pay...
I regret all this because I'm against war, I've lived through one and it doesn't bring anything good to anyone, it only benefits the rich elites who earn a lot of money from weapons..
Let there be peace, no to war, no to violence...
Best regards.

Holland beginning 2022 car petrol= € 244 a litre/ dec. 2023 € 1,99 a i=litre./ Diesel more expensive / bread at the bakery =€ 2,50 a loaf. Meat: beef, minced meat, sausages, cheeses, porc, chicken very expensive. Sports clubs: expensive ,are not for the poor. Eggs : € 2,60 for 10 eggs. Butter:= € 2, 60 250 gramms.. Lots of products come from East Europe People with a car and enough petrol go to farmers to buy fruit and vegetables. Restaurants very expensive a coffee € 2,60. Milk from Holland 2 X more expensive than milk from Eastern Europe. Marlboro € 9,-- for 20 cigarettes. For older people the situation is worse.
Cute country this Holland. but if we are talking about untouched nature with fresh water lakes and many animals, you can better be in Great Russia in the Springtime and summer. For many concerts of all kinds of instruments and young and older musicians you really have to be in Russia - I see them on youtube every week. Public use of drugs or growing cannabis plants is prohibited. Shops where you can buy cannabis are legal (are called coffee shops). The land of the farmers is taken away and sold because more houses have to be built there for refugees with a provisional status: they have no work and get everything for free and have a short waiting time. Even at legalized protests, the police hit quite often and quickly. Hotels and B&Bs expensive ! Fishing fleet almost halved because of the environment. Cute country but no longer a social Paradise here, unfortunately. Most Universities teach in English now, as I said: expensive unless you have rich parents. I met with your famous pianist Alexander Malofeev (21) in Amsterdam Oct. 1st 2022. He now lives in Germany because of travel problems from Russia to the rest of the world. He comes from Moscow and told me he missed Russia and his family very much. Have I given you enough information now? (Netherlands) 1 small wrap with 1 piece of chicken and lettuce + 1 tiny apple pie total costs € 8.50 at Mc. Donald's. 200 grams of beef costs € 4.50 + 21% tax in the cheapest supermarket The "ALDI". Stay in Russia an enjoy you great nature parcs after winter!

@RealReporter Haha, no, my coffee was already a week ago. 😅 My dollar-amount is always in one's, like 11,11 for easy recognition. 😋 No, I was talking about my comment here, on YT under this vid.
I understand perfectly you can't always respond immediately, no worries. It's just that normally, in that case you respond within a few days (later), but now I didn't see anything after a week, so I began wondering if something happened.
Carlson is recent news. But I do wonder what your thoughts are about that? I mean... obviously this didn't just happen at this time by mere luck and happenstance; there is a meaning and goal behind it from the two sides...

You are NO traitor my friend.
The American people are not at war with Russia, nor do we wish to be. The majority of us in the USA want to be friends with the Russian people.
"Anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear" know that our two historical cultures while very different, they also have a great deal in common where it matters most.
It is the soul-less globalists and their mindless supporters who have taken over the US government that are at the root of the the USA's conflict with Russia.
Russia will never "take a knee" to them and that is why the globalists will do all in their power to take us to war.
They cannot allow Russia to survive. It's too big, too powerful, to ignore. It's successes will stands in stark contrast to the moral decay and economic destruction that these globalists have brought to the US.
We can only hope that America can find and restore its true soul, and with it, a bright future and freedom for its children.
Please Jesus, King of Kings, let it be so.
If not, only devastating darkness lies ahead for those of us living in the United States.
AWAKE, not woke!

Haha. Didn't see THIS coming. Cool to get the Russian perspective of it. And indeed, not everything as a simple as one first thinks (especially in the West). Interesting and surprising vid, Kostya. I'm really curious who will win, and what effect - if any - it will have on Russia and the w*r. Point is, it's pretty clear that if Kamala wins, things will remain more or less the same in that regard. With Trump... it's really difficult to say, since he is much more unpredictable. It could remain the same, it could become better, and it could become worse. That's my opinion of it.
BTW, Kostya, I tried to post a reply and more elaborate response on you last vid, but it got deleted like 4-5 times (probably the YT algorithm), and I can't seem to find out why or which words trigger it (there was nothing actually offensive in it...). Maybe I'll try again a bit later, or maybe I'll send it via mail.
Keep up the good work, Kostya!

Hi. I'm a retired pensioner living in Australia. I found you when you did a video with Survival Russia. I don't need to tell you how good you are. However you need to upload more often, this is crucial, I know it is a challenge but you cannot shortcut this. There is an Aussie in Moscow, his channel is Traveling with Russell, he keeps it simple and chatty and his success is very impressive, the key is that he uploads2 or 3 times a week, mainly he does supermarket reviews, very similar to the one you did on sanctions. I hope this is useful to you, being a pensioner I am unable to make a financial contribution to your channel, I have watched every one of your uploads, liked and sometimes have commented. Cheers from Oz.

Another great video you made! In your videos you bring up things that are taboo in the West. Here you show a Brit and an Irishman, who clearly say why they live in Russia and why they stay there. I assume that it has become more difficult for some because of the sanctions imposed by the West, but in your videos you also let others speak for whom the sanctions have almost no effect. The fact that Russians are flexible and adapt to every sanction is remarkable. The Brit in the video has lost a lot because of the sanctions, but still refuses to leave Russia, which proves to me once again that Western leaders live in a different world and do not want to change anything about it. How stupid are they really? The conflict in Ukraine goes much further than that, much further than the Russian "annexation" of Crimea in 2014. That is what people in the West do not see. Here in the West, many lies are being spread about Russia, which are spread by the media and which people simply believe, without doing a reality check. I think that is a very dangerous trend. I like the Russians very much and feel connected to you. It is time that more is listened to Russia and that people should have more respect for the largest country in the world. The West must get rid of this colonial mentality. If you know history, you also know that the West has been causing death, destruction, slave labor, extermination of indigenous peoples and so on for centuries. People have already forgotten that here. The West should be severely punished for that!

Corporations and their statements/actions are just like politicians before and after the election. Inflation is everywhere and in Germany you would pay:
Milk 1l= 1,30€
Eggs 6pack = 1,89€
Buckwheat 500g = 2€
Chicken breasts fillet 100g = 1,49€
A pack of cheese 150g = 1,79€
Coca cola 0,33l = 0,85€
Yogurt 500g = 1,39
Butter 250g = 2,59€
Tomatoes 500g = 2€
Potatoes 1kg = 1,19€
Cucumber just one = 0,99€ RIP
Apples 1kg = 1,40€
Bread 500g= 1,50€
Ice cream 900ml = 3,99€
Pelmeni 450g = 2,99€
Chocolate bar = 0,80€
Total = 28,16€
I tried to pick neither the cheapest nor the most expensive ones. Oh and thank you for your efforts.

I enjoyed your video, it just anger's me how the hell the west has a cheek to put sanctions on Russia, have they forgotten about the illegal war they've been involved in, you know so called weapons of mass destruction, bull shit wars in Afghanistan, Syria, ect you could go on. I'm from England but I don't buy into the propaganda, for me it's a war by design to increase the cost of living to pay for money lost during there ridiculous lock downs. I'm glad to here that most Russians won't turn on there own government don't sing to the tune of western politicians. They try and brainwash us to hate each other, turn everyday people into enemies and I for one will not be fooled, I have know problem with Russian people only greedy government's who in this day and age still want to rule the world, the western politicians are know different than Russian politicians, all out to line there own pockets. Us ordinary people are stronger if we stick together rather than be tricked into hating each other.

01:56 Heey i have an Astra H Sedan '12MY to. Be honest, as an owner who maintain my car by myself in m own garage, i've realized, that today's problem of owning a European Car in Russia is not about the lack of spare parts, but about lacks of qualiy spare parts. Last weekend i had a problem with the leackage of antifreeze (it's well known problem for overy owner of GM with EcoTec engines since the middle of 2000's). And guess what, it was caused by the quality of parts. In the summer of last year i've reassembled oil-cooler (the block on the engine's block (lol) where coolant and oil goes on parallel channels for temperatur exchange). I've bought the new thermostat with aluminium body, and the pack of gaskets for oil-cooler, with GM labels with holograms and all that shit. They have lasted just a year (or around 15 000 km), and then all my underhood space were in oil and antifreeze again. The prices has been rised in roubles, but the quality significantly dropped down. At this time i bought a cheap gaskets, thermostat and bunch of other staff that made in Taiwan, and doesn't see any sense of trying to find an overpriced "original" spareparts. Chinese manufacturers started faking very look-like OEM labels and marks on parts, but they're not OEM, but being selled everywhere (even in big spare parts retailers) as OEM.
What about workshops, there also feels some lack of a good specialists there, so after that MOST of repairs of my own car i decided to do by myself. I've also bought some diagnostic equipment for old Opels, and now helping other owners to repair their cars (i've learned how to properly maintain an Easytronic automatized transmission, and my clients very happy, when their "freaky robot" drives smooth again).
I've thinked about to change my Astra for something 4x4, but, unfortunately, i can't afford to buy a newer and better car with price higher than 800 000 - 900 000 RUB (approx. 10-11k USD now), and if you will look deep to the market of used cars, most of them are dead, even not bad maintained, because people with low incomes started to spend much less on maintaining of their own cars, and in most cases, even cheap car often buys with the last money. And don't look over on Moscow roads, where whe have visibility of "mostly brand new cars on the roads are there". This visibility it's just because of people who used to drive upper-middle class cars (big European, USA and Japanes SUV's, and other things like premium sedans) are trading them in for a brand new Chinese cars, because they hope that at least it's warranty (5 years mostly) there will be no any headache with them.
Resuming my example: the car market in Russia is not quiet dead or lowed to the level of African countries, but staying on it's knees now, and in nearest future will sure not stand up.
P.S.: your language is very well, especially that you speak with no any accent. I've subscribed. Cheers from Moscow, Zelenograd.

@RealReporter Yes, true, true, I suggested also more vids, like once a week, to get a stable audience coming back and back - and also financially this would be a good thing. But, I was rather thinking that, maybe you can attempt a mix? As you said, the street talks are a way to get extra content more fast and (relatively) more easy. So my thoughts about that was, that maybe you could go for a weekly "more easy" approach, like you did with the streettalks and the showing the (lack of) effect of the sanctions by showing the Russian shops, etc.. And in the meantime, for the long hole, maybe a much longer one that lends itself to "taking its time" (like the economic one you made) each month, or each 2-3 months? That way, you'd have the best of both worlds, me thinks.
Of course, it's easier said than done, no doubt, and I don't know your current workload. ;-)
From a business-perspective, it's not bad to jump at contemporary issues, like with the killing of Prigozhin: with such a hot topic when it happened, you're right to drop everything, and make use of the hype/interest of that moment. That would be another example of something "fast paced" and "relatively easy to make". But the long, in-depth high-quality stuff can't be neglected neither; many relish in that as well, after all. It's like... the weekly vids would be the bait to keep the fish around, and the long vids would be that which you hook the fish with, if I had to use an analogy. ;-)
That's how I see your channel grow the most, but that's just my opinion, of course, and I know in practice a lot of things can come in between.
Curious about those future cards you speak of!
Also glad to see my coffee arrived well. I just used your old mail that you gave me; wasn't sure it was still ok.

@RealReporter I watch most of the world's "leading" reporters as well as the not so leading ones. On a wide variety of political, cultural, historical, etc. topics. And I would rate your reports on an absolute, so to speak, scale of 8-9 (I wouldn't give anyone a 10 in these times). And in terms of "price/quality" I honestly can't think of anyone else. In the sense when one person makes such high-quality, very informative reports. And about those places and people that you won't hear about or see in the Mass Media (aka Mass Hysteria Media)* And best of all, they are Reportage in its true sense. No agenda, no hidden messages. You simply show what you see yourself, leaving the viewer to think for themselves.
PS. As for the question of who to orient to in the future, I think China will teach them to love their motherland ;-)

@RealReporter I think ex-pats vids do have an appeal on their own, especially from foreigners or fellow-countrymen. It's because we can see how they live there, and an insight in why they went to (or stay in) Russia during these peculiar times. It may also appeal to Russians, because they give a different, or at least "non-Russian" view on things, like the war. So I do think they're fun and interesting, albeit less than your cocky-lawyer comes back, me thinks. And for me the "rural" life take on things (including the war) is very interesting as well - because slightly alien, sometimes. And a bit nostalgic too, since those small villages with old machinery have a way of living that reminds me of that of my grandmother, when I was a child. So I liked the scene and comments of the "babuska" in one of your vids (hopefully I spelled that right ;-) ).
But anyway, I think my other comment got a bit lost in all the rest (I really should limit my posts), so I'll paste my thoughts about the vid (and my suggestions) here again:
"Well... It was interesting, and the guy surely gives some insights in the matter. I would largely agree that, while there is propaganda from both sides, Ukraine is not winning this war. Maybe the Russians aren't either, but that just means there's a stalemate. And he correctly points out, if it comes to grinding, the bigger fish wins in the end.
So anyway, it was fairly interesting, and, I suspect, a reasonably "light" vid to make, but I'm still hoping your next one will be back to the inner parts of Russia. There are so many interesting topics to hear from the Russian common folks: how do they think about the war, how do they see (the death of) Prigozhin (a hero, a villain whom killed Russian soldiers? What do they think about the latest explanation for his death?). Or less somber: what do people think about the Belt and Silk Road initiative of China? Do they see anything of it? What do they think of the influx of Chinese goods (like the cars you mentioned)? Do they think Chinese products are getting good?
Also another take would be to "re-do" some older footage, where you go visit your former interviewees and let them react on the vids you made of them, and what they think of it, or want to add something to it. Also, to check up on them and see how they're doing. In this respect, maybe you could check-up on the other draftees and soldiers that you first interviewed, if possible. I mean, you did it for the cocky lawyer, and your re-take when he came back was a blast. I mean, really, that vid rocked. I didn't check, but that would probably be one of your most successful vids? You could do this with the others you interviewed in the original vid as well. There was another young bloke out there, who said he was going to be a gunner or sniper or something? What happened to him? What are his experiences so far? Etc.
Just putting some ideas out there, for if you're starting to wonder what to do next. ;-)"
The ex-pats vids are cool to, though, so I would recommend to keep some variety in your vids. The economic ones, and the "western brands leaving but not really" were interesting to watch as well.
Oh, and I jsut discovered your short with the cat of the cocky lawyer: nice and sweet! Don't know how I missed that.

This is an important video, the right one. Konstantin touched in passing on the fact that our bosses could prepare for what is coming if our country quarrels with our Western partners in a dangerous international process.
Thirty-two years have passed since the end of the USSR. Thirty-two years since an inefficient planned economy could create 40% of the world's civilian air force and a measly 20% of the world's industrial production. The state led by stupid communists produced: agricultural products, machine tools, textiles, audio equipment, cameras, televisions and an endless list of medical products. The Communists were idiots, they should have just bought everything from the West!
The video features Mikhail Fridman and Pyotr Aven (Aven and Potanin burn in hell, if hell exists), and there was also Anatoly Chubais and Yegor Gaidar. These people - Gaidar, Chubais, Aven, Potanin, as Chubais aptly put it - did everything to "hammer the last nail in the coffin of communism". They ruined and sold off our industry. As a result, our country can not only not produce medicines necessary for human survival, but also the components and precursors to create drugs! Everything we can, we buy from China. Let's thank these honorable gentlemen, they do not know how to drive cars and hire cleaning ladies. We should also thank those who have been selling our irreplaceable natural resources for 30 years and lived by the Gaidar legacy - "We will buy everything abroad". Thank you, our godly bosses, with such gentlemen it becomes unclear why last year we lost 1 million people, while this year by 650 thousand souls. After all, they are doing everything right, we love them and believe them.
I express my support to the people shown in this video and hope that they have enough strength and luck to survive these difficult times and our favorite bosses.
==RUS==

Heh. For the longest time I have skipped this vid, because I'm not much interested in religion (I'm baptized as a Catholic Christian, but really am more hoovering between atheism and agnosticism. But it was really interesting, and I should have looked at it as a cultural thing. It also shows the absurd silliness "2 fingers vs 3 fingers, 3 hallelujah vs 2, etc".. I mean, c'mon... seriously. That's enough for a rift and a century old divide, and people burning themselves? Mindboggling.
Ratio has it's perks too, clearly. ;-)
Still, it's always nice to see new things, and new ways of living and cultures. To "discover" and see them; It has an appeal of its own. I fear as time progresses, all these different specialized and unique cultures will slowly fade away. But maybe I'm too pessimistic, and new ones will emerge.

@RealReporter thank you, I'm feeling just fine except for a minor fever, mom's completely well, although our both tick squads were positive. That's the funny part, I never went into any thick forests, and in general, I only showed my friend some popular tourist places, we stayed on the main pathway, and we also used a repellent spray. The doctors say this year is a tick boom year. Maybe it's because of a record hot spring. Welp, at least I got to swim in a lake in early June, never had that before either.
I hope you're well, and that you won't be discouraged from travelling in the region because of the current tick anomaly. PS: glad to see you've been getting more views this year 👍

Hi, Real Reporter! Mesmerizing content, as always! Well done!
I'm sure you already have a lot of ideas for new episodes, but i figured a few more won't hurt:
1) How people of different religions coexist in Russia. For example synagogues in bigger cities, islam in southern regions, I'm sure there's still some Tengri and Buddhists in the native Northern and far Eastern regions...
2) For the Western audience it may be interesting to learn about memorials for foreigners who died fighting during invasions into Russia over the years. Pretty sure there are monuments near Murmansk for soldiers participating in Allied intervention during Russian Civil War; Katyn memorial complex; There's some for Italian troops during WW2 in some rural towns, Czechoslovakian legion, ect. I know there is some social pressure to close down some of them and some have been dismantled, but I don't believe its anything close to the scale of widespread removal of Soviet memorials in Europe. Ofc I could be wrong.
The reverse could also be interesting, but more expensive to create material for - memorials for Russians in other countries. There's Suvorov crossing the Alps memorial, Sergei Maltsin memorial near Salang pass in Afghanistan (entire country is woefully ignored by journalists), etc...
3) Visit DPRK! You may be surprised at what you will discover!

The comment section of this video shows just how some people are rotten to the core. The main idea of the video is how a man who witnessed grief of the war just found the place of his eternal peace, overcame his trauma, became a better version of himself. It's not specifically about Russia, you can find your place of inner peace, it could be any country, and tell the world about it, no one is stopping you. But people are just coming down here in the comments to argue about politics, seriously? While soldiers are fighting for your "active political position" you are typing salty comments about Vietnam, Afghanistan and Ukraine from your mother's basement, don't you think you need to stop and find your own peace?
"Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing"
Daniel, thank you for the great video. Love from Kazan, I hope you found a peace of your mind here in Russia.

Daniel was meant to go to Russian Siberian small village. I believe he’s there for a reason, and he might not even understand this reason himself not yet. Maybe it’s the same reason why my Russian Armenian family left Russia Rostov-on-Don to move to Florida USA to be close to the rest of our family. It’s just our destiny our fate to move overseas. Every time I see YouTube Russian videos that show the Russian audience how bad things have gotten in USA with LBGTQ, man-hating feminism, and other leftist degeneracy and perversions that degrade USA society, I always step in and comment saying that most Americans don’t want all this degeneracy and leftism and that most Americans are conservatives who are law abiding citizens that follow Christian values. The good Americans are in fact fighting against the current destruction of America. I think it’s better for Americans to hear about Russia from one of their own who moved to Russia and can actually see what is happening there. Just like it’s better for Russians to hear from one of their own who lives in America and can relate what is talking place here in USA. It’s better for us common people to communicate with one another instead of listening to mainstream news, and being mislead. I know that it doesn’t matter which country you go to, all people around the world want the same things for the most part, to be happy, to raise our children in peace, to have a piece of land and a good home, to live comfortably.

@elektrotehnik94 I will let Real Reporter answer for himself of course. However, from my perspective, as a person who have been living here for 11 years,( I'm from Denmark) all countries have positives and negatives. I know for a fact that the "sanctions" have creates a lot of new jobs. If it is more or less than was lot to sanctions, I don't know. I don't see any "panic" at all among people.
Here in my very small village, we just had our powerlines changed. 3 km of new wires, poles and a transformer station. I guess the cost must have been in the 15 million rubles range. All we had to pay was the fees for the application, which was 1200 Rubles, or 20$ or so.
I don't get all you people claiming "state propaganda: on everything which collides with your opinions on what things should look like. Today we have three types of media. State sponsored, which not by any means worse than the second type, corporate sponsored media, and then we have independent bloggers like this channel, The Duran and a whole lot of other pro and anti Russian sources. State sponsored media is not inherently good or bad. Russia Today is state sponsored and so is Deutsche Welle / DW. RT is banned on YouTube, but DW is not. RT is counter narrative to DW as example. DW is anti Russian, is not allowed to broadcast in Germany itself, but is not banned on YouTube. Double standards Western style.

Nice vid as always, Kostya. For some reason, it reminded me of your vid of the "old believers" you made a while back. ;-) It had the same vibe.
While I understand the more conservative views of this family, I don't actually share their strong belief in God and all that (I'm a bit too logical for that ;-)), and I also don't know if I would choose Russia as a shelter. I have a more laissez-faire attitude: as long as others don't bother me, I don't bother others, and for the rest, it's just enjoying your own life and those close around you. As for societal problems: every society has it. In the West, it's become too woke, true, but I mean.. no disrespect, Kostya, but Russia is pretty autocratic. I'm sure you can have a nice life there, as long as you don't go against the authorities too much and can deal with a rather high level of corruption (though I guess in every day life of normal civilians, this isn't really all that pronounced?) Still... main reasons thusfar in all your "ex-pats and foreigners that came to live in Russia" vids, two themes are noticeable: they do it for the gorgeous nature and calmness of rural Russia - away from the Western hectic life, and/or for societal-ideological (or belief) reasons - away from the Western Woke-ism. I can understand both reasons, but their choice seems a bit drastic, in my view. Also, if all the conservatives would leave, leftist woke-ism gets free reign and remains unopposed here: not a good thing, imho.
But well, to each his or her own.
The father is even prepared for military service in Russia if it came down to it, it would seem. Which reminds me: I wanted to ask this for a long time, Kostya; if you were drafted, what would you do? Would you go to the front? Would you stop with your vids, or rather make vids of your experiences on the front and keep your social media channels active?
