  18. I used to watched this show after school. I remember a lot of the kids at school were fans of the show because most of them came from Central Australia. Great mini doc 😌

  32. Geez I loved watching these shows. I've never seen a 82 commodore get grip and drive backwards with no back tyres and only reverse gear while driving in sand . Please tell me I can buy a box set of you fellas doin your stuff

  37. What a lovely surprise to hear from Alf Fildes son. It's a delight to read a comment from a descendant of one of Spike's mates. My family for generations have been gunners, including my dad and me, and have always loved the antics of Spike and his mates. I met Spike many years ago in Ronnie Scott's, I used to go there often. I wish I'd had the chance to meet your dad too. The whole battery, it seems to me, were an incredible bunch and come across in Spike's books to be bloody marvellous. How I would have loved to serve with them! Cheers mate and thanks for commenting.

  39. I’ve played all my life so I can relate to the passion surrounding the game. But you don’t have to have anything to do with the game to feel the love with these 2 beautiful people. Yep I had the tissues out. Got to be the most beautiful love story that’s been on TV-real people,real love, and thankyou for sharing something so personal. 💕
