  4. About half get refugee status. It is normal to stash the women, children and old folk and send the young man ahead. They wouldn't want their granny in a dingy and in a war the young men are often shot even if not fighters whereas women are no threat.

  7. Peace. Most come from Syria, Afghanistan or Iraq. And a lot of people have heard of London, speak some English and have skills they can use to work.

  10. Economic migration is about getting work. And just like the rest of us, they pay tax, NI and VAT. They also pay rent and spend in the shops. You might not like immigration and that's your right, but it does work for most successful economies.
