That's almost a 15% drop. After continuously rising for a very long time, a 15% decline is quite significant.

I mean quite a few people are in favour of austerity. Austerity is fundamentally not a bad thing, it's just fiscal policy. To not even protest on austerity is quite a weird thing to say, since that is far more acceptable in the west to do basically everywhere than literally deporting a part of your own population simply due to genetic heritage. These 2 things are not even remotely close to being in the same ballpark. I'm not even saying that austerity is the right thing to do for Australia right now, I don't know even remotely enough about Australian politics to say anything on the topic, but phrasing it as obviously worse is weird at best.

@mrvwbug4423 none of them are doing it. There's going to be a kabinet without any of the major party leaders in government. The idea is to create distance between the government and parliament. At least that's what they are saying right now. However, until there is a new government, nothing is set in stone.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at that news. That the UK is considered an unsafe country. Oh how low the mighty have fallen.

An E sport team style logo would look incredibly unprofessional in a political environment. Basically all logos in Europe at least have this style. Almost all party logos are just the letters of their name, or a simple shape. To do anything otherwise would be considered unprofessional by most people.

@jeffafa3096 to be fair, it happens on the left as well. Both Volt and PvdD are relatively recent additions to the Dutch Parliament.

@UCNQN3AVJmOA_pCQjqjn2JJw all the communism that has ever existed is just fascism with different branding anyway. The USSR and Fascist Italy weren't that different at all. Both totalitarian states with a highly ideological bend that put the state above the individual, using historical arguments for justifying their oppressive regimes.

Yeah, and frankly I don't believe that polling at all. The polls are always horribly wrong, I don't understand why anyone even remotely cares. The only reason he's doing well is because other parties let him do well. I'm quite convinced that if it comes to new elections, the PVV is going to lose massively, since no one else is going to be willing to work with them anymore. The fact that the VVD opened the door was already the biggest blunder in recent political history, unless the VVD has gone completely insane (which to be fair is not completely out of the question), they are not going to make the same mistake again. At least not for a decade or so. In the polls there's just a bandwagon effect, when new elections come up, the political climate is never even close to what it is right now, and it never is.
