@hoangling4344 I appreciate your efforts in trying to get people to laugh at you, but I would suggest next time to use at least three lies not just two. There was no 'landslide', the difference in count tallies was actually fairly close considering. And we both need point out the other obvious lie 😂😂😂😂

@PsillyApeUSA The US has profited immensely from the stability NATO has provided to the world, especially your closest trade allies. Doesn't cause me to not agree Europe should pay 50% of the bills if the economies are comparable, not 20%.

A better original statement would have been: the stability NATO has been providing to the world has increased economic and social prosperity around the world ( though mostly in it's member states ). It's the only alliance in existence which has done so without ever having an agressive posture, and that's a good thing. An European Army would have to be organized in the same way NATO is, which would be problematic for Europe certainly in the first decade(s) we don't have the capabilities. Most people do not realize NATO relies on US logistical assistance in everything. NATO's air transport capacity is 90% US based. France and the UK have some amphibious landing ships and, again, some aircraft carriers.. It's not even that the US provides almost all of the ballistic missile shield for the rest of us, the UK and France might not be able to totally destroy Russia alone I am sure most of it would be gone regardless and as such there is still some level of MAD going on. Btw, I don't find the threat of leaving when other countries don't start to pick up their tab's to be a bad thing, I actually support it I think we in Europe been neglecting our domestic ( European ) responsibilities. The thing with NATO though is that I think having a giant like the US in it, actually helped it's stability in the past, something I see having more issues in an European only alliance. We don't have that guy in the room, which when everyone keeps bickering among themselves can take their shoe off and slam it on the table to shut every one up. So no, NATO dissolving in the foreseeable future would not be a good thing not in the short run and if taken advantage off which I fear it would, not in the long run. But Europe being aware that 'uncle Sam' might not always be willing to pick up 80% of the bills when Europe's economy is comparable as a whole with the US, that's a good thing.

@arnoldredhammer9620 In principle you're correct, but getting to a self sufficient stage would require lots of changes. Even in a pure defensive stance, NATO's is 90% dependent on US logistics you don't just replace that ( though you severely cut it in way smaller pieces when you focus on a pure defensive force without massive projection capacity ). And our slow response to Ukraine has proven to me to not have faith up front on their capacity to provide Europe with what we need in sufficient time ( unless this desire comes with a bigger fatter check off course ). It's taking us way to long. ps the thing missing in Europe is leadership and unity. All our potential don't mean a thing if we can't agree amongst ourselves. To many lice, like Orban.

@davidradtke160 I can't post links, every time I even write the site name my message doesn't show up. "In 2022, the United States contributed 68% of NATO's total defense expenditure, which amounted to approximately $860 billion out of the total $1.26 trillion spent by NATO" And 68% in 2023 as well... and 2024 predicted to be only slightly less. It doesn't really help when it's our smaller economies who spend a larger part of their GDP, it doesn't change much in reality then. We need the countries like the UK, France and Germany to step up and have the military capabilities which go in hand with their economic power.

@davidradtke160 I got the 20% quote from Military and History, video from not that long ago. I think it actually was correct, but it was based on quite old data. Currently, many countries have already increased spending ( some even way more then 2% ... though others no enough yet ). Defense/geography wise, I will keep counting the UK as part of Europe. Those Brits already found out they won't last long without the rest of the continent. And canada is a relatively small country ( population /economy ) which I don't want to compare by putting it in a sentence with Europe and the US.

WTF you should have stayed in school. Most negotiations require a cease fire, one side always benefits more then the other from any pause in fighting/sanctions. Stop being a maggot and thinking that it's only US arms aid which is important, and somehow your aid is even worth being treated different then that of any other ally. Not that I am against a lend-lease construction, heck we even know the US would love to trade 'concessions' for exploitation rights in the future of Ukraine's natural resources and that's ok I guess as long as the terms are good for Ukraine.
