  7. Probably the biggest difference is that much of Taiwan doesn't see itself as not Chinese, and specifically, Han Chinese. Maybe 20%, according to recent surveys. It's really unlikely that they would die to be separate from China. Second, China is not nearly as cruel as Russia to those it conquers bc it isn't a conqueror; it is a hegenomy
