  1. Ooooh, I love the Dark Forest. It's real cosmic horror and we should be afraid. Yes, we are probably the first or the only in our galaxy based on what we know, but it would be very bad if we found someone else.

  2. The problem with this theory is that a civilization that doesn't want to die would expand faster than everyone else. We cannot hide forever. Thus, it is best that we own the galaxy before everyone else has a chance.
