  1. ​ @сырпошехонский  no, Ukraine will see the same Wirtschaftswunder as Germany after ww2. China recently declared that it is interested to rebuild the country. With all the foreign money the economy will be more modern than before.

  2. I am very disapointed that you consider Peter Zeihan as a reliable source of information. He simply tells anything that his audience in the USA want to hear. Is short, America is great and the rest of the world is doomed. Regarding the economic models for a declining population, you can be sure they are wrong because labour become less a factor in production. Despite a declining population China has 20 to 25 % unemployed young men. Imaging the callenges if China would have an increasing population. Our current trabsition is bigger than the industrial revolution and an increasing population would make it worse. Zheihan's projection from the past to the future is extreemly naive and dangerous. Societies with shrinking polulations have a better chance to develope a modern economy with a focus to AI and away from traditional human work force for different reasons.

  3. ​ @сырпошехонский no, Germany was not an industrial powerhouse after the war. It was destroyed totally and the remaining machines were transported to UK, France and Russia. I even remember how all the forest around our village were cut and transported to France. Poland was more corrupt and poorer than Ukraine but after EU membership the economy grow very fast even without much foreigh investments or the push from rebuilding towns. RHEINMETAL invest right now billions in Ukraine despite the war. They know very well that after the war Ukraine will export more weapons than Russia in the past.
