@scepteredisle It also costs money to safely decommision weapons that have warheads and rocket propellants. The donors get to save that money for weapons that have past their USE BY date.

It would seem that also sending some of the truck-bases Phalanx CIWS to deal with the cheap drones would complement the $4M/missile Patriot systems.

@TheDamnSpot As much as a nuke strike would teach a lesson, it would certainly be an escalation and demanded a response. Russia would probably nuke a slightly larger town....in a non-nuclear NATO country. Like Iceland. It would drive a wedge into the alliance where the US would have taught the lesson, but another member would have to pay for it.
