  1. China has spent billions trying to develop an internal semiconductor industry. Seems like a lot of it disappeared into people's pockets. Sounds familiar vis-a-vis Russian defense spending eh?

  2. I highly recommend Asianomtmetry's channel. He is an SME on this subject. The TLDR is that the machines used to make semiconductors are Dutch and even with those machines, making enough and economically is not easy.

  3. The Taiwan Relations Act has been around since 1978? with the Second Joint Communique, so that is not a new thing. The US has been arming Taiwan for 40+ years. If China attacks Taiwan, it will be because Xi decides so, not the he has been "baited" into it.
