@MrLee-gj2jz The British conquest of the Indian subcontinent depended on dividing the locals by religious and ethnic lines. Where the East India Company and Great Britain never had more then a few 10,000s of people versus millions of locals, subjugation was only possible by systemically making Britain preferable to a neighboring local group.
