  2. +MrGreenstar2012 - the kkk was formed by southern ex-confederates after the civil war, it was an answer to reconstruction that gave newly freed slaves a lot equality, (many) southerners would have none of it, at one point the kkk became so violent the founder resigned and quit the klan, it was during the 1920's when the kkk was its largest, some 3 million klan members, many from the north, indiana was a hot spot where klan members were as high up as the governor.
