exactly... 9-11 is never talked about in that context. i remember the shock of everyone (american) around me watching those images of the world trade center and pentagon, the real surprise (to me) was just how many people were surprised that anyone could hate us that much. george bush jr. idiotically saying. "they hate our way of life." and if it wasn't self evident that the corporate media had cultivated that ignorance, it should have been even more evident when every corporate network, including the so-called "liberal" ny times and washington post supported the call for war (with iraq, a country that had nothing to do with it) 10-1. every voice contradicting (telling the truth) bush/cheney propaganda was quickly suppressed or demonized. it's much worse than "forgetting", it's willful ignorance designed to keep the public clueless.

@zombiehampster1397 ikr? so many people after 9-11 were labeled as "unamerican" and "supporting terrorists" for questioning the validity of the bush/cheney admin. hysteria was rampant, and where was the fricking media? the american corporate media was the real failure for iraq, and like you say, these pathetic assholes are doing the same thing with venezuela, just repeating american war mongers instead of speaking truth to power.

@mattja52 while it's true everyone thinks they're right, and doing the right thing, it is important to hold people accountable, especially people in high places, people who represent us, people with power, who do things in our name. doesn't matter what the neo-cons were doing or who they were doing it for, they are war criminals, and obama letting them off the hook was a big mistake, it gave us trump, and if they let trump off the hook, who knows what we'll end up with next.

@peterroycroft so right, bush had single digit approval ratings in europe, across the board, massive protests against our war in iraq, (they were getting real news countering bush/cheney/american media narratives) and there were millions of protestors in the u.s. as well, but our corporate media chose to ignore them and continue to parade people (with monetary war interests) in front of the camera, and demonize anyone who would even dare question american motives abroad, and the millions who said, "why would anyone do this?" which was quickly turned into "islam is evil", more propaganda making americans as ignorant as they can.
