let's boil this down to a bumper sticker that delegitimizes the supreme court, (at the end) which is nothing but a gate keeper for the 1%, nominated and confirmed by a 2nd gate keeper for the 1%. the senate, where california has 2 senators, and 20 states who's combined population equals california has 40 senators i live in a metropolitan area in florida that has the same population as 20 states, and again, florida get's just 2 senators. the imbalance is ridiculous? why do we have two dakota's", their populations are 47th and 48th in america. and it's time to make puerto rico and the district of columbia states, split florida into two states, etc. ABOLISH THE CORPORATE SUPREME COURT

great conversation! keeanga-yamahtta taylor makes very good points, we seem to be at a crossroads in the way americans, or a huge section of america, sees systemic injustice and how that systemic structure keeps the 1% in power, and everyone else just pretending they live in a democracy. the supreme court, the senate... what dwight d eisenhower warned of, the "military industrial complex", has morphed into the police/military/private insurance/big pharma/big oil/private prison/corporate media/ security/complex. taking down racist statues should be a starting point. and juan is right about the fascist right in america, actively destroying democracy and trying to shore up injustice and blocking the ability to change anything... and get all these fascist right wing governors trying to criminalize protesting? a constitutional right! is anything more unamerican? but with over 200 trump/mcconnell and 3 (possible) supreme court justices, all these voter suppression laws (we've seen it in florida) and corporate personhood laws are going to stick!

@robertrichard6107 the 1865 13th amendment, the famous one that freed slaves, also put a loophole in that allowed for slave labor of prisoners. “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted..." slave owners and the wealthy knew what to do next, pass laws that now makes america the country with 20% of the world's incarcerated... while we have 4% of the worlds population... gee, wonder why? the 2020 hellscape of the california and oregon wild fires were largely fought by prisoners, over 2000 of them in calif. alone. and california paid them between $2.90 to $5.12 A DAY. and these inmates, who were trained to fight fires but were (until 2020) not allowed to become fire fighters after leaving prison. there is prison labor being used in every state, and all you hear from racist right wingers is "it's immigrants destroying wages"... the irony.

Lord Mask and also eliminate the electoral college, the d.e.a., the war on drugs, cut the military budget in half (for a start), defund the police, and start taxing churches who preach politics.
