I asked somebody to do a survey of the shelves in a large store and one interesting pattern is apparent, it seems that the hoarders are terrified elderly people because they are also taking things such as incontinence pads etc. Even the food items are often the sort that are used by people who don't normally (or can't) cook for themselves. Perhaps the government has failed them on two counts, 1. the scaremongering has backfired, 2. They need a home delivery service for basic items and a promise that they will not be forgotten and left without help if they are isolating, because they fear that the vaccines will not protect them.

@oldbloke204 Well put it this way, we mostly eat home cooked, vegetarian, restaurant quality, multicultural food dishes here and the things we need to do that are the least affected. It is the incompetent sections of our society who are freaking out and in need of support. Then again isn't it always that way?
