Well we may well find out the hard way over the coming months how foolish it was to ignore him if overseas fuel production and transport is impacted as most of ours comes through Singapore and that nation is very vulnerable to the virus so may have to shut down non-essential industrial activity due to staff shortages. Supplies of essential medicines for people who are chronically ill will also be a serious concern if they rely on drugs that are 100% imported, and they cannot survive without that medication. e.g. Diabetics. This is not speculation, they are very real risks if things pass a certain point so the goverment needs to have plans in place now as a contingency. We face a serious logistics problem, not just isolated health and financial risks, so you can't just "close the borders" and think that everything will be OK, people suggesting that are naive fools.
