What a load of BS, this move is a military and strategic positioning against the influence of China, entirely justified and wise but let's not tell lies about the reason please it is just insulting to our intelligence. If 1/3 of the people tested already have the virus and only 26 have died there is hardly a crisis or even the potential for one. The maths just doesn't add up to anything remotely like a crisis and the average person in PNG simply does not live long enough or get enough food to be in the at risk cohort. This is also supported by the statistical fact that the average age of the PNG population is about 22 years!
