  4.  @robertseavor4304  The exports of food from Ireland were controlled by certain individuals in England. One in particular who is on the record as indicating that he wouldn't mind if the Irish did come to an unpleasant end. If you can't name that member of the aristocracy then you don't have a clue about that period in history. The famine was 100% avoidable and was caused by the very deliberate and malicious actions of powerful people in England.
