  1. Exactly a sensible examination of all issues is the only way to ensure that we have our minds across the "big picture" and appreciate all lucidly expressed points of view, then at least we can be confident that our decisions are truly well informed ones.

Once the initial infection wave has settled into a predictable pattern, it is all over the place at the moment, then we will know how to reintroduce people, by demographic group, back into a reasonably normal lifestyle, starting with the young and useful working adults, then we can watch the impact they have on the numbers of infections so that we know when the appropriate time is to allow the next group to participate in society and the economy more fully again. As we progress through the groups they become more and more vulnerable so we need to slow down the process to ensure the health system is coping, but at the same time the herd immunity should have built up in all of the groups that came beforehand thereby lowering the infection rates. However this will never help or protect the most vulnerable people in our society and they will need other options put in place to protect them.
