It takes a lot more than specific political or political beliefs to stop seeing other humans as people just like you, this rather obvious fact gets clouded by political creatures, or religious ones, who seek to use such acts of madness as a stick to beat others with, which in effect makes them only a little better than the original perpetrator. If you can't put your point in completely abstracted and principled ways that are universally applicable then you are probably biased and should not be talking about the issue at all.
