About bloody time somebody in the media had the balls to ask that question and broadcast the answer! 54 is a lot, but nowhere near as many as I expected if the virus kills 0.2% of the people it infects. Looks like mortality is actually down around the same level as a bad influenza season.

In 2019 twice as many people died from smoking related diseases compared to covid deaths in 2020. That is a huge difference, and the government make a huge amount in taxes of people with nicotine addictions. There was even a vaccine for that developed about 10 years ago, but they never tried forcing that on people did they.

@gribbler1695 I think in your case that innumeracy could be the primary impediment to drawing any rational conclusion, but I don't have that problem. What you apparently fail to appreciate is exactly how many people in total were trapped in highly infected nations for over a year to produce that relatively small number of deaths. You also must factor in the natural attrition rate of any cohort and that a percentage of them were going to die anyway in that time period, with or without the virus giving them a final shove. That number proves that the risk from covid has been grossly exaggerated, it was always going to either be that or far worse, that many more had died and the government had been keeping quiet about it. Either way they come out looking bad and I knew this all along, which is why I have been asking the question for many months!
