Manufacturing easy victims who are shallow and hedonistic, with very poor planning ability, seems to be part of the process too. Cooky cutter consumers, conditioned to fear anything the media tells them to fear, incapable of setting their own goals and avoiding trouble, let alone dealing with anything without the mother government babying them. So the price they pay to keep sucking at the tax funded teat is to give up their civil and human rights.
