Eh, winter is when the ground is hard enough for heavy armour to be able to move cross country without getting bogged and avoid mined roads etc. I expect things to actually ramp up, and if you are naive enough to believe what US intelligence tells you then you don't really understand what their function is and should probably study Sun Tzu's "Art of War".
