If anyone in power had a remotest clue about anything they would realise that all you need to do is work out who the 40% of people are who get such a mild infection that they don't even notice it, then let them go about their lives immediately so long as they don't have contact with people outside of that 40% without physical protection in place for the more vulnerable people. You are locking up almost half of the population for absolutely no reason. Furthermore the most vulnerable people are not protected by vaccines because they are unable to form enough antibodies or maintain them for long enough due to being immunocompromised or having immunosenescence.
