  1. Companies are loyal to their shareholders, whereas governments are loyal to the electorate, in theory and assuming no corruption. This means that both parties are fundamentally opposed to each other in this matter, particularly if shareholders are not even Australian citizens, and in that case the government's obligations are very clear.
