@phil955i its not half the country and not remotely a majority. Its something like 35% of people that voted. Most Governments win around the 30% vote share mark. Cause of FPTP they get over 50% of the seats, but thats why our voting system is total bullshit.

⁠ @drahcir6590 its really dependent mate, there are issues related to competence, security, what the diplomat wants. I’ve been to Russia on a diplomatic invite because the plumber at the British embassy was dating my friend, yes the embassy has a plumber with diplomatic status there are they cannot trust locals. I’ve also been at dinner at the Canadian diplomat’s apartment in Iraq and she had basically nothing cause its a low ranking position.

Of course your life was harder and we’re soft. Keep telling us more wise boomer, us young people love hearing your condescending lies… oops did I type lies? I mean truths…cause this is obviously fact. I would correct it but back in my day in the 90’s we wrote with quill and ink and had to go capture a pigeon to steal a feather to write a letter. We could only afford one piece of paper so if you made a mistake you just kept it in.

@phil955i thats not a majority friend. A majority is more than 50%. You know when Corbyn ran in 2015 or 2017 he also got about 33% of the vote, in many other elections thats a 50% majority of seats, in that election it was a stunning loss. Dress that up how you like but its a broken and unrepresentive way to elect that does not reflect the will of the people.

Come on, we all know Sunak is gonna win and we’ll get more of the same crap. Truss is one of the worst cases but luckily shes delusional to think she has a chance. The party arent gonna grow spines and ethics and vote for the two ‘favourite’ reasonable candidates. Those in power want someone they can trust to be sleazy with them, just less obvious than BoJo, so Sunak.
