How can you possibly be this dense.  If 2 people have a fight and both are armed what is the likelihood of one of them getting shot?  Now if 2 people get into a fight and neither are armed what is the likelihood of anyone getting shot?

  3. Lady Catfish cops are different because of how they are percieved of as protectors especially by children but just seeing a guy in a t-shirt and jeans carrying a gun doesn't give you that same feeling of protection it just makes you scared.

The Pale Sicilian and if those criminals didn't have easy access to guns because they just aren't available how can they shoot people?  Same for someone that is suicidal if they couldn't just walk down to walmart and buy a 9mm they wouldn't have shot themselves.  Why is it that your gun safe country has so many more people being killed then everyone of your allies put together and by a wide margin?  Canada doesn't have a massive amount of guns lying around and no one is ever allowed to carry one onto the streets and we had less then 100 people killed by guns last year.

The Pale Sicilian if he doesn't have a gun on him then I can use nails elbows feet fists anything to stop him and make it not worth the effort then run away and contact the police.  How is this so hard to get.  If you don't have a gun and your opponent doesn't have a gun then no one gets shot and since someone that would rape a woman is pretty much a coward anyway most times they won't even do anything because they are afraid of getting hurt but you put a gun in his hand and suddenly he's super brave man.

Scissors can kill yes but they can also create art cut the string off a package make a silly peace sign (at least I did that once as a little girl)  But what else besides putting holes in something can a gun do. Lady Catfish when a police officer has been told specifically that this might be a dangerous situation they have their guns out and ready long before they enter but what about the average joe that is armed to the teeth and is paranoid about everyone that he comes across? Jamazonify I walk down the street everyday I go to a coffee shop buy a timmies and head to work and never once worry about having a gun pulled on me so why is that so foreign to you? if the person that attacks you has a gun and pulls it then all you can do is react which means he's already got his gun out and pointed at you and you'll be dead so your gun isn't protecting you at all. 30 000+ lives every year is never ever worth the risk.  Those are human beings they could have been the next newton or Nietze but we'll never know because someone with their legal right to own a gun ended their life.

Lady Catfish ok allow me to debate you on your opinions first off you do admit you keep your guns well hidden and safely locked up and for that I applaud you but how many others don't.  I've heard story's of a child that picked his fathers gun off the coffee table and either shot himself or someone else because of it.  You don't do that which again I love you for but you are not the entirety of the american people. Canada has lots of hunting areas and shooting ranges and that's alright (though I don't agree with hunting but that's just me) but if that's all you ever use your gun for then I have no problems with that but again how many of your fellow countrypeople don't just keep that to the shooting range and with the ability to carry a gun everywhere it's inevitable that there is going to be shootings. That's not just that I live in a nice neighborhood it's because I'm in Canada have you ever seen iron man 2 near the beginning the idiot hammer says I don't keep my doors unlocked because I'm not Canadian I live in the real world.  So that means that it's not just me it's a part of our culture and it's not just our neighborhood it's the fact that we know that a simple baseball bat will deter any intruders. why wouldn't you trust your government your only actual choices are the government or corporations because those are the only 2 that have the resources to fund you if you get sick need help whatever and the government is supposed to work for you but the corporation only works for it's shareholders. Our government has done plenty of bad things Our last Pm wanted to privatize our health care and spend 1 million dollars on a stealth snowmobile and we as a people rose up and told him hell no and he's no longer our prime minister. your founding fathers weren't stupid people and they put in your declaration of independence that the constitution should be revised and changed every 13 years to conform to modern times and the 2nd was only meant to be for state sponsored militias and a standing army should only be established for 2 years or longer only in case of war. I live my life free and care free because I know that I'm never ever going to run into a nutjob with a pistol because of our laws and regulations and that's what I want for you and other American friends I have.

Jamazonify but it's been proven that a gun doesn't save your life in all of the shootings in america only 2% have been ruled justified self defense.  If you know your attacker isn't armed you can deal with him physically and if he isn't armed you will get a lot more help from bystanders then if they were worried that they might get killed.  Your gun is simply a security blanket and it's even worse then that because it doesn't provide any actually security but it harms you because it's very presence makes you afraid.

Jamazonify that was your mistake you went to a pro gun website for your stats and those are always scewed.  Again just think about the scenario I put up for you and think about it honestly.  How would your gun protect you when your reacting to a situation and not instigating it? A seat belt can only save you that's what it does but a gun can only hurt someone because that's what it does.  You can't get around the facts that all of your allies put together which equals more then the population of the us doesn't even have have the number of people killed by guns that you do.

Jamazonify I never reported it because at the time I thought I was to blame for it and yes he did get away with it and that makes me sick to my stomach when he made a post to my fb asking me how I was doing.  If I could have killed him at the time would I have yes without a doubt but I would have given up everything that makes me me.  I will always hate him for what he did and I will never forget but That's why I am in martial arts with my fiance.  Her and I train together we help each other get better and that will never happen again to her or I but it will be without killing without losing our soul.

The facts are obvious if there are no guns out on the streets then people won't get shot it's just that simple.  No one is saying you can't have a gun and with what you told me you are almost Canadian in your handling of guns but what about the guy walking toward you do you know if he's as responsible as you are?  No you don't and the only way to know for certain is if you know that if he is armed at all outside of his house he's going to be put in jail.  This is the way it works in all of your friends countries and we have not even half as many people killed by guns put together then you do.
