  1. Martin Bell is an honourable man and has tremendous respect everywhere. One would not wish to disagree with him in any way that would impinge on his veracity. Regrettably, I think he is mistaken and the BBC should be made to survive on its own merits. It’s very, very straightforward; cancel the licence fee, institute a ‘pay as you go’ system and allow a ‘restructured’ broadcaster to survive on merit. Peter is absolutely to the point; to me, it is self evident to thinking people that there is a subliminal bias and has been for years.
