@eddypowell9736 The price for drilling in Africa, considering all logistical expenses and necessary investment, it's probably higher than drilling in Alaska or other US states. We can't force the local elites to not steal all the revenue, I keep seeing local african politicians and presidents going around in luxury cars and with fancy clothes and villas. Yet edgy people on the internet say that it's my fault because I happened to be born in the west... Jesus...I'm poor too...it's not like I'm abusing african fisherman just because they are too tribalistic to have a proper state...

Funny how 90% of the time it's not true. If corporations were the problem...how come the west is more developed? how come we are not like africa? The problem here is LOCAL POLITICIANS stealing all the money.

The "it's all fault of the evil corporation" is a childish take that only 15 yo edgy kids in their "anarchist phase" repeat. Corporations bring a lot more money to Nigeria than the local fisheries. That's how Europe became rich, by getting money from the industry instead of from agriculture or fishing... If there's pollution it's the local politician's fault for not enforcing environmental norms If the people don't get any share of the oil profits, its the local politicians fault It's easy to accuse a vague concept, a non-person like a corp...it gives the local politicians a easy way out And people like you feel good by repeating their "anticapitalist hot take" meanwhile there's an african politician that keeps enjoying the money while his people get angry at BOOGIEMEN liek "corporations". So, you are actually part of the problem.

"muh evil corporation took my jobs away from me weeee!" It's an excuse. Its not true that corporations take away jobs, otherwise industrialized countries would be poorer than africa. This is a problem with locla corrupt politicians not sharing the profits from the oil industry. it's not the corp fault if the Somalian president keeps building villas instead of schools.

@Richard-ug4el Not sayign they are innocent, you BRAINLET. I'm saying that corps do ALWAYS their interests, but JUST WHERE THE LOCAL POLITICIANS LET THEM. If the local politicians dont CLOSE THEIR EYES and elt them pollute and they wouldnt pocket the taxes from corps, the local citizens would have 0 problems with the corps. I work for a CORPORATION in Europe. It doesnt pollute, it pays taxes. Guess why? BECAUSE MY POLITICIANS FORCES THEM TO. You are so childish. You can't argue cuz u got NO ARGUMENT.
