Before he was elected Wynne vetoed Tory’s plan to toll the Gardiner and the DVP but then she gave Toronto and all other Ontario municipalities an additional cent of the provincial gas tax which is like $170m/yr for Toronto alone. Ford in the 2018 campaign promised to honor that commitment then reneged it after he was sworn in as Premier. If you consider 5 yrs of that withheld funding that is literally more than half of Toronto’s Budget hole. Then the Feds likely owe us couple hundred million for housing asylum seekers in city run shelters who had no work permits. Both those things if resolved likely wipeout Toronto’s fiscal hole completely.
