  2. Ā @lildaniebeanĀ  I heard it was a HELOC scam they got a loan against the equity of their existing home to invest in some Real Estate Opportunity also pitched by these fraudsters that flopped. Then the guy and his wife got stuck with the HELOC loan during increasing interest rates and that forced them to downsize their home. The money they lost was all the equity they invested in their original principal residence.
