@newhorizon1355 actually not from the Bible. That is a read into it. It is allegorical concept of unity. Thus the term union. Soul mate is more of a new age idea. Within a union there is more of a dominant role and a submissive role. Males were expected to provide paternal leadership and protection. The female was to help in provision and care of the family. Even with Christianity the revelation of the man being a leader is there. He is to be a positive influence and caring to the female. The woman is encouraged to respect his leadership and be submitted to benevolence. Men are encouraged not to lead in anger but with love, compassion, and patience. Nowhere is it incurred they are of one soul. They are unified in physical purpose and in Christ.

@1TightMinute Actually, my point is that it isn't a Christian idea. You have given some more good data to corroborate my point. It may be an old idea, but again, the new age movement is responsible for the revival of this soul mate idea. Along with astrological signs having anything to do with personality traits. Women are using these concepts to avoid taking responsibility for choices and actions. She cheated because the affair partner was a soul mate? 😆 complete tripe.

@carolkingsafer9728 no such thing as soul mates. The reason you are together and weathered the storms of life is you built bonds buttressed by trust. Soul mates as if you were born for each other. That isn't even remotely realistic.
