From Reuters: An Israeli - Canadian lobbyist hired by Myanmar's junta said on Saturday (March 6) that the generals are keen to leave politics after their coup and seek to improve relations with the US and distance themselves from China. See, this protest was actually purposed to sc rew China's BRI project at the first place. The Myanmar - China Economic Corridor is a huge project that connected the coastal city of Kyaukpyu next to Indian Ocean - Kunming, Yunnan, China. Thanks to Aung San Suu Kyi and her party NLD that this project has started. Once this project completed, China will cut the cost efficiently via that route, instead of the high risk Malacca Strait and South China Sea. But now the w es t finds a new way to sc re w all the things up.
