  1. Good question. I think it falls into the same discussion the Joe Blogs posted recently. The size of the economy is not the most important metric in terms of quality of life. For instance, when was the last time a Russian city made the top 10 on the liveability index? If the Russian economy grows by making more "stuff" that gets blown up for no good reason, then that's just lunacy. It doesn't fix roads or build schools or fund health care.
