It's a "proven" drug to fight malaria - hence why you got it in the army, very likely due to where you were based. It's an "unproven" drug to stop coronavirus. That isn't to say that it doesn't work, but the jury is well and truly out at the moment. Medical scientists are worried that the benefits are far outweighed by the dangers of taking the drug. If the study you are pointing to is the Chinese one, apparently they haven't submitted their data for peer review. Red flag (no pun intended) right there. And I'm not all for your anecdotal evidence as some type of gospel. Instead, lets wait for the proper peer reviewed studies to come out about this, and maybe it'll say "yes, this is a way to fight it', but also as likely it'll say "no, this is not a viable solution". I don't think your propaganda comment at the end is very smart. Miracle drugs and trusting Trump's commentary are really the common domain of the true propaganda theorist. I'll wait and trust the experts when they release their studies, thanks.

@DLDRIBEN That is incredibly sad. You base your thoughts on comments on You Tube? So, there is no desire for you to look at the peer reviewed literature? No desire to hear what medical experts and scientists have to say on the matter? Just - I saw a you tube commentator say something that upset me, so I'm going to be contrarian to his views! You know what Debbie - go for your life (literally). Have a good old dose of that hydroxychloroquine that Trump is telling you works. And maybe, we shall see another "Darwin Award" winner! Good luck!

Because as it stands, the current status is as follows: "Additional studies examining hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine in preventing and treating COVID-19 are desperately needed. Given the weak evidence available, larger controlled trials are needed to more thoroughly assess if hydroxychloroquine/chloroquine have a clinical benefit in COVID-19." Happy to be proven wrong though. And please stop "up thumbing" your own comments, it's sad.

@docrobins2895 Doc - I was going to reply to you sincerely. But then you wrote "are you trying to start a war"... well, I'm obviously dealing with someone that has mental health issues if you think people giving opinions on YouTube can somehow start wars between historical allies. However, let me clear one part of your other comment up. Hydroxycholoroquine does not cure people - the mechanism that has been discussed is stopping the virus entering the cell before you get infected - so you need to be taking it before exposure. The fact that you didn't know that shows me that you have absolutely no idea what the heck you are talking about.

Anyways, you appear to be confused about how politics works in Australia. My Prime Minister is Scomo (not a big fan, but hey ho). My Premier (of my state) is Annastacia Palaszczuk (again, not the biggest fan of her either). My local member of parliament is Llew O'Brien. Trump is some orange man child that occasionally pops up on the news over here, each time is usually a facepalming event for all those watching. Even right wingers in Australia cringe when he is on TV. But continue to be paranoid about me, i bet beads of sweat drip down your a*se crack every time you read one of my comments.
