  1. First the soviet have worse pharmaceutical industry and medical personel (they have more coimmisar (200 men) than medic (100med) in a division (10000men). Second both Germans and Soviet have different counting method. The soviet will count sick the Germans wont. The same with tank losses. the Germans will only count total losses as loss while not going to count inoperable as loss until certain time. Thats why in their report their tank losses are low but at the end of the campaign it suddenly rocketed up. The Soviet will count every losses (permanent, temporary, damaged, sabotaged) as losses, daily. Thats why their losses always higher than their inventory. (a tank battalion only have 21 tanks at full strenght but can reporting that they lost 40 tanks).

  2. Probably not. The first Tiger was captured near Leningrad belongs to 502 since they use Elephant insignia, Tiger are recorded as Elephant in soviet record for long time.

  3. It was Eremenko who cook the plan for encirclement, not Zhukov. Nikita Kruschev the guy who often deliver report to Stalin was attached to Eremenko.

  10.  @ArmorKingEmir  Their main job is either guarding prison/gulag and border patrol. I dont think they receive artillery training since they dont have any. I doubt they have dedicated mortar, anti tank or machine gun company as well. Just curious, do Russian police today also have artillery/mortar/antitank training?

  11.  @ArmorKingEmir  At Stalingrad there are report that NKVD running away from battle and everyone can get shell shocked. And I doubt you will receive mortar training if they never give you mortar.

  12.  @ArmorKingEmir  The record of NKVD in combat are low because they are not trained for that. Unless they are trapped in a besieged city. This guy TIK already made video about NKVD combat performace, and im sure there will be more in the future.

  13.  @ArmorKingEmir  Indonesia. We organize mortar into battery and they are trained to use them. Also its logical to remove anyone not trained for combat from front lines.

  14. Nothing. The soviet already planing to abandon the city leaving behind one rearguard (Chuikov) it just they never dream that Chuikov actually managed to hold the entire 6th army for so long.

  16.  @Shinji72  They still have Khazakstan, they wont crumble. Also the way they avoid economic collapse is by giving a lot concession to US and they just paid all their debt few years ago. It has nothing to do with Stalingrad.
