  1. Matt, "spoofing" in this case is the act of manipulating data to make it seem you're somewhere you're not, so they're not "hacking" or "taking control" in anyway. Instead, they're manipulating the global positioning data to make the drones think they're somewhere they aren't, causing them to course-correct. Requires them broadcasting the global positioning signal at a stronger strength than what they're receiving from the satellite's, making the drones think they're still getting accurate data, instead of ignoring it and using other satellite info. Due to GPS jamming being an issue for airlines, there's been lots of videos on the subject.
