  1. Indeed! Even I knew the word "shit" as early as 4th grade, and we just didn't say things like that in our family. Mind you, that was in the mid 70's and I uttered the word under my breath and my classmate heard it and told the principle who knew my parents and I got my mouth washed out with soap once home from school. Back in the days of when one had consequences to stuff like that from one's parents most likely. Mind you, I don't recall HOW I learned the "dirty word" in the first place, but I still utter it even now on occasion.
