  1. I agree. Marxism and the breakdown of the traditional family that started in the 50s and 60s has led us directly here. Post war self indulgence, after the horror, is entirely understandable. Society had become perhaps too rigid. But the cult of the self has gone too far the other way. More 'Disneyland Dads', Mums not at home, parents wanting to be friends rather than parents, 'boundaries are bad', massive increases in disposable income and consumerism, outsourcing responsibility to 'the government', 'I know my rights' rather than 'I know my responsibilities', 'celebrity' becoming a career aspiration. The list goes on and on. We did this. We threw the baby out with the bathwater without realising how important it is to try to maintain a balance between rights and responsibilities, individual and society, history and future.
