By 2019 Trumps policies doubled the number of people crossing the southern border to 977,000. He only saw a reduction for the first 9 months of 2020 due to covid, before it went back to a 20 year monthly high in October of 2020. It has remained a 20 year high and increasing ever since under Trumps failed policies and Title 42.

@dadasaurusrex From 2020-2023 most who crossed the border were placed into expidited removal wiithout penalty and free to recross the border again. That was due to title 42. Only unaccompanied minors where allowed later by court ruling. Mayorkis policy was to follow the law as closesly as possible without any legal deterent to use on border crossings, at thew sdame time following asylum laws that the right were undermining. Staters are doing nothing, becauase that all the states can do. Stick your fingers in your ears and ignore the facts that don't fit the narrative you want.

@311Bob No my point is, why is the GOP ignoring and violating constitutional seperation of powers and US immigration laws that have been in place for 40+ years?The GOP's attempt to us title 42 to stop legal asylum in our title 8 enforcement, and while doing that removed the legal deterent and penalty in our immigration laws for border crossers. That removed a vital tool for border patrol that as time went on overwelmed our resources. With expited removal under title 42 if you were caught and quickly removed you could just try over and over without any penalty. How would the border issue look if we had continue to enfocre title 8 authority and been able to better manage legal immigration and asylum, while allocating resesources to removing and penilizing those who did not qualify for inital screening and have been deported.

@peternincompoop1823 Don't give me BS numbers without knowing any context to your parroted claim from your puppet master. Under title 42 from 2020- to mid 2023, the majority of those apprehended were placed into expidited removal because we no loinger were excepting asylum claims in title 8. Those appreneded were transported and moved to other sections along the border for release due to restrictions put in place by Mexico due to Trumps hardlined policies, go read about it. many were transported to the northern border for processing or detainment prior to deportation due to the overelming numbers. Court orders changed title 42 restrictions to allow for unaccompanied minors and families with small children to ask for asylum again beginning in 2021. Under US law those minors have to be transported out from border patrol and into family services within 72 hours. And those transportations happen legally under every president. So out of all the apprenesions under title 42 the majority were temporarily allowed into the country most were placed in expidited removal. The probem is there was no penalty under title 42 as ther is now under title authority. Just becasue your puppet master have conveinced you that everyone apprehended has been allowed to stay here doesn't make it true.
