@Gww-1 How can he be violating his oath to office if he is following asylum laws that congress wrote 40 years ago, Trump violated those laws and his policies were reversed in East Bay Sanctuary vs Trump, three years ago. Were was the call to remove him for not following his oath of office? Do you need that oath of office explained to you? It would be to carry out Congressional laws.

Under title 42 there is no penalty for crossing the border illegality. US code 1325 makes crossing the border on the first offence a federal misdemeanor that carries a civil penalty, second offence carries stiffer penalties. With title 42 in place numbers are inflated due to immigrants crossing multiple time and repeating to be counted and sent back over the border, because there is no penalty under tile 42. Under Trump repeat crossers were at 7%, as title 42 has aged that number is now at 40%.

Big difference in having a difference of opinion and cherry picking data, and the Rights complete manipulation of facts at the border and what our laws state. We have asylum laws the left is following the law the Right wants to undermine our asylum laws to fit their agenda. And that started under Trumps departure of our laws and causing this issue.

@ChristopherVPepe No, I’m correct and you’re just making sh it up as you go. Regardless of if they qualify for asylum, they still have a right to make the request. That is why Trump lost in his appeal for making the same failed argument that is irrelevant to US law and international treaty, East Bay Sanctuary vs Trump. All anyone must due to request asylum is to be on US soil. They are then put into a process to vet that claim if they do not qualify, they are put into deportation proceedings. If they do qualify and pass a creditable fear interview, they are to be detained in the US and not Mexico that is USD code 1158. That’s a law you have never read or had your media explained to you. The Right see’s US code 1158 as a loophole so they want to undermine it and lie about it. You would call US code 1158 an “open border policy” and “catch and release”. These are right wing buzz words to manipulate the low informed base into knowing jack sh it about border law.

And your Right wing media and leadership lies removes context to keep their base ignorant of our laws. Trump was also flying immigrants into cities in the middle of the night and he was passing out phones to immigrants. Look it up and read our laws.

@misterwallace3479 under title 42 immigrants are just put back on the other side of the border and the penalty for crossing illegally is removed. This is causing more repeat crossing as there is no felony charge for the second attempt. The first attempt is a civil penalty. As the title ages the rate of repeat offender increases and the number of those cross in is inflated. Under Trump there was a 7% repeat attempts, it's now at 40% The governor lies it's not being repealed its expiring and has no use other then for the GOP to use it in their continued attempt to undermine US code 1158.

@Gww-1 It's called reading the law and looking at facts outside of the Right wing misinformation bubble. Because I've been studying the issue for 5 years reading case law and trial transcripts. Researching past policies like Trump flying immigrants in the middle of the nigh and the fact Trump handed out phones to immigrants too, but the Right only criticizes Biden. Or the fact that the $450k settlements was due to Trumps violation of asylum rights in separating of children. Title 42 is a health policy not an excuse for the Right to continue to undermine legal asylum in US code 1158. There isn't anything the Right says about the immigration issue that is not full on misinformation, missing context, and flat out lies.

Trump went to the border and made it worse, Ted went to the border and just lied and built false narratives. What we need is a leader that follows immigration laws and not dismantle them to fit a Right wing agenda. We had a 17 year decline in southern border crossing to the lowest point in 50 years, prior to Trump and his policies. By following immigration law. Within two years Trumps policies doubled the number of people crossing in 2019 to 977,000, a 20 year high. It was only reduced for the first 9 months of 2020, before going back to a 20 year high in October of 2020. It has remained a 20 year monthly high and growing ever since under Trumps failed policies and title 42.
